I had my creditcard amount settled for 50K on phone.
In the call the ICICI official mentioned that the first installment would be 10K which will be deducted from my savings account which was already blocked by them and told to pay the remaining amount (40K) in two installments.
I requested the ICICI bank official to send the details regarding the settlement amount through mail.
In the mail It has been mentioned that the settlement amount is 50K towards 69K/-.
One day later I received a settlement letter(in email) with settlement amount 50K towards 76K/-. In this they didn't reduce the first 10K what was deducted from my savings account.
I have paid my 2nd installment of 15K through a cheque and now left with the 3rd installment of 25K.
For the last installment the collection department & Bank use to argue that I should be paying 35K instead of 25K. they didn't consider the 10K for the firtst installment.
I tried to explain this issue to the customer care and found that some of them were not accepting this and some of them seems to be accept but with no clear confirmation. So I decided to have the confirmation through email and asked them send an email regarding the same and also insisted them to give a no due letter(hard copy) once I pay the 25K.
I had an email(3 days before the due date) from the customer care guy to pay 25K as an installment but with no clear confirmation as that was the last payment. Later I insisted him to mention in the mail that this would be my last installment and there wont be any dues from my side after this payment. Later on the last due date morning of the payment this customer care guy called the person who offered me the settlement and later got a confirmation mail that the 25K would be last payment that would clear the dues.
I had the 25K cash in my hand 3days before the last due date and was expecting a clear email confirmation on the issue. On the last day the of due date it was confirmed by email to pay only 25K from the Bank. But the last due date given to me(NOv 5th) was an holiday which I was not knowing before. I went to the Bank with 25K and... It was closed.
Again On Nov 14th I came to Bangalore and visited the Bank to pay the 25K. They didn't accept it since the due date has been void.
I have few questions here.
-> Can they give the last due date on a the bank holiday?? (I think this should have been a day before or a day after)
-> On 3rd nov the collection team called me & said that they would be visiting my home in and collecting the installment amount on 4th nov. I told them to come & collect the amount.But no one has come. Is it not a fault from their side??
-> Now the Bank says since the settlement is void I have to pay the 55K(the principal amount) again by going for a new settlement. Is it Fair??. Though accepting that there was an Issue from their side the Bank official says that I should have made the payment 25K before the due date. Will I not be loosing the total 50K if the issue was not resolved?
-> When I was resolving the issue on call I asked for No due or some kind of letter(hard copy) from the bank which says that I have cleared all the dues after paying this 25K installment. I wanted to visit the Bank, pay the final installment (25K) and get this letter from them. But the customer care guy said they can not provide any such kind of letter but the due becomes zero in the next statement after paying the last installment. Is it True??
It is big amount for me and can't pay 55K again after paying 25k towards the first 2 installments.
What are these Banks doing, trying to Help Public or Killing them?? the collection department & ICICI bank are torturing me. Its really Hell..
Please let me know how to handle this collection department.
I could clearly notice that this BANK tries to manipulate things where ever possible.
Please let me know Can I write a complaint to RBI on this issue.
