    Constant harassment from Standard Chartered Bank Credit Card Deptartmen.
    credit card 5543-7586-8263-4692, irresponsible and forcible extraction of unkown charges in illegal manner, intruding family privacy and freedom in spite of clear instructions to correspondence over email and in writing

    In spite of repeated reminders to Bank and clear instructions to the recovery agents to stop calling on mobile phone and to start corresponding on email and in writing, the caller did not stop calling mobile and home telephone.

    The below email is sent to SCB, Customer Service is called and clearly instructed to stop the recovery agend from calling on Mobile and Home phones. The Caller did not listen and the harassment and disturbing calls continued till today.

    The SCB is non responsive and restoring to extraction of money forcibly.

    There are many customers suffering from Standard Chartered Bank Credit Card departments, I request the court to take up the case as PIL for quick redressal to all suffering customers by restraining forcible extraction and to put up criminal case on the Bank for using illegal and unparliamentary methods to harass Customers.

    Sub: Non settlement of card account, harassment from recovery agents, late services, delay in settlement and harassment calls from 1244826047 to mobile and family in spite of clear complaint and instructions not to make phone calls and in spite of several requests to correspond over email for clarity of information.



    I was a long time user of the card. Above card is used since 1995 till 2005. My old payment record will show my credentials in giving regular payments till the usage of the card is stopped after noticing exorbitant charges in late fees, interest and interest on charges. Bank has charged annual fee for new gold card which was delivered late after one month and the card was never used for any transaction.



    Thereafter till Feb 2006 numerous complaints were made to customer care for consolidated statements of actual card usage, late and other charges and for reconciliation of payments to Bank in order to settling the account. The complaint was never addressed. At this time the bank claim was about 16000 which is very high and included annual fee, late charges and others which were not accepted. Actual usage was much less in the account.



    Feb 2006, one of the of the account manager promised to settle the card with a payment of 7037/-, since annual fee and subsequent late charges on the card not agreed as the new card is not used for transactions. Payment was made vide Jumbo Courier Co. Pvt Ltd. Receipt N. 802173 dated 28.2.06 along with a hand written letter for settlement of account and requesting for the card cancellation.



    In between several calls were addressed informing the above settlement payment and asking caller to verify from bank records. Clearly instructed callers not to disturb unless the reconciliation statement is ready.



    Jan 2009, Again after three years one Mr. Rathore from Delhi claimed to be Advocate of bank and his associate started calling from 9496181551, 9711391661 for payments. It was told that the case is in legal and settlement is to be made, provided me settlement letter No. NDR121208023 Dt 12.12.2008 for 7000/- ( against a total outstanding 41561.04 mentioned in the letter - how so much can be without any transactions, when the card is blocked, no services provided). Even threatening calls to send police to home and disturbing family members was done to get this 7000/- payment. Request for reconciliation statement were never addressed. Fedup with the stereotype and unilateral replies the payment was done on 28.03.2009 and informed to both these gentlemen with a fax of the receipt. After one month, when did not receive any confirmation of settlement, call was made to Standard Chartered Customer Care informed above issue and requested NOC.



    In between couple of calls were addressed informing the above settlement and asking caller to verify from bank records.



    April 15, 2010; however again received calls from 1244826047 claimed to be from Standard Chartered Bank asking for payment this time about 58000. I cant understand how the amount goes on increasing from nowhere to such an amount without any transactions. Asked the caller to send mail and stop calling. But irritating call repeated for several times and again caller called home phone to disturb family members in spite of repeated instructions not call home and even on intention to lodge complaint against bank for this harassment.



    If the Bank provides reconciliation of transactions and records, payment to the Bank definitely exceed actual usage of card for purchases and legitimate charges. By true accounts the banks will have to pay back all excess payments with due interest. Instead of providing clarity on card usage the bank is keeping on charging and forcing to collect money illegally by disturbing privacy of family, using unparliamentarily language, threatening calls also used.



    Your recovery agent or department calls are very iritating as the caller always gives stereotype answeres without attention to customer and keep on calling even after clear instrucions and complaints. Due to such disturbing calls my family is deeply disturbed and facing severe distress and inconvenience. Upest with this type of credit card business we have stopped using credit cards altogether long back.



    Requesting bank to please stop using such calls and settle the account with complete and detailed reconciliation statement. Please take it as a special case of harassment to long time credit card users and do the needful.

    This is to inform you that my name is Chetna Batra and I hold a credit card from Standard Chartered [card number 5546232901692839]
    I want to raise an official complaint against Standard Chartered on account of my personal information leakage, threating, harassment and mental tension.

    Since last days my family has received numerous phone calls from Shruti [From Mumbai Standard Chartered] phone number 022-65298768, saying that I have to pay some Rs 45000 against some bill for credit card. The lady who called, made constant calls[every minutes] on all the phone numbers of my house including mobile phones and landlines. Not only this, she made numerous phone calls to my relatives, in-laws, and everyone who is related to me here. She used abusive language to my parents and my in-laws and spoke very badly to everybody who came on phone. I NEVER shared any phone numbers with SC of my other family members, I want immediate action to know how you have phone numbers of these relatives and how was the calls addressed to them. She made threatening demand of money upto lakh rupees to my in-laws. I NEVER received any bills, have not used SC credit card and have got not even a single notice from SC. I have been out of country from more than an year and have no idea what she is talking about.
    Is this the way you treat your customers? Forget customers, is this the way you can go to an inhuman level of harassing people?

    I would appreciate an very urgent and immediate action into this case to know whats going on. I have my mother who is a heart patient in my house and is in a very bad state after all the abusive language used by your employee with her on phone and her constant nagging. I want full explanation of the situation and I am going to go to the Consumer Court of Law and Media for mental harassment of my entire family by Standard Chartered Bank.

    Seek your urgent attention into this matter. Any further phone calls to any single member of my family can prove very fatal to Standard Chartered for sure.

    Constant Harassment and abuse calls from Standard Chartered. Card No 5546232901648021
    Me, My wife and old parents are getting threatening calls from Standard Chartered. The guy named Varun calling us from numbers 9654401740 and 01244281802 and abusing us all with dirty language with me, my family and wife .
    I have been trying to contact Standard Chartered for settlement from last two years but everytime differnt officers step in and give false commitment and take money against the settlement and then disappear.. I have list of all the officers.

    Please check the below mails I send to Standard Chartered complaining same..

    Dear Officer,
    This is regarding my long pending credit card settlement matter which is still unresolved with Standard Charted bank.
    Due to lack of response from the bank I am now getting threatening calls from Standard Charted which has been causing mental harassment to me and my family members.
    Recovery agents are not only harassing me but are also abusing my old parents.
    Nisha Khan (01244826062), who claimed to be Standard Chartered officer, is abusing and threatening us. Other then Nisha Khan, Ram Shankar is the other officer who has called us and threatened us.
    I have also got the threatening calls from Nisha’s colleagues but they only introduce them as manager and don’t reveal their any other identity.
    The history of the case was.
    I had a SC credit card, on which some fraud transaction happened. I approached SC and send them a filled form on which I did not have any response for long time.
    After that recovery officers started calling us and offered me settlement.
    Initially I never wanted to settle and close off the card but I was forced to do so as there was no cooperation from standard Charted Bank on the dispute, therefore was left with no option but to close off this card.
    I called on Standard Charter customer care several time but they refuse to help me by stating your card is in recovery and only option is that recovery personnel will call you.
    I never wanted to put my card in Recovery but this happened because there was no way to connect SC directly for this issue.
    18 months back SC office settled the account in Rs. 50 thousand when the outstanding was around Rs. 90 thousand and asked us to pay the minimum amount for two months and rest of the amount after getting the approval in Black and White, and also he committed that the minimum payments which we are paying is the part of 50 thousand settlement amount.
    After 5 months of minimum payment that officer disappeared and till that time we already paid almost (6500*5 = Rs 32500) and the settlement did not happen.
    During this period the recovery case was transferred to a different recovery agency and the other Agency/SC started calling with new deal.
    This time the outstanding was more than 1 lakh. After two months of discussion and arguments with Amit (officer), again the account got settled for Rs. 45 thousand.
    After paying 3 months the minimum amount of Rs 6700*3 = 20100, the third Agency/SC officer is calling us and asking for new settlement.

    During this period I have already paid more then Rs. 50,000 which was the initial settlement amount.
    I think we have already paid more then what we were suppose to but still we are facing this injustice and humiliation from SC.
    Now from last 15 – 20 some days one Lady is calling us (Nisha Khan) with some of her colleagues and threatening us, abusing us. I got a call from different people some introduce themselves as manager but not ready to reveal the identity even if asked to.
    Nisha Khan and her colleagues are abusing my old parents who are not well and on medicines. They have my Cell phone number but they call my parents all the time and abuse them. And even if they call on my cell I only hear them shouting on me over phone.
    Every time a new Recovery agent calls and I have to explained whole story to every individual but i don't think anyone sitting there knows any mean to help then abusing and shouting.
    The last SC officer settled with me was Amit (9999873696) who committed us the settlement on Rs 45 thousand who was accompanied by Vinay Agarwal (Sr Officer Standard Chartered, 01244826027)
    Because of all this discrepancy and lack of coordination with SC, my card amount has exceeded Rs 1.5 lacks
    Now, as the situation is out of hands I guess my only resort is to log a judicial case against Standard Charted Bank for humiliation and mental harassment which as led to a lot of mental trauma to me and my family.



    Seeking your advice for the last time..

    He is also calling at my place and being very abusive to my family and wife and he is actually abusive to them..


    I am writing you to take due action in this matter and if this happens again to my family and wife, I will launch a complaint against same with this mail as an evidence that I informed Standard Charted officers in due advance..







    Please could you guide me what should be the next step..

    Please find the short details of mail communications that has done between me and SC :


    (a) September 21, 2011 ( I have send a mail to SC) and got reply on Sep 30, 2011 at 5:43 PM for final settlement.


    (b) Sep 21, 2011 at 9:43 PM ( I have sent a mail and got the below reply):

    Thank you for your e-mail. This is to acknowledge the receipt of your e-mail to us.
    If you have raised a query, we will get back to you shortly.


    (c) Wed, Sep 21, 2011 at 6:15 PM ( Got Reply to pay only 1143.17 and auto reversl of rest amount angainst the mail sent by me on 19th sept)

    (d) I have triggerd the first mail on September 08, 2011. and got reply on 19th sept 2011


    I have sent a mail to SC on Septmber21, 2011 and got reply on Sept 30 , 2011 (: 09/11/052720/RAK/ESC )

    On septmber21 mail i have requested the BANK to make a final settlement of the amount by arranging a
    Phone Call.

    And in the Sept 30 mail, Bank has mentioned that the CPP has cancelled and one of bank executive will contact
    me shortly.




    I waited for some days. i exactly did not remember the date but after some days one lady executive called me
    and asked any body from Bank had called me or not for the Final Settlement.


    I told no body has called me till that date. Then she told that one of the executive will contact shortly.


    But after that i did not get any response from SC Bank.


    Just two days before i got a call from Recovery Agent regarding the payment.

    I am writing you to take due action in this matter and if no settlement will happens , I will launch a complaint in consumer court against
    same with this mail as an evidence that I informed Standard Charted officers in due advance.

    Angry Forcible application for credit card applicatio

    This is complain regarding HDFC credit card. I got almost three times call from HDFC bank for application of credit facitlity, and in all three calls i said no to credit card facility. Still saying no to the service, bank has proceed my credit card application without my concern. i got message on mobile that my application for credit card will be processed within 2 days with reference no. as 12032212867800WD.My customer id is 41775329. SANTA CRUZ GOAThis is worst banking service i ever found in my life. This is my salary a/c otherwise i would have been closed my HDFC bank a/c today only.THANKSABHISHEK MRIDHA
