    Dear Sir,

    I am Vikrant Joglekar and have a very similar experience with HSBC credit card.HSBC has issued me a gold card with xxxx xxxx xxxx 1640 in 2006 promising about a life time free card which I do have used for less than a year, I used to pay the bills well in time till I was using the card. Being an IT professional I moved of the country for some time and stopped using the card.
    In Dec 2007 when I was back in India I recived few calls from HSBC saying for some 2000/- as the dues when I checked with them what are the dues for they have not given any satisfactory answer to this I requested them to revert if any annual fees they have leveied on me as it was a life time free card. I also have spoke to there manager from chennai and asked him to cancel the card with immidiate effect as I am not using the same.
    Due to my professional requirements I have again moved out of India and have not heard from the HSBC over these years assuming the issue is closed.
    Recently I recived a legal notice from HSBC on my parents address stating that they are going to proceed with legal criminal action against me due to non payment of 18000/-
    I really cannot understand the fraudulant behaviour of the HSBC, it is very harassing and torturus to get such notices where in HSBC thmeselves have commited a fraud and breach of trust against me.
    Please help me in this issue

    Default I am the credit card holder still the card showing active in my name Aditti.

    This is the certain thing related to my Credit card i want to highlight.

    Hello All,
    I am Suresh . I am using HSBC credit card since 4 years. I got the HSBC credit card in office campus thru their executive. when HSBC executive vistited the campus area and approached me about Credit Card that time he assured me that "This HSBC credit card is specially for your company and its a life term free card. There is no annual charge or any hidden charge". In promotion i got one alarm watch also and i did not pay a single rupee to get this card. I enjoyed the card for 2 years and i did not pay any annual membership charge. I was happy with the service and every time i made the payment before DUE date.
    In february 2009 when my card got expired and i was not aware of that and never asked HSBC to renew my card or to send me a new card. same month i got the new HSBC card with same number. even i never asked them to renew the card. The new card with same number is having the expiry date of march 2012.

    As I shifted to bangalore , I am not using the HSBC credit card from the last 8 months. so I didnt see my credit card bills upto last month. I saw the last month bill with the due amount of Rs. 2000/- . I really surprised and verified the previous months bills. I observerd that they mentioned the membership fee of rs 700 in the month of May and then onwards they imposing peanlty and services charges etc and made the figure Rs.200+. I contacted the customer care people and explained the same to them. They told me to pay the minimum charges of Rs. 450 (approximatly) and then call them back. I did the same and call the customer people today. Now they are telling that my card is free for only 3 yrs. and I need to pay the annual fees in order to continue the credit card services . I dont understand why these people are changing their words after paying the due amount.

    I am writing this to inform you how the banks are cheating the people with credit cards.

    Default regarding credit card

    Respected sir,
    I Ashok Harne would like to inform that for last three month i am getting calls on my mobile no 9910864938 fron following nos 01145570500 /0319 /0328 /0320 form punjabi bagh officer and also to my employeer regarding the payment of the same and also on my land line 01132601896 in thretning wording and nonsens laungage to me as well as to my wife and daughter by mr sunil and mr rehan ( mother and sister 's gali) regularely though we did not responded too much and they settled the card and brought to my notice but i did not signed the same and refused to pay now they are pressing me to pay the same amount in more instalmet monthly but as i am not in position to pay the same too. My employer too warn them not to disturb in duty hours but they did not listen to that too.
    My humble request to do needful and i am not able to pay more than 8000 in three four instalment monthly as i am not in stable position.

    dear sir/madam,
    this is to inform you that i sachindram roy chowdhury, had applied for credit card of your bank but i have not received it till date and your customer care executive used bad language and deliberately used abusive language against me. the customer care executive's name was khushboo and pooja and call came from number +911132929238,i am deeply hurt by your bank's behaviour kindly take action and deliver my credit card as i have completed all my formalities.

    Default Credit Card Fraud by HSBC

    Dear Sir/Madam, Card No-4384599981113987
    My Self Davendra Sharma, (working as a Assitant Manager in a MNC) is reciving a threatning calls from the No. 011-47622784 for the payment of a credit card, which I had never used.
    Please note that I had never ever applied for any card to HSBC bank, but suddenly I received a call from above said no. (Name :- Mr. Avinash) and asked for the payment of arround Rs. 100,000.00. I have told same thing to him but he is not able to understand and keepon forcing me to give payment and also use to give threathning with unproffessional and abusing langauge.
    Mean while, I have also visited to HSBC bank (Noida Branch) to take ministatement, but he had denied to give the same and said me,:-“we don’t give statement to those whoes card is not in working condition.”
    Then, I have requested to Mr. Avinash to give me the detial of shopping, but he has not given me the same. Then I have requested to him to give Mobile No. for which this card has been issued, but again he has not given the same.
    Now, I would like to tell you one fact that card has been issued to me in the month of May-2008 at the address (H.no-4047 sec 4C, vasundhra) and with Moser Baer Company. And I have left Moser Baer in the month of Nov-2006 and I have left that place in the mont of Nov-2007.
    I have hummble requested to HSBC representative to give me details (like:- a copy of application form, Mobile No, and documents list) to find out the facts as I am also very much interested to know the same beasuse my name is laying into civil case while I am having very clear case history. But no one is giving me any information else Mr. Avinash is using a very wrong & painful langauge to me.
    I hummable request you to interfare for the same matter as it is the question of my prestige as I am working at very higher post in my company.

    Default always show the decline

    I used the credit card in the shop several times but due to some reason their show me the decline.
    Without intimation you cant stop me to use the card.

    Default Complaints against credit Card issued by ABN AMRO Bank

    Dear Sir,
    I am Parthiv Parikh from Ahmedabad.I was holding ABN AmRO Classic card in the year 2005. I received a phone call from the official that they have updated my classic card to Gold card. I refused that offer. The official explained me that there is nothing to lose in updating the card. Since they get some incentive and commission for updating cards, she asked me to do favour by giving consent for upgrading my "CLASSIC CARD" to "GOLD CARD". After making repeated requests for the same, I finally agreed.

    Thereafter, I received a so called Upgraded "GOLD CARD" in place of "CLASSIC CARD" - and ADD ON card in November - December 2005. I also received a charge statement from the bank and to my utmost surprise, the bank charged "UPGRADATION" fee of Rs. 2000/-. I immediately contacted the officials and I have been told that this is the bank policy. I also explained that I have other gold credit cards of other banks which they issued free of cost. U betrayed me. I asked them to reverse the charges. But my efforts have been futiled. Lastly, I vide letter dated 19th December, 2005, I wrote a letter to the Bank for cancellation of the said card and sent them the torn cards.

    Now, I am being harassed by the said bank repeatedly for making payment. I have been threatened by the bank officials that they are going to spoil my credit records. I am a professionally qualified person and working with a reputed company at senior level in Ahmedabad.

    I want yourgoodslves to intervene in the matter and take strict actions against the said bank.
    I can also send you a letter dated 19-12-2005 written by me to the Bank for cancellation of my credit cards.

I am working for An IT company, today if i am applying Home loan i came to know same cannot be process as there is default in payment of my credit card Rs 180000/- and after enquiry got from CIBIL got to know its HSBC Credit card in my name, which i never use nor received. At starting i recived few calls that i have done purchasing but i told them , that i never recived any Card , and i am already not into that location when they mention that they date they have delivered . Request you to help me on this, if there is any credit card showing active in my name do stop it. I want my name to get out of this CIBIL matter. If i dont have a card why do i PAY? Now i recive a legal document after 2 years that i need to pay 180000 ,
    what so i do as i need to apply for Hoam loan , please advise .

    I have same issue , but little different , i recived a notice regading legal notice what to do in this case.

    My name is Sunny Gupta and I applied for credit card nearly 45 days before.My app. no. is356201025910008.All paperwork and verification is done well before 2 weeks.When I called to HSBC customer care then they said your app. is not approved and there is no reasons.Please tell me what to do???

    Default Request all to read RBI guidelines for Credit Card companies

    Dear Aditti,

    Please visit the RBI guidelines for Credit Card companies at

    It has been explicitely stated as below in the document
    --------------------------------------------------------
    (ii) Customer confidentiality

    b. In case of providing information relating to credit history / repayment record of the
    card holder to a credit information company (specifically authorized by RBI), the bank / NBFC
    may explicitly bring to the notice of the customer that such information is being provided in
    terms of the Credit Information Companies (Regulation) Act, 2005.
    c. Before reporting default status of a credit card holder to the Credit Information Bureau
    of India Ltd. (CIBIL) or any other credit information Company authorized by RBI, banks /
    NBFCs may ensure that they adhere to a procedure, duly approved by their Board, including
    issuing of sufficient notice to such card holder about the intention to report him/ her as
    defaulter to the Credit Information Company. The procedure should also cover the notice
    period for such reporting as also the period within which such report will be withdrawn in the
    event the customer settles his dues after having been reported as defaulter. Banks / NBFCs
    should be particularly careful in the case of cards where there are pending disputes. The
    disclosure/ release of information, particularly about the default, should be made only after
    the dispute is settled as far as possible. In all cases, a well laid down procedure should be
    transparently followed. These procedures should also be transparently made known as part
    of MITCs.

    It clearly states that without prior informing you, the bank can not inform CIBIL about your credit history.
    You can certainly back to HSBC at info@hsbc.co.in poiniting this RULE of RBI which they seem to have not obeyed in your case.

    Thumbs down Charging Card Even After Card Expiry

    I was holding a HSBC gold credit card i.e XXXX XXXX XXXX 6285 under corporate scheme and card renewal and other charges are not applicable on that card, which expired in 2009 and neither I renewed that card nor I used that card.


    Also I haven't got any new card after my card expired. So my card expired no new card has been issued to me and there is no outstanding on my previous card but all of sudden after two years of expiry, from the last 2-3 months HSBC recovery agents are calling me again and again and saying that there is an outstanding of around Rs. 9000 on your card.

    On asking about the details of this bill they are saying the you haven't used that card but card has expired and you have to close that credit card account. And now there is an outstanding of 9K.

    But not able to understand for what they are charging me and that too on an expired card also when card is expired and i haven't used the card and there is no usage from my side then how my outstanding bill is Rs. 9K?

    Also Card is expired almost 2 yr back but there is no communication from banks end about this and all of sudden agents started calling me asking for Rs 9K. From last 2 yrs bank haven't made any communication i.e no email communication, no phone communication, no outstanding SMS but now they are ask for Rs. 9000.

    I am asking for the bill from calling agents then they are saying there is no bill but you have to pay Rs. 9K.

    Please suggest what to do in this.
