Default Fraud by HDFC CC and HDFC Bank

HDFC credit card is in a nexus with the savings bank. I acquired an HDFC credit card in October 2006 and kept paying the minimum due or more whenever I got a statement. They never sent a statement regularly. In June 2007 my wife was expecting and in her eighth month. On the 3rd of July, she was in the hospital waiting for delivery. After the baby was born at 11:30 midnight, I left my phone with her to go home for something and left the phone with her in case she neeed to call anyone. When I reeturned, she told me that some girl called from HDFC collections and spoke very rudely, calling is thieves and said she was sending the collectors immediately. And if we did not pay, there would be dire consequences. When my wife told her she had just delivered a baby and was in hospital, she said she knew about all the lies that people tell when it comes to paying up. That girls name was Pooja and her Supervisor was Megha. Both said they were speaking from HDFC Credit Card division. I called back on that number and demanded an explaination as to what they meant by dire consequenses and why were they calling us at nearly midnight. They were again very rude and said that they could call us whenever they wanted and we better pay up or else… I told them that I needed a statement of accounts and an appology for this behaviour before I paid another paisa to them. To which a chain of email communication began. The apology never came, but threats continued. A few months later, late in the evening a few goons landed up at my doorstep and threatened my mother-in-law, stating that she had a baby in the house and that we should be very careful who we are taking ‘panga’ with. She called me and told me what happened. I informed the police, and they told me to call them if they returned. The goons never did come again, but the phone calls and threats continued. I finally changed my phone number out of frustration. But the emails kept flowing. In January, 2008 HDFC Credit Card made an unauthorised withdrawal from my savings account amounting to Rs. 4800. Because of this an ECS for my car loan to ICICI bank bounced. From the statement of accounts it is evident that the ECS bounced first even though there was balance in my account, and later the cash was withdrawn for the CC payment. That means, the bank is in nexus with the Credit Card department. A clear case of fraud. Again in February 2008 another Rs. 700 was taken from my savings account. When I contacted the bank, they said contact the CC department and the CC department said to contact the bank. Making me run from pillar to post. I finally changed the ECS to another bank account. Once again HDFC has contacted me to clear up the amount in question. Your advice in this matter is solicited.
