Thread: HDFC Bank Credit Card Harassment and Blocking my Salary Account with out Intimation

Hi,
I Hold HDFC Credit Card Bearing No.4346 7811 0143 4314, I could not make payment to my credit card due to some personal problems and I had paid the minimum balance towards my credit card payment till January 2010. I have been charged approximately Rs. 1850/- per month towards the minimum balance and still there is no reduction in my credit status, to my surprise when I checked my last statement there was an outstanding balance of Rs. 39,281/- and my card limit is only Rs. 30,000/-
I have requested HDFC bank people for a one time settlement when they called me, I have been requesting for settlement from the last 3 months and they are denying for doing any kind of settlement and more over they are calling me more than 20 times in a day for the payment using filthy language and improper words for collecting the payment, when I stopped picking their calls they started calling on my office number and harassing me for payment, they even disturbed my personal life also by calling my husband and other family members for the payment and speaking to them in inappropriate words.
Keeping of my request for the one time settlement now HDFC Bank has kept my Savings Account bearing No. 00811050149913, Himayath Nagar Branch, Hyderabad, on Hold and completely recovered my salary without even informing me nor thinking of my basic financial necessities, I am suffering from serious illness and need money towards my medical expenditure, now as HDFC Bank seized my account and recovered my complete salary I don’t have any Money left with me to meet my medical expenditure, HDFC Bank’s is behaving worse than a pawn broker and acted in a completely in humane way, with this act HDFC Bank is proving that they won’t hesitate to collect money by whatever means and throwing the customers life also at stake.
I treat this as HDFC Bank’s Gift to a woman on International Women’s Day.
I have not authorized HDFC Bank for blocking my account and recovering money without intimation, please give the complete information on how to resolve the Disputes in such cases, also clarify me whether I can approach Human Rights commission or Banking Ombudsman of RBI or any other governing agency upon this inhumane act of not considering the basic necessities of people before blocking their complete salary.
When I checked my account every month HDFC Bank is charging Approximately Rs. 2561/- towards Late fee Over Limit Fee Finance Charges and other charges, this equals to 102% of Interest charge for an amount Rs. 30,000/- you should inform all this details to the customer before issuing the Credit Card.
Hope HDFC Bank will try to concern about people who are in relationship with their bank and resolve the issues in a better way rather than humiliating them with their inhumane acts like this.
