HSBC credit card fraud and harassment

    Respected,

I am Satish Vathare and working in KPIT Cummins Infosystems Ltd., Pune. I was using HSBC gold credit card no. 4384 5999 9967 6876 from last 3 years.

But last incident made me very dissatisfied about HSBC customer services. The detailed information is as follows:

On the month of October 2008, I received call from HSBC-AIG executive from Mumbai called Subhash telling that the very good services they offered BLAAH… BLAAH … BLAAH…. Actually I didn’t want to go for AIG plan as I had already registered for other insurance plan and I told him too. He told me that you can cancel this policy within a month without cancellation fees, so please enroll it. And I enrolled policy believing that I can cancel it any time. We as a customer need to believe only there vapors from there mouth. What would I would have choice? After that as per the discussion for cancellation of policy after 15 days, I repeatedly called the customer care service from TATA AIG as well as HSBC and email (info@hsbc.co.in) to both (can check the phone calls history / email record communication to HSBC and TATA-AIG). But no one had taken care to give me exact solution. Every time they diverted me to each other (HSBC<->AIG). No one was ready to even cancel the policy.

Then I decided to not to call any of the costumer care people neither from HSBC nor from AIG, as no one is ready to even talk with me and diverting me here and there. Last, as final step from my side, I visited HSBC main branch office near Bund Garden, Pune. I meet the people called Raju Pilley, Amar Sant, Vinay Dube, Sudir Nair, Avinash. Even there I received disappointments. All of them talked with me very rudely apart from help. They said we can’t help you. Even I asked him to whom shall I contact? No reply from there side.

Meanwhile I was getting call from HSBC care to pay the amount, and always I was telling them whole story. Every time they used to tell me, we will get back to you. And no reply further. Even worst case, some times later, they used give me missed calls on my cell number. That was very ridiculous.

I left the topic about HSBC from my life. But meanwhile I received call from person called Rajesh (9590355556: Bangalore) (his HSBC manager: Prakash: 080-66432312) about the settlement. Actually I didn’t want to settle down this matter, wanted to go to consumer court but again thought instead of dispute we can settle the matter. So as per the settlement amount I paid Rs. 2000 to that person Rajesh.
He said he will send the settlement letter on my email. But I didn’t receive any settlement letter yet. After one month (i.e. couple of week before) I received call from HSBC Delhi office called Nishant (011-45541511) saying please pay again the settlement amount. I told all the incidents to him. He told that he will revert back to me by checking the status. Till date he didn’t called me. And till date I am receiving the SMS and email to pay the remaining amount from HSBC care.

So that’s all about my story

I wanted to file case against HSBC bank. As they have wasted my valuable time, my mental stability, harassed on phone calls by repeating the same story to each customer executive. I could not be able to concentrate on my work, caused my work loss. Between that I lost my jobs even.

    Please advice my further steps.

I blocked my Credit card on 15/10/2009 due to security reaasons and specifically told them that I don't want any replacement card. Now instead the card(4862 6989 0065 1241) was issued without my permission. The card was not dispatched to me as well.Annual charges,Card replacement fee, service tax, primary card membership fees was charged on this card. When I talked to the customer care executive about this issue they informed me that the issue will be closed and I wont be getting any bills from the next month (as per the customer care executive from Hyderabad). They also said that if I receive the bill again then I have to inform them again. Again I informed them as the case was not closed and I got the bill the very next month. Now when I have specifically told that I don't want any replacement card, a new card was generated(and the card was also not dispatched to me) for which I am being asked to make a payment which I really don't think as a genuine act from such a reputed bank. Now I also received a service reference number- 331120098242, when I was told that I wont be getting any bill from the next month, when I talked to one of the customer care executive(Bhaskar) on 23rd November at 5:55p.m.All the calls starting from the point when I asked for the first time on 15th October, 2009 are recorded by the bank so you can listen to them if I am saying any wrong here. I specifically told that I dont want any replacement card. Now everyday I am harassed everyday by the bank's collection department. what should I do now?

    Angry HSBC Credit Card Fraud

I have also the bad experience with HSBC Credit card.

I got a call for my HSBC card – 4384 5999 1477 6637 which I closed long time back for some outstanding amount 6750.90.

This is very shocking and harassing for me as I have already closed this card long time back with full outstanding so I am not liable to pay anything and the worst part of the story is the agent called me for collection saying “ I will soon send the agent for recovery”.

How come he can make such statement and harassed me? Is this the way customer relationship is maintained in HSBC? I was really shocked to know that.

I have not received any statement since one year and all of a sudden I got a call from your recovery agent. When I talked to their custom care department they just transfer my call from one place to another and not taking any request. From the last mail in this blog I have seen this is not a new thing for them but this time I want to show them what a common man can do against injustice so i wrote here. Can anybody has any idea what to do in this case??

    Default HSBC Collection Agent Fraud

    Hello Sir,

I had a HSBC credit card (Card no 4384 5999 0864 6524). I had cancelled this card by paying all the dues in 2008. That time I was told that total due was Rs. 16219 but after paying off the complete amount I did not get any no due certificate as promised earlier. I still have the receipt of the last amount paid with me.
Now, after 2 years, in 2010, someone from HSBC called me and told me that my card was still active and the total amount outstanding was Rs.12000 and that my record has been sent to CIBIL. I was shocked to hear this as I thought I had cleared all the dues and cancelled the card. This person accepted that it was their fault that I was not correctly told about the total outstanding amount that time. This person also told me to transfer the money to an SBI account and after that he will clear my name from CIBIL and also send me a no due certificate. I asked him why should I send the money to an SBI account and not some HSBc account. Also, he refused to send me any details from an HSBC mail account.

I have decided not to make the payment because of the following reasons.
    1. First of all it was HSBC's fault not to tell me the correct outstanding amount 2 years back and they have failed to show me any transaction details as well when I am quite sure I did not spend that much money on the card.
    2. This HSBC personnel looks like a fraud to me. Why should I make the payment to someone's personal account in another bank? He is saying this case is with HSBC Delhi and that's why he cant even send someone from HSBC Kolkata to collect the amount after showing the identity proof.

I am giving all the details here:
    My card no: 4384 5999 0864 6524
    Name: Kaustav Singha Roy

    HSBC Collection Agent's details:
    Bank Acct No: 30652112278
    Bank: SBI
    Name: Devendra Singh

Please let me know what should be done here as I am being harassed and threatened everyday by these people.

    Regards,
    Kaustav Singha Roy
