I went to Dr. Nigam in Apollo clinic for burn injury. on the very first day of the injury i went to see him in his OPD timings. He asked my husband to get Silverex, gloves and bandage for the dressing of wound. the burn was of second degree.
Even when the dressing material was bought by us, he charged 800/- (Dressing) + 400/- (OPD charges). The billing showed the dressing was done for 3rd grade burning, when the burns were of 2nd degree.
While talking to the doctor, he claims that all the big hospitals in Gurgaon charge like that. However, for my next dressing I went to Columbia Asia. The charges were nominal that is 113/- (dressing) + 500/- (OPD charges), when all dressing material was provided by them.
I request consumer court to take necessary action against Apollo clinic or Dr. V.K. Nigam, who charge whatever they want to. When the patients are already suffering, they fill their pockets with money.
