    Post Phoenix ARC (Kotak Mahindra Bank). Not Issuing No Dues Certificate after clearing dues

    I had ABN AMRO Credit Card 5415382305​756728 with me in 2004-05. When I checked my CIBIL report in 2012 it was showing amount due with my card as 5642/- Rs and company name as Phoenix ARC (Kotak Mahindra Bank).

    When I contacted Phoenix ARC and asked for the details of transactions made through this card they did not give me any proof of transactions made and just insisted on clearing dues.

    I promptly cleared all the dues Rs.5642 /- through current dated ICICI cheque on 17/08/2012. And got the receipt for payment made. Payment was made at Kotak Mahindra Bank, Banashankri Branch, and Bangalore. I was told that my No Dues Certificate will be ready in 3 weeks and CIBIL records would be updated at the same time.


    Its nearly 2 months now and I have not got my No Dues Certificate yet. I have been following up with bank from 1 month and not getting any satisfactory response.

    I have written several mails to rard.customercare@kotak.com and Rardcards.Bangalore@kotak.com and called them. Staff at Bangalore office says that delay is from head office Mumbai in sending NDC. When contacted Mumbai office they say Bangalore office is responsible for issuing NDC and redirect me back to same people.

    I even approached kotak banks grievance cell @ service.bank@kotak.com they just washed of their hands saying it is not kotak card and asked me to contact
    to rard.customercare@kotak.com .

    Now they have stopped responding to my emails.

    I would like to move to consumer court over this and also complain to RBI Ombudsman about the negligent attitude of bank staff and customer care as I am suffering because of their inefficiency and indifference to customers. Please help me with this.


    This was not expected out of such a professional bank like kotak Mahindra.

    Default Pheonix ARC (Kotak Mahindra Bank) Issued NOC but not reporting the collecting amount to CIBIL.

    Phoenix ARC R1CP214613 for ABN Amro Card which was closed in 2003,
    and report to CIBIL in 31-07-2012. pending amount of Rs 24416.

    I have cleared the amount in Oct 2012 and got NOC after continuous followup in the month of Jan 2012.

    As of today is has not been updated in CIBIL report.

    Phoenix ARC executive says Customer care need to update, Customer care not replying.

    When contacted CIBIL its says every time the same answer, mail pasted below.

    Phoenix ARC (Kotak Mahindra Bank). Not Updating CiBIL even after Issuing No Dues Certificate after clearing dues.

    I have already paid the amount way back in Oct 2012. why cant the same
    be communicated to CIBIL.

    I have received the NOC ( attached ). Are you guys saying that the NOC
    provided by me is fake.

    For your information this NOC is provided to me by your representative
    Mr. Sachin (CC is marked to him)

    whats is problem reporting it to cibil. what are u upto,

    I have not met with such a irresponsible organisation in the past.

    Please update the same and failing which I have to go ahead and
    forward this mail to RBI and consumer court too.

    Default ABN - AMRO Bank Credit Card

    This is Gokula Krishnan from Chennai. I have been issued ABN AMRO Bank Credit card may be around the year 2006-2007. Due to certain reasons I have closed the credit card after discussing with ABN AMRO Bank customer care executive by paying Rs. 1450 as one time payment. Also got No due certificate from Bank. In the year 2012 I have applied for loan, but was rejected for CIBIL Score. I obtained CIBIL report of mine by paying fees and found that ABN AMRO bank is showing due as on date. Then I have communicated with CIBIL about the dispute and in turn CIBIL contacted the Banker and after that CIBIL has sent a mail to me stating that ABN AmRO Bank details have been removed from my report, i.e the issued closed. This happened on 14/6/2012 vide mail received from CIBIL.

    But yesterday I got a call from a person named Mr. Surya Narayanan claiming as Panel Lawyer of RBS. He threatened me that Arrest warrant has been issued on me. I have to pay balance due of Rs. 5350.00 immediately. I was arguing with him that all the issue has already been closed. But he didnt listen my words. Instead he told that Inspecter is sitting near by, so you talk directly to him. Then I was confused as I was out of station I dont have proof in my hand. After that I called him again and told my friend will pay the amount, please let us know the name in whose favour cheque has to be issued.

    Mr. Surya Narayanan replied that he will SMS the details. Instead I got a call from a person called Mr. Sunil. He told that lawyer called him and told that I will be paying the amount. He asked my mail id to send the details. I asked his mail id he gave sunilkotak@gmail.com. I asked his official mail id. He replied no official mail id is given for him. I replied then I cant trust you whether you are really a bank employee. Then he gave me rardth.chennai@kotak.com.

    I asked the name for issuing the cheque. he said please issue cheque in favour of "Phoenixtrust". I said i can issue only in the name of RBS, I dont know whose is Phoenix trust. He simply cut the phone. After some time, Lawyer Mr. Surya Narayanan came in another mobile number. He told Phoenix is the company dealing with these issues. You can issue cheque. I said, I already paid and got No due. If I pay this amount, then how can i get returned this amount from bank. He said that he will get back the money from the bank after all the proof of already paid details have been submitted and accepted by the bank. I still got doubt and asked about Phoenix. he said ABN AMRO bank was taken over by RBS. RBS was taken over by Kotak Mahindra bank. Now kotak mahindra bank was taken over by Phoenix. I am confused. So i told him, you dont worry since i have proof i will face to consuquences.

    He again threatened me that warrant has been issued. he only hold it for me. If I not agreeing for his decision, then I will be arrested and imprisoned for 15 days. Since today and tomorrow is holiday I cant apply for bail.

    I'm confused.

    phoenix arc is the worst company and NO.1 in harrassing the customers, of not removing their names from cibil.
    it is better to not pay any money to phoenix arc.
    there is no point in making payment to phoenix arc,as they are not ready to remove names from cibil.if they do may be they take few months to update in cibil.there is a lot of mental tension after making payment.
    i made a payment to JM FInancial for one of my card,they updated in cibil in one month.

    i made a payment and they promised me to remove name from cibil in 1 month..they never removed my name from cibil..now its 2 months..
    even i raised cibil dispute..useless..time waste...

    Angry Updation to Cibil

    Hi ,

    I was using Barclay credit card and my cibil report showed me that i have some dues on the same , i have contacted to you guys and cleared the amount . i have also received NDC from your side dated 2/05/2013 . and its communicated to me the bank will send updated data to cibil by 17/05/2013. but when contacted to cibil they have not received any updation request from your bank . Raised the dispute report and on which your bank has replied that i still need to clear the dues . This is height of irresponsibility . Can any body tell me what else you require and is your bank gets some kind of appreciation on giving so much trouble to customer.

    And please dont reply saying we are looking into this , give me exact time by which my cibil is going to be upadted.

    Phoenix ARC R1CP418269 for ABN Amro Card (Rs.6568) which was closed this month and still they have not reported to CIBIL.
    i paid the amount (DD#772311 & Rs.6570) in the name of "PHOENIX ARC".

    still i have not received the NOC LETTER from them.

    why their responding to call and mail....????????????

    Please update the same. if fail to updated to CIBIL. i should handle different way to do this.

    Default Phoenix Arc(RBS/KOTAK MAHINDRA), threatening and using abusive language and slangs

    Got a call from Kotak Mahindra a month back. they were asking to repay the pending amount. it was agreed that the settlement will be made for Rs 20,000 in 5 installments. But I asked them to show the scanned loan documents which they failed to produce in front of me. Due to my examinations I stopped responding to their calls. After a month some person named Rajinder (Ph: 9136777396) called me up and used abusive languages and threatened me that he along with his colleagues will come to my place and will do any thing to collect money. Now Kotak Mahindra is asking to pay Rs 18000 at one go. but they are saying that payment will be done in favour of Phoenix and they will issue NO DUES CERTIFICATE in one month. Kindly assist and resolve my complaint. I am ready to pay the agreed amount if they will issue a NO DUE CERTIFICATE immendiately while receiving the payment.

    Please take the required action against the person whose name and Phone number is mentioned above as threating someone especially a women should not be forbidden.
