I, Ritesh Nigam holding BARCLAYS Credit Card No. 4339 4888 0844 5036. Since 01/08, I have been charged an amount of 6741.60/- as a membership fee from Barclays Priority circle... which was told to me as free service. In spite of my repeated asking the charge structure was never told to me and it was told that it is absolutely free and I have to pay nothing for this membership.
I had received a call from Delhi office of BARCLAYS BANK from 011-45582500 in month of November and there executive told me that my name is selected for Priority circle facility... i repeatedly asked him about charges, he told me its free of cost again and again. They had recorded for quality assurance also but the charges and amount was nowhere conveyed. Even I have not received any documentation from Barclays till date. I was neverconveyed nay communication in return regarding for Rs 6741.60 which I need to pay. Till date i have not received the physical statement also. They also told me to gift a Rs 2000/- tourist bag & some vouchers also. But I haven’t received anything than how can they are blaming me & asking me to pay this amount. On what basis ?
I had called up BARCLAYS BANK Call center regarding this matter many times, but they said that they will look into the matter and get back to me, but nobody is giving me any response in this matter. I have written numerous mails to service@barclays.com and headservice@barclays.com which they have acknowledged also. Their email reference no’s is Ref no: CAS-2842532-CA1R3I.In one of their mails they told me that they would have reversed the charges had i called them within 21 days of debit.

I have also given emails to reverse my charges, and that i will not pay the amount at any cost. Now every day they used to call me 7-8 times a day from collection department regarding payment & when I denied them they have entered my name is CIBIL as defaulter & because of that my personal loan got rejected of Rs. 240000/- which I needed urgently.

When I again called up Barclays Bank they are asking me to pay RS.16872/- for settlement charges & than they will remove my name from CIBIL.
I have been holding CITIBANK and ICICI credit cards for last 5 years in which there has never been default.
Now I am facing lot of problems in getting loans. This is just very tormenting.
Please help me in this matter I have been cheated from BARCLAYS card, this is the case of openly cheating the customer...and looting them for unwarranted charges
