    Sub: Replacement of chassis because of manufacturing defect

    Hello Sir/Madam,

    I had purchased a Safari 2.2 Dicor VTT from Sterling Automobiles, Noida in October 2007. The Registration Number is DL5CE 0483. Few months back I gave my car for service to Dynamic Automobile Service Station in Noida, after 3-4 days of servicing I found a problem in car, car was going towards right. Next day I showed the problem to the service station and they kept the car with them for one day saying the alignment person is on leave today and we will get this checked tomorrow morning. When I visited them next morning they said that your car chassis is broken and that needs to be replaced, but as they don’t have the specialization in doing so and never changed it they recommend me to take the car to another dealer.

    So I towed the car to my hometown and showed the problem to Vasu Automobiles in Meerut city, there they first applied it for insurance but as the car is not accidental so the insurance company refused the application. After that they get the chassis WELDED in their body shop instead of replacing it. After two months of welding it broke again from the same place, this time they said the person welded it does the wrong job and we will get this welded again and this time you wont face any problem.

    Still then every 15 days I am getting alignment problem, they always fixed that and it happens again in 10 days. I am now fed up with this quick fix thing.

    If the car is not accidental then I think this is a manufacturing defect and the chassis should be replaced instead of welded every time.

    I usually take out my family in car and because of welded chassis I might get into an accident. Family and me are on high risk on road due to this bad service by the dealer. I am sure TATA MOTORS don't want their customers to be on high risk while driving on road.

    I request you to lodge a complaint and taking this in account as manufacturing defect, my car chassis should be replaced by the company. Your quick action on the same is highly appreciated as everyday I am putting my family and me on risk.

    the same case is with me brother. they are offering me a 50% discount on the chassis. and 30% on labour after a fight with them for 11 months. I am asking for a free replacement or else i am taking them to court.
