Thread: HSBC Credit card settlement

    Default HSBC Credit card settlement

    Hello,
Below is the case till date:

I took this personal card sometime in 2003-2004 in Pune.
I left Pune in May 2005, moved to Bangalore. My mistake, I left it with some outstanding, which I don't remember. I tried to follow up following month to clear outstanding and close the card, I very well remember the call center executive said the card was closed. I now confirmed that the card was closed in May 2005.
Oct 21, 2009, I get a call from a woman claiming to be Inspector from Delhi who said there is a criminal case (CC No 1692/2007, Patiala lok adalat, New Delhi) against me and they have a non-bailable warrant and threatened me that I would be arrested in 2 hours time. On enquiry, she reluctantly gave me HSBC Lawyer's contact (Ms Raina in Mumbai).
When I contacted Lawyer and requested her to withdraw the case at any cost, she said total outstanding is Rs 65500, if I can pay 60% of the outstanding amount in cash (Rs.40,000) immediately at HSBC Bangalore office and give her receipt number, she will be able to get NOC from HSBC and withdraw the case and she did so (according to my knowledge). She also said she will send the NOC to me, which I have not received till date. Shortly after this, she has not been reachable on her phone. Now, the phone is switched off permanently.
All this happened in 4 hours of time, I really went through a mental turmoil and everything seemed to be over once I paid the amount.
When I enquired about the case through a lawyer in Patiala court in Delhi, The case is no given by the Lawyer does not have any relevance to me.
HSBC lawyer claimed that all the case notifications were sent to my Pune office address which I did not receive (I had someone check the mails for me)
I have called HSBC call center number of times for hours, they did not cooperate to give me statements of 2005.
HSBC Card No: XXXX XXXX XXXX 8257

HSBC Lawyer: MS. Raina, Mumbai. Ph: 9716665011
Police Officer: MS Rathod, New Delhi Ph: 9711344497

Both of these numbers are permanently switched off now.
Now if I raise this issue with HSBC recovery department, they are saying they are unable to issue NOC as there is still outstanding amount on this card.

I am really frustrated and harassed by HSBC. please find me a resolution for this.

    Hello,

    Thanks for your response.
Last transaction on this card was on 2-feb-2005
After that I got a call from a person claiming to be police inspector on 21-oct-2009.
No transactions between me and HSBC in between.
The inspector who called me claimed there was a case and gave me a case no in lok adalat, which was filed in 2007. But when I had someone check that case no, the compliant was not pertaining to me.
I was not aware of all this, so I made the payment of Rs 40,000. I am not getting the NOC now from HSBC. They are refusing to talk to me. I do not know whom to approach.

    Hi,

I just read this thread. 2 days back(thusrday) I got a similar call from the afforsaid number nand the person on the other side identified herself as Inspector Rathod, asking me to go home soon, as there is an arrest warrant against me.
When I asked her about it, she did not want to say.

I have started my own investigations and she does not pick up the phone. I used to have a HSBC credit card account, which I had settled with the bank official and I have received a NOC from them. I feel that this racket of 2 woman are trying to extract money from all such previous cases.

The most concerning part is they have traced my new number, which has been changed twice.

Please suggest admin. I see there are multiple complaints

    Default HSBC Credit card Settelment

    Hello,

Below is the case till date:

I took Credit card in April 2005 in Pune.
Oct , 2006, I had made a last payment of my credit card. After that they suppose to give me the zero balance statement ( The main thing that was not settelment ). But without getting the same in January 2007 2-3 people from the recovery agency came to my residence and told me that you have outstanding balance of Rs. 4500/- and started abbusing to me.That day I have asked them for identy proof /authority letter from the HSBC for recovery. They had shown me my settelment letter and asked me to give the amount. After that I had ready to give the cheque but they have forced me to give the cash. Actually I had only Rs. 500 in my packet on that day and after showing them packet they ready to accept Rs.500 in cash and rest Rs. 4000 by cheque.
By getting the settelment letter from that guys I was under impression that now I will be releived from the future problems. But that was not the end of all the scenarios.
In September 2009 got a call from a woman claiming that the lawyer from Delhi who said there is a criminal case (CC No 1054/2009, Patiala lok adalat, New Delhi) against me and they have a non-bailable warrant and threatened me that I would be arrested and asked me to call her senior on 09871046561 to O.P.Sharma.
When I contacted Lawyer and enquired about the case she said total outstanding is Rs 25500/-.
After that I had contacted to HSBC customer care and explain about the calls received from Delhi.
After explaining about all the facts the customer care executive asked me to fax the settelment letter and I had faxed it on the given number. After that he given me the Complain number 2909429870 dated 29/09/2009 and appologised for the their mistake and comitted that you will not received the calls in future.
Now HSBC has updated on CIBIL that I have a total outstanding of Rs 34000/-.
This is affecting my credit score so I have called to customer care centre with last time reference number. The executive has given me Telephone number 02266667070 and asked to contact on that number.
After explaining him all the details he told me that your settelment letter is not valid and you have to pay the outstanding amount.
I am really frustrated and harassed by HSBC. please find me a resolution for this.

Default HSBC Credit card NOC not issued

    Hi,

I just read this thread, my name is Jayanth Ananthakrishnan, I used to hold a HSBC credit card in Pune, before relocating from Pune I cleared all the balance and surrender the card, after 3 years I get a call from a so called Police officer from Noida crime branch stating that they have a non bailable arrest warrant on my name and I will be arrested in the next two hours when I pobed the detail he asked me to get in touch withthe lawyer Mr Rajan. When I contacted him he told me that I have an outstanding balance of 70,000 and If I pay 70% of that within the next 2 hours and send him the scanned copy he will withdraw the case, I rushed to the nearest HSBC bank and paid the money and sent him the copy after this I thought everything is settled and when I am trying to apply for a loan I found out that HSBC has submitted a report to CIBIL stating that I have Rs 35000 overdue! because of which my loan sancation is stalled. This a major racket by HSBC Bank. We have to join hands to fight against this racket.

    Default Misuse of credit card

I had applied for a credit card which was received at my address by my mother. However, within 5 minutes of delivery an imposter came nd took it away. He shoped for arounf 23 K from the card.

Meanwhile, I received a call from the Bank checking with me if I had used the card. When I refused any knowledge, the bank blocked the card.

The imposter has now been caught and judicial procedings are underway. I have promptly shared all the relevant documents with the bank.

Given the above case I want to know if I am legally responsible to pay the amount to the bank.

    Default Clarification

    Dear Sir,

I got your mail id from one of the Forum, where i had the issue with Credit card from One of the MNC co. I had taken the card on 2006, and also got one additional card from them. Total o/s comes around 3.75 Lacs, where I aleady paid nearly 8 lakhs as minimum due & some lumpsum. but still the o/s comes to same 3.75 lacs.

What is the solution to solve the issue. they want the entire o/s by regularly calling me.

    Default outstanding balance

    Hello Sir,

Immediately after I got the HSBC card, I spent around 20K for my cousine brother because he has some emergency in 2004. And said he can take care of the payments. After that I forgot hoping he paid the Dues.

Recently, I came to know that there is 4.5L outstanding balance as of Jan 2011. When I asked my cousine brother, he is saying he will settle and pay this week, next week ... like that he is prolonging issue even now.

I wanted to forget everything and planning to settle myself with HSBC itself. But, I cannot settle the current o/s amount.

Please advise me the best approach in settling this issue.

    Thanks
