    Default ICICI Credit card Dispute

    Hi ,

    Myself, Manoj Kumar Rout, holding an ICICI Credit card had given a standing instruction in December 2006 to my ICICI Credit card no.# 4477 XXXX XXXX 7004 for the bill pay(utility bill payment service) towards payment of my airtel Mobile (Mobile No.9949057715 and Airtel account Number-104-100750878) .

    On May 2008 my airtel Connection converted to a corporate connection with the same mobile number but different Airtel account number(Mobile Number: 9949057715 and Airtel Account Number: 104-100926225), So I called ICICI customer care to cancel the standing instruction and that is the only way we can do it. From May, 2008 onwards my company started paying the bill till date. After that no payment made through the utility bill payment (From ICICI credit card) till February 2009.

    Though the bill amount for my connection was Rs 1316 for the month of February 2009 however, on 18th March 2009 a amount of Rs 21551.76 has been debited from my account and credited to Airtel Hyderabad on 28th may 2009. I raised so many requests towards the refund of the amount debited wrongly from my account (Request no # SR100613895, SR104833762 etc.), but all in vain. In fact for all my email communications with the bank I got number of contradictory replies. At the end I got to know that, AIRTEL can’t refund that amount to me as my connection is a corporate connection. With the help of my company representative Airtel refunded that amount on 8th sept. 2009 to my company and I got a cheque of amount Rs 21552.00, in favor of ICICI credit card# 4477 XXXX XXXX 7004 on 25th Sept. 2009 from my company.

    Though this is the fault of ICICI credit card, they are denying it and charging late payment fees and interest and forcing me to pay another Rs. 10,500.00 for the same.

    For your kind information -
    1. If ICICI is correct saying, I did not cancel the standing instruction then why any payment hasn’t been made from my card for a period of 10 months (between May,2008 to Feb,2009) and suddenly on the month of march 2009 Rs 21551.76 debited from my account against my real bill amount for the concerned month was 1316.00
    2. And the other thing is, while giving standing instruction I had mentioned the Airtel mobile number as well as the Airtel account number which was assigned to me with a copy of the bill at time of submission of application, but while the connection converted to a corporate connection the Airtel account number has been changed. So how the amount has been debited to a different account.

    They are disturbing my peace of mind by harassing in different ways and imposing late payment fees and interest charges for the transaction that hasn’t been made on my part.

    Please guide me to file any legal action against the bank or the issue could be resolved in any other way. Any help would be highly appreciated.

    Sir,


    The above mentioned credit card was settled on 30th July 2007 with an one time payment of Rs. 31600.00 (through cheque no.233089 of Indian Overseas Bank dated 30th July 2007). The same was done against your settlement letter issued on 20th July 2007. Moreover the card was cut into 4 pieces and was couriered back to you.

    But sir, to my surprise after almost 2 years on July 2009, a letter was issued, that an amount of around Rs.25000 is due against the credit card followed by block of my ICICI Bank account no.003401033276. On 10th July 2009 they have debited an amount of Rs. 5391 from the same account.

    In spite of my repeated remainder to your respected officers the issue has not been taken care of. Again a week back they have blocked my another ICICI Bank account no.040501000079. In the mean time already 2 of my ECS has already been dishonored for no fault of mine.

    I am forwarding this letter expecting a positive response from your end.

    Hi ,
    I didn't ask ICICI for the settlement letter.I want ICICI Bank to reverse all the late payment charges and interest charges forcing on me for the transaction that hasn’t been made on my part.

    So please giude me to resolve the issue .

    Hi ,
    This week I received 3 letters and got a call from Mumbai ICICI bank for settlement of dues on my card.In one letter it is mentioned to clear the settlement amount by mar 8 ,2010 and in another letter to clear by Mar 11,2010., And also it is mentioned that
    (1) there was a discussion between me and ICICI customer care on Feb 24,2010 for the settlement. and
    (2) I confirmed them that I have not filed any case against ICICI Bank.

    Neither I called the ICICI customer care for any settlement nor told them that I have not filed any case against ICICI on
    24th Feb 2010 .Last time I called them on Mar 01,2010,as the customer care was not interested to sort out the issue I stopped calling them.No call made from myside on 24th feb 2010 but they are saying it is showing in their system.So you can imagine How they are doing their business .
