    Default Salary Hold by HDFC Bank (Credit Card)

    Dear Sir,

    I’m "H.Shagul Hamithu” working with "AIG System Solutions Pvt Ltd" in Chennai as a "Senior Associate". My office employee id is 3820786. I have a Salary Account in HDFC Bank (A/C# 05751610001871), West Mambalam(Chennai) Branch on behalf of my company. My HDFC Bank Customer ID is 22778055. And also HDFC issued Credit Card number is 4346772002236239.

    The card limit is Rs.50,000/-, but I had paid more than one Lakh to the interest part.
    So I fed up and ask for the solution, then the provided me a settlement deal.
    The Settlement Approved on May 2009 for Rs.21,000 in 6 installments and the First installment starts from 10th June 2009.

    For Four months I paid the installment, I got sick with chickenpox for around 45 days and my company not credited salary for non working days.
    So I had no full salary in my hand and not able to pay the installment (Rs.6400), this has been communicated to the collection executive and he agreed to collect once I got the salary.

    1st of December, my half month salary was credited and I tried to withdraw the cash to pay the balance of Rs.6400/- to the bank.
    Before that the HDFC bank hold my salary account and took Rs.20,420/- from my salary. I had call the customer care and they said that they do not have any control on this issue and asked me to contact the credit card division. And I have called credit card division, they also replied that they do not have control and asked me to contact to Settlement department. And the Settlement department replied that the settlement got cancelled, so the amount cannot be refund.

    I have explained patiently all the problems which was happened with me to the Bank person Mr.Ashok (044-64598808) and he replied that the bank cannot refund the amount and they have included my name in the "DEFAULTER LIST" to take action against me. And also the given a option to pay Rs.56,270/- to remove my name from “DEFAULTER LIST”.

    I was shocked and I don’t know what to do and where to go, because I have spoken with so many people from HDFC Bank and all are helpless. My whole Family is depends only on my Salary, we are struggling without my salary for 2 months and not paid house rent and food merchant shop also.

    23rd December, I got a call from Settlement department Mr. Rajesh and asked me to pay Rs.30,000/- as an settlement for balance of Rs.56,270/- . Again I have explain all the issues which I have faced, then he said he will call me with a better option and I was wait to hear any good news to get my money.

    After long time of waiting, 30th December I got a call from the card settlement division Ms.Jayashree (09381437967) introduced herself that she is the manager of Mr.Rajesh, and offered Rs.18,000/- in single installment and Rs.11,000/- in two installments. I requested her that my family is depends on my salary only and I have paid more than triple of money which I had used in card. The HDFC Bank took Rs.20,420/- for Rs.6,400/-, so please close this issue and allow me to live life.

    The banker Ms.Jayashree said they don’t have any option and you can pay Rs.11,000/- on 4th Jan 2010 and rest of Rs.11,000/- on Feb 2010. Since there was no way and I have agreed to pay Rs.11,000/- on 4th Jan 2010 Monday.

    On Jan 1 2010 Friday, I was happy to take my salary to resolve my all money problems like House rent, Food merchant bills, phone bills and much other money issues. But there was a big shock that the Bank Holds my salary money of Rs.56,270/-, Again and again they freeze my account and now where to ask, I literally crying.

    I have called Ms.Jayashree (09381437967) and explain that again my account has been hold by the bank, she replied that to do not worry and she will look into the matter once she came to office.

    On 2nd Jan Saturday, I had ring for thrice and finally she replied that she cannot do anything and asked me to call the Senior Manager of Credit card division Ms.Latha (09380240933), I have introduced myself and explain the issues to her. First of all she rudely points me that you are the defaulter and cheating to the bank. And also she shouted that the bank had recovered the cash and no point of talking and the phone has been disconnected by her.

    On 4th Jan Monday, Again I called tried reach Ms.Latha the senior manager of credit card division, but another person attended my call and replied she is busy.
    Finally I had reached her and requested her to unhold my salary account, but she refused to talk and shouted me that do not disturb then finally disconnected my phone improper manner.

    I didn’t know what to do and then came to know from my friend that to make a complaint with consumer court to resolve this issue.

    I’m helpless now and rely on your help. I do request you to take appropriate actions against HDFC bank as because of this entire thing, I have mentally suffered and depress a lot.

    I also expect the "Court Of Law" to force HDFC bank to withdraw my money and also withdraw my name back from the "DEFAULTER LIST" as it really spoiling my reputation and hurting my self-respect. I hope that being the helping body for the consumers, you will review the entire thing and please take the appropriate actions against the bank.

    Boss you go to court take advice of good advocate..that will be only solution

    I didn’t know what to do and then came to know from my friend that to make a complaint with consumer court to resolve this issue.

    I’m helpless now and rely on your help. I do request you to take appropriate actions against HDFC bank as because of this entire thing, I have mentally suffered and depress a lot.

    I also expect the "Court Of Law" to force HDFC bank to withdraw my money and also withdraw my name back from the "DEFAULTER LIST" as it really spoiling my reputation and hurting my self-respect. I hope that being the helping body for the consumers, you will review the entire thing and please take the appropriate actions against the bank.

    Before that the HDFC bank hold my salary account and took Rs.20,420/- from my salary. I had call the customer care and they said that they do not have any control on this issue and asked me to contact the credit card division. And I have called credit card division, they also replied that they do not have control and asked me to contact to Settlement department. And the Settlement department replied that the settlement got cancelled, so the amount cannot be refund.

    I have explained patiently all the problems which was happened with me to the Bank person Mr.Ashok (044-64598808) and he replied that the bank cannot refund the amount and they have included my name in the "DEFAULTER LIST" to take action against me. And also the given a option to pay Rs.56,270/- to remove my name from “DEFAULTER LIST”.

    I was shocked and I don’t know what to do and where to go, because I have spoken with so many people from HDFC Bank and all are helpless. My whole Family is depends only on my Salary, we are struggling without my salary for 2 months and not paid house rent and food merchant shop also.

    23rd December, I got a call from Settlement department Mr. Rajesh and asked me to pay Rs.30,000/- as an settlement for balance of Rs.56,270/- . Again I have explain all the issues which I have faced, then he said he will call me with a better option and I was wait to hear any good news to get my money.

    After long time of waiting, 30th December I got a call from the card settlement division Ms.Jayashree (09381437967) introduced herself that she is the manager of Mr.Rajesh, and offered Rs.18,000/- in single installment and Rs.11,000/- in two installments. I requested her that my family is depends on my salary only and I have paid more than triple of money which I had used in card. The HDFC Bank took Rs.20,420/- for Rs.6,400/-, so please close this issue and allow me to live life.

    The banker Ms.Jayashree said they don’t have any option and you can pay Rs.11,000/- on 4th Jan 2010 and rest of Rs.11,000/- on Feb 2010. Since there was no way and I have agreed to pay Rs.11,000/- on 4th Jan 2010 Monday.

    On Jan 1 2010 Friday, I was happy to take my salary to resolve my all money problems like House rent, Food merchant bills, phone bills and much other money issues. But there was a big shock that the Bank Holds my salary money of Rs.56,270/-, Again and again they freeze my account and now where to ask, I literally crying.

    I have called Ms.Jayashree (09381437967) and explain that again my account has been hold by the bank, she replied that to do not worry and she will look into the matter once she came to office.

    On 2nd Jan Saturday, I had ring for thrice and finally she replied that she cannot do anything and asked me to call the Senior Manager of Credit card division Ms.Latha (09380240933), I have introduced myself and explain the issues to her. First of all she rudely points me that you are the defaulter and cheating to the bank. And also she shouted that the bank had recovered the cash and no point of talking and the phone has been disconnected by her.

    On 4th Jan Monday, Again I called tried reach Ms.Latha the senior manager of credit card division, but another person attended my call and replied she is busy.
    Finally I had reached her and requested her to unhold my salary account, but she refused to talk and shouted me that do not disturb then finally disconnected my phone improper manner.

    I didn’t know what to do and then came to know from my friend that to make a complaint with consumer court to resolve this issue.

    I’m helpless now and rely on your help. I do request you to take appropriate actions against HDFC bank as because of this entire thing, I have mentally suffered and depress a lot.

    Default Beware of HDFC credit cards !!!

    My (never used) HDFC credit card was stolen in a robbery that took place in my rental house at Noida. I lost 2.5 lacs worth of goods ....the foolish thief used the credit card after 5 months of lodged FIR and in the process - got caught
    Unfortunately, i never was aware that my card was missing; as my entire suitcase was taken; and i listed things out of my memory power only, those things, that were important, and i missed out on this credit card...also lots of other documents were taken by the thief..Had i known, i would have blocked the card by that time itself..that would have been the most sensible thing to do..who would have wanted another 40k losses....

    Meantime, good old HDFC recovery guys harassed me to limit. Even after providing them the Police Statement with FIR, Dispute charges, they still said that I am liable to pay the amount as i did not block the card on time...

    I said, "culprit is caught and is willing to pay", why harass me ? They say, they cannot talk to culprit....I have to take money and give it to them..(Which is not possible as in this case the thief is having criminal brothers and i cannot go to them and ask for refund)

    NOTE -> Major Issue with Banks is that "they will NOT get insurance return (yups, all Cards are insured) in cases where thief is caught"..

    So , bank will never help you to catch the thief. Like in this case, they never gave address of shops (there are 11 Archies Gallery in Gurgaon alone) and the regular credit card list that bank provides you will never make any sense until the TIN number of CARD SWIPING Machine is associated with relevant shop address...But who will do this for you...How i wished.. Indians were not so corrupt...sobs

    In most of the cases one can get video footage (every small shops in metro cities have installed cams, not for you or for me, but for their security and vigil) Most shops had stored footage for 7 straight days...The bank guys knew the issue was hot (most of the times they know) & that the culprit video can be managed if they can ask the shopkeepers to save the footage for investigation purpose...but good old HDFC still never cared to call the shopkeepers...We lost vital clue...If say they saved footage and the thief was total stranger, you could still trace him by putting ads in newspaper...(Anyways, lets leave this part)

    I cannot disclose how the thief was caught, but UNFORTUNATELY he was caught. Why unfortunately, because his brothers are threatening me till date and bank guys have no importance to police records...This case even got media coverage...

    At the end of the day, HDFC and i think most private banks all do the same thing that they are very good at - they will call your relatives & do character assassination....Next step...send recovery agents who are not even on the bank employee list...so in case you move to police, bank will have no relation with the case...

    Wish we had real life heroes too..............If only.... (sobs sobs ...till my last breath)

    Default HDFC bank has taken my salary on hold/lien

    Hi

    HDFC bank has taken my complete salary on hold/lien due to pending HDFC credit card payment.

    Wherein, I was already in the process of making a settlement payment upon receiving my 1st salary but that is on hold and do not have any money to bare the monthly expenses or to make payment.

    Please help and explain what can be done, also can they legally withdraw my money from my account without my permission.
