    Here's an interesting news-item for all those who have suffered harassment at the hands of HDFC Bank Credit Card Customer Care Execcutives:

    A local court has summoned Aditya Puri, Managing Director of HDFC Bank, to appear in the court on July 17 in connection with a complaint filed against him on charges of extortion under Section 384 of the Indian Penal Code.

    The complainant, local resident Gagandeep Mehta, has alleged that he held an HDFC Bank credit card and had been making regular payments to the bank. However, he changed his residence after which he did not receive any monthly statements.

    The bank issued him a recovery notice for having failed to pay the minimum outstanding dues. The complainant said after receiving the notice he deposited Rs 11,000 on February 2 last year and sought duplicate bank statements from December, 2008, to March, 2009. The bank refused to supply the statements.

    He again deposited a total of Rs 14,000 on three occasions, but the statements were still not supplied.

    Later, the bank offered him a settlement for Rs 27,600. However, when he asked for details of transactions, the bank refused. Instead he was issued a legal notice asking him to pay Rs 47,005. He alleged that he was threatened and abused by bank officials.

    The complainant then filed a complaint in the court of Sunita Gupta, Judicial magistrate, Ist Class, who has summoned Puri on July 17 to stand trial.

    Default harresment from the recovery agents

    Sir /Madam,
    I am Kapil Wadhwa age 41. I was having the HDFC credit card no xxxxxxxxxxxx1860. Aproximately four years back I once recieved a call for the HDFC bank that I could avail the personal loan of Rs.25000/- ( twenty five thousand only) and pay it back on the monthly instalments including the principal amt. as well. As I was not aware of the fact that the interest will be charged as per the card rates neither I was informed of the same. So the laon was availed by me later for the last three years I paid all the instalments on time, but last year we had some huge losses in the business and I had to join a job for the living and make the two ends meet but still tried to keep up with the bamk instalments and also saked for the settelment for the bank for which one of the person who was form the bank's call centre said that I shall send a written letter to the bank and should give it to the executive wo comes to collect the payments and the settelment letter will come within a months time as the process for settelment takes time but till date I did not recieve any letter from the bank's end and now the recovery agents (One of them is named SIMRAN KAUR and MR. KHAN are threatning me with dire consequences if the interest amount is not paid. Now that I do not have any job I am not in a position of paying the exorbitent amount and want the bank to settle the amount for the principal balance wich is now almost Rs.10000/- in four instalments, as I still want to clear the debts .

    IF EMI IS FIXED FOR THREE YEARS IT WILL BE OK WITH AND IT WILL BE A GREAT HELP FOR ME

    I am Liju salas, Age:33, I have an Bank account with HDFC Bank since last three years. My HDFC Bank Account No: 02471000055215 On the basis of that account HDFC bank has issued me a Gold Master Credit Card My Credit Card no is(was):XXXX XXXX XXXX 9635. After proving all these details to you I would like to share and complaint about certain issues and services which is been provided by HDFC CREDIT CARD and BANK DEPARTMENT.

    Here is the list of Complain Against HDFC BANK AND CREDIT CARD DEPARTMENT.

    1) On the basis of my HDFC BANK ACCOUNT without providing a single document HDFC BANK HAS ISSUED ME A GOLD MASTER CREDIT CARD NO XXXX XXXX XXXX 9635. From which you can have an rough Idea about my profile.

    2)I have made the payment of RS-8700/ which is the full and final payment as per the settlement letter, voucher no-22005317, via HDFC BANK Cheque no:476272, dated-17-06-10, Fast five mounth’s my credit card was blocked, you can check it.


    3) The HDFC bank credit card section staff told me when clear on the amount in credit account which one is the settlement letter against I had have paid, after three days NOC, WILL BE REACHED IN YOUR MAILING ADDRESS, After making the payment of Rs 8700, I called in hdfc credit card section in Narayana branch. They tolled me you are paid only baisic amount so pay the balance amount then we will send the NOC. I asked them how much payment I want to pay?. They tolled me we will call you back. They are not call me another three day, then I check the customer service center, they talled me siir We have no documents about your credit card and you don’t need to pay any amount form your side. If whatever amount I make to pay I will be pay,


    Kindly say to or write to me how much amount I want to pay, and kindly send to me my deposited check’s and all the documents from your side. Which one bounced and against I had made cash payment and after you are deposited one more time again without any notice and any phone call from your side, then you are sent to me a legal notice from Chennai. I am not like to write about that, fast few months I am very tensioned from your side, You’r customer service center person’s don’t know about my credit card which one is above mentioned and blocked. Card blocking reason was, One day a customer care person call me “we have a plan for you in hdfc standered life insuranse, on a small installment of 1666. we will credit against your credit card. That tottal amount was 20000. per year. They are not tolled me Rs. 20000/, is blocked in my credit card. My credit card limit is Rs. 30000/ only. HDFC person was came in my home and signed the documents and he went, another day I have recevied a message in my mob. Twenty thousand bloced in your credit card, Immediately I had have send to a fax in credit card section. They talled me ‘your request is received but a processing amount Rs 500 will be charged from your credit card. I am agreed that, But – next month the installment was coming on the statement, and after I call the customer care center, They talled me sir kindly pay the amount right now and we will remove the insurance from your credit card in next month, but they repeat that every month and iam also paid the amount as per statement , final I was take a decision I don’t need this type of credit card and I call in customer care service for blocking the card. That time I have also more payments in that credit card such as, hdfc insurance, and Bajaj health insurance, every thing I need to close.

    Kindly have a look on above mentioned details and tell me where am I at fault. HDFC bank has done a mental harassment on me. Give me single reason of not filling a mental harassment claim of what ever financial loss I have suffered due to blocking of my credit card.
    My only concern is I want the APOLOGY letter from HDFC BANK and I do not want to keep any further relation with such renowned HDFC credit card .
    Sir there are other banks as well with Whom I have a very good relations . And you have no rights to put wrong allegations on me.
    My intention of writing all this to you I want JUSTICE and can not tolerate these types of mental harassment and I am really fade up. Please help me out and Its my humble appeal to all higher Authorities Of Indian Legal Department. Looking forward to your positive response. Thanking You,

    Default Regarding credit card

    credit card number 5243681000945751 bill for the month of sep to oct which was due on24 th of this month. vide which I have requested your staff to pl check and reverse the amount which is twice debited on same date that is 7th sep 10 for Rs 512.50. and the Financial Charges debited to my account for Rs 76/- which stands as it is . Which was assured that this shall be check and reveres but no reply or sms received till date and I have to make the payment on or before 24 th Oct 2010.
