Hi

I have a HSBC credit card for the last 3 years. During the start of the 4 th year of using the card, the bank had levied annual charges and service taxes on the primary and secondary cards. This prompted me to close the credit card by making full payment except the annual charges. I had called the customer care and explained them to close card and reasoned out that annual charge is the reason for closure. Now I am trying to apply for a PL with HDFC, unfortunately HDFC has put the PL processing to hold as my name is in defaulters list with CIBIL for non payment of annual charges for HSBC Credit card.
I called the customer care, they are ready to zero my credit card account. But the unnecessary update into the CIBIL's list has caused a black mark on my name and I am not able to apply loan during dire needs. Would I be able to level consumer charges against HSBC Credit Card department for such loose action from their end?

Thanks
Arun
