Hi,

I hold a manhatten credit card of Standard Charted.

They did not send me any hard copy or soft/e copies of bills for the months for Jan and Feb and i got my march e-statement.

Where i saw interest charges and latepayment fees charged to my account.
I immediately sent a mail asking for feb and Jan bills stating i did not receive them, the amount payable was 3K something and out of which 1.8K was a valid pay and the rest were late charges.
I asked them to reverse the charges as it was their fault. On which i got a reply that it was my duty to check if the statements did not reach and not theirs.
I dont think thats my duty. And they did the same in Jan too but at that pt in time i payed them their charges.

I sent them a mail saying i will not pay those additional charges and am willing to pay 1.8K which was the valid amount i used. and asked them to close my CC account.

They didnt bother replying there after.
I have proofs of the statements reaching me late (where in mail the agent as aknowledged tht bills were sent late but it was my duty to check with them before)

Now after 9 months i got a call from them saying the charges on my account are 6K and if i dint pay it they will black list me!

I told them i wasnt paying all that as i can only pay 1.8K which is the right amount and that i need an apology from them for having been irresponsible at their end.

No replies yet. This amount isnt big, and i actually have to sepend more time and energy taking dirty calls and writing mails. But i cant let them go! They will do this to more people.
