    Default Product Defect on TATA INDIGO MANZA brand NEW car.

    Hi Consumer court;

    My complain is regarding the my Newly purchased TATA INDIGO MANZA Aura ABS car on 22nd April 2010.

    I have alreday visited the service station with product related issue for more than 6 time as of now in a span of two months.

    Issues faced by me in the my car are:

    1. Rear both suspension are faulty which needs replacement.
    2. Steering signal cut out switch for right side is not functioning as expected which needs replacement.

    This issues were identified on day two istself when i have purchased my car. Till date none of this issue are been addressed. Also please refer the below mail transaction which i have initiated with TATA motors's Manu Sethumadhavan - Manager-Customer Support. Still i am struggling to get all issue addressed after rigrously following up since last two months.

    Dear Manu,

    Further to i spending and escalating the issue to the Bharati Dealer principal, yesterday they have come up with a new diagnosis that the issue is not the rear suspension but it’s with the rear frame on which the car is balanced.

    My feedbacks of the open issues are as below:

    1. Rear both suspension are faulty which needs replacement. === Replacement has been done twice still when I drove the car with 4 passengers, the noise which we had identified during your visit, is still there. Even though rear suspension are been replaced the noise is still there. I have been communicated that the issue is now with the rear frame on which the car is balanced.

    2. Steering signal cut out switch for right side is not functioning as expected which needs replacement. === Part is replaced still I need to check and acknowledge if the issue is addressed.

    As on date again my car is lying since last Saturday (19th June 2010) at Bharati automobiles service station.

    Overall I am not at all happy with the way my car issues are handled. I really would expect a compensation for all the physical and mental stress which I am going through due to my NEW INDIGO MANAZA car.

    This is regarding TATA Motors very poor product & non road worthy vehicle SUMO GRANDE.
    I have purchased new SUMO GRANDE on the lunch of the car, this car has just been PAIN IN MY ASS. I nearly lost my life with my family in this car due to mall function in Breaking system. This car is sent to the workshop for more then 50 times in 26 months.
    I am attaching all the mails which I have sent to TATA & there responce as proof. Still I stand no were. I think company should take the car back.

    Dear Sir.

    I am very sorry to inform you that the car sold to me is a non road worthy vehicle, seen I have purchased this car I have only problems the car has visited Swati Motor for more then 8 times in 25 day from the day of purchase. I had also complained Mr. Ravi Misra in Ahmedabad on the launch of this vehicle.
    I would like to inform you I , my family & relatives nearly lost our life yesterday 11/4/08 with this car.
    As I was traveling with this car for the first time after the purched on the highway, the car at the speed of 70 the breaks locked the car skated & turned at 180 degree.
    I have taken photos & video at the spot of incident & interview of people at the spot. I am attaching the photos & the clip ( please view the clip in NERO)
    I will take the car for RTO CHECK & Government Engineers.

    God has saved our life.

    Tatas interest is only making profit does not care weather it is at the stake of human life.

    After the inspection I will call Media & local Newspaper.

    For your kind information after the incident my family did not seat in the car. I have used CORSA, QUALIS, TAVERA & INNOVA in past ten year & I like to drive & use new cars but not at the risk of my life, this was bad experience of my life, I am dual national NRI. I have lived half of my life in UK driving other cars also.

    Thanks for the reply.
    After the visit to workshop the braking has improved but not 100% it does have some problem with itsbraking system, because I am driving a latest car not a truck to keep on pedaling the breaks twice in normal accidents conditions you have to apply breaks immediately.
    A part from this, the car is full of problems I never had a new car with so many problems, the AC cooling coil water is poring inside, left side fender is vibrating like hell when the car is driven at 100 km, the seats plastic clips broken, still the Audio system is not done.
    It looks I will have to keep a pad & pen on the dashboard to keep on writing the problems.
    Quality of the product is extremely poor & not to the standard. I am surprised how this vehicle gone under safety & quality control.
    I have mailed company to forward me a copy of Safety & Quality control certificate.

    SUB : POOR QUALITY PARTS NO REPLACEMENT ASPROMISSED

    Dear Sir
    This is to inform you I have purchased Tata Grande on 11th March from swati. From the day of delivery of this car I have nothing apart from problems, as I have informed you all in past letters also but solution has come. As time passes company is avoiding it.
    At the time of delivery I was promised for the keys will provided of Tata Grande not the indica which suppose to be changed, it was also agreed by MR Gumeet but know has refused to which is his word against mine.
    The quality of parts are poor hooks provided to fold the rear seat are so poor that in the first attempt it is broken god knows what it will be in future.
    It is a big shame for TATA Motors with poor quality car, I have asked for quality & safety certificate in my past letter & where it is been issued because I am going to challenge it because it is not standard, because the car has to visit every week to the work shop, it seems the company is having a test drive on my car.
    If don’t get immediate response from the company I will do as below.
    I have been left with no choice other then I will put a banner on my car stating not satisfied customer of TATA with quality vehicle & I will park it outside each showrooms. I would like the company to take me to court so I provide all the proofs against the product.

    You also except the car was disturbed after the incident & the speed as I have mentiond & was driving was 60 to 70 KM, which is normal speed. So there was some mal fuction, in sudden brake the car has to be stable not to skid on etherside.

    lock set was different in comparision to the lock set observed in present sumo range of vehicles because you had been delivered 1st lot of sumo grande vehicles, and also as per discussion in presence of Mr.Chetan Dave(NEW VEHICLE DELIVERY INCHARGE), Jigesh Bhavsar(WORKS MANAGER) & Gumeet Singh(TATA MOTORS CUSTOMER SUPPORT MANAGER), we had made you understand that it was not possible to replace the lock set. moreover to settle the issue amaicably we have escalated lock set concern to higher authority in sales. kindly bear with us till then

    front right side step cover was in broken condition and we remain comitted to change the same on free of cost basis. presently we dont have the side step cover, which we promise to arrange in weeks time, kindly bear with us till the side step cover arrives, we are really sorry to keep you waiting

    It is nearly about 26 day of this mail & delivery of the car is 120 day but still the parts are not availeble.
    Where do I stand after paying a big amount for the purchase of a new car were service is not provided.
    Is this type of service provided by Tata Motors after sale.
    I have all the records of all mails & reports off the car from the day of purchase.
    I am taking this matter to court & to grahak suraksha. I will not have more conversation with the company because I have given enough time to them.

    This is in ref to my past mails sent to all regarding my car still the status stands as it was & is getting worst no action is being taken by the company still parts are not avilable.
    So can u let me know were do I stand as I was informed by Mr. Gumeet it will be carried out soon but know I am loosing my passions because it is more then 3 months from the sale of the vehicle.

    AS I have sent mail last week to customer care but no reply has come, it looks as the company is not interested in after sales service.
    The car sold to me has always been problem to me as I have informed u in past also, the car is having very very poor quality. The recent thing I would like to in form u that product sold to me is suposed to be a car but it seem to be a BOAT, the company thinks that this car is manufactured for some were it does not rain because there are no out let for water to drain water from the doors & water floats in the car, the carpets are totally socking with water & water is pouring from the windscreen.
    It looks that company has by mistake sold this as a car it is suppose to be a BOAT or a RACK then a car & I have been reaped of by the company from first day from the purchase of this car it has been nothing apart from a PAIN in my life, I can say in other words PAIN IN THE ASS.
    Sorry to say that company is not capable of manufacturing passenger vehicle, No wonder what can we expect from a truck manufacturer, In this country every thing is possible because no one cares for HUMAN safety the interest is only how to make money or reap people.
    I grade the car as very very poor quality & NON ROAD WORTHY VEHICLE I think u will under stand in so little words only, & u can see the past reports & HISTORY of this vehicle from the day it has come on road.
    About the after sales service I would say that parts under warranty are not available for months because it has to go through your AREA manager & technical Manager which takes time because they try to save company money to get in good books of the company. Without there approval the service place is helpless.
    My car has been taken to the workshop for more then 30 times in 1 year which means around 3 times a month & it costs me at least RS150 for each time because service station it is 45 KM after the trial it runs up to 60KM.
    I would like short it up I have taken clips of the car which I would like to send with this mail but it is a clip so it does not load so I will send this by post to u with all the photos till this date. All the doors are full of water with aprox 2LTR in each door with no out lets which has been inspected by your dealer SWATI AUTO. The floor of the vehicle is full of water around 3 to 4 inches.
    I hope u will under stand that what type of poor product is on road, & the amount of complain I have forwarded to u must have improved your product.
    One more request I would like have email ID of your CEO so please forward it to me because I will be taking legal action & take this matter to media & safety regulatory, Quality control dept.& customer support.

I have called the workshop for more then 20 times but no reponce from ur side.this mail clears that it is 51 day from the day of complain but the company does not have time to solve customers complain.

    Thanks for the work carried out on my car om 20th AUG regarding my complain sent to you & to TATA MOTOR but unfortunately I am very sorry to inform u that after keeping the car for 2 working days work carried out was not success, I do not know, how many trials are going to be practiced on my vehicle & my money.
    I am forwarding the photographs to u of my vehicle, in what state is the car & how u & company expect me to drive this vehicle after spending a big amount of money. ( I have been riped of by the company ) I can not take this any more. This vehicle is full of problems.
    1 ) All my DOORS & FLOOR are RUSTED because several times they are filled with water with no outlets.
    2). Door SPEAKER are SOAKED with water & all ELECTRICAL WORKING WITH MALL F UNCTION in the doors.
    3) Complete FLOOR MATTING'S are spoiled.
    I want all this Items to be replaced & I have to demand COMPENSATION from the company for all the expenses accrued for sending the vehicle to the workshop for more then 30 TIMES & for.the inconvenience.
    I have spent more time at the work shop then my office but still unsatisfied.
    I HAVE EXPERIENCED THE QUALITY OF NANO ( THE PRIDE OF INDIA ), I HAVE SEEN THE CUSTOMER FROM HIMATNAGAR PUSHING THE CAR FROM THE NEXT DAY OF PURCHASE, I CAN FORWARD THE DETAILS OF THE CUSTOMER WITH THE VIDEO CLIP.
    BUT THIS HAS GOT NOTHING TO DO WITH ME THIS IS JUST FOR THE COMPANIES KNOWLEDGE.
    I will be waiting for companies res ponce regarding my vehicle. What type of product is this is the company satisfied with it. I have got write a lot but I am felling shy.

    I have tried to call on ur mobile on friday many times but there was no reply. My car in workshop for more then one week & still not complet it has been in the work shop for more then 10 days in last 15 days. If it is going to work like this, it is no sence in keeping a new car. I had to hire a car twice this time once it breakdown in Petlad last week when I was attending a wedding, I had to stay half way with the groom & I had to hire a car on this friday I had to go out of station.
    With this product of TATA I have nothing apart from Pain in my ass I am really seak of this car This car has been sent to the work shop for more then 40 times from the day of purchase.
    Every time this car has a diffrent problem & I have to suffer for it. What a great product is sold by TATA.
    I am going to put a blog on net with all photos & the communication with TATA regarding this vehicle.
    If my car is not delivered by the end of the day I would prefer not to have this vehicle because it is already awaitting for the parts seen past 90 days.

    This to bring to ur knowledge that I had sent my Sumo at Aspi workshop last week of OCTOBER for breaking & humming problem the car was in the work shop for around 3 days but it was not cleared due to lack of parts.
    After that the car was in the work shop for a week in NOVEMBER for diffrent problem that time I had asked you to take a trial but you were out of station. Now it is getting worst.
    I am living Ahmedabad on 21st DECEMBER for GOA with my family & the car will be doing around 3000 KM. If any thing goes wrong with car or my family the TATA will be responsible for it, because in past this car had some technical problem & it turned round 180 degree.
    As I had spoken to you on phone at the speed of 100 & over when it is braked it vibrates & when it is caring 8 passengers it gets worst & it also gives humming noise when it jumps.
    I have already spoken to Bhawsar & Nareshbhai but seem they are helpless in this matter, according to them the parts are not available.
    Waiting for ur instant reply, because I running short of time.

    Thanks for the reply but as you informed me about the rules & regulation of warranty policy. Is any time limits on repair under warranty or not because all my complains are always more then 60 days.
    According to your advice of the warranty I should not drive the car wait for the repairs. For kind information I would like to inform you that parts are not available most of the time & if this is the case why does the company sales the car which they cannot provide the parts.
    If the company can not repair the car in time company will be responsible for the damage. This car has spent most of its life in the workshop then on road & it has faulty from the day it came on road I have all the history & records of the vehicle, I can produce to the company & to the court, that this car is non road worthy.
    I had asked you to take trial of my car on 10th of November but you do not have time for it, from that date till today. I can understand that you have given to much of load by the company or there are so many problem in Tata product that you do not get time for so long.
    Know the ball is in ur hand, I have much to write but it is of no use to waist my time.
    IN THE END CAR IS NOT IN PROPER WORKING ORDER & IT WILL BE RUNNING 3000 KM IN NEXT 10 DAY. & THE COMPLAIN WAS LAUNCHED ON 24TH OCTOBER, WORK WAS NOT COMPLETED. ( PARTS NOT AVAILABLE, PART ORDERED) & ON 16TH DECEMBERSTILL AWAITING FOR PARTS.

    I have attached my past mail of 17 DEC 2009. Still the problem is not cleared & the problem is still in the car after the repairs carried out in FEB 2010, I am facing to much of problem & not able to use the car I have used the car only 1000 KM since it was repaired & it was subject to long trial but still the problem stands. There is still vibration in the the car, Humming is getting worst, front bearings are also in the humming mode.
    After changing the wheel rims the problem is still there. If this can not be solved I think my car should be sent back to the plant for repair or replaced.
    Again I would like to inform you that this car is sent to the workshop for repairs for more then 40 time in 24 months & has stayed in the workshop most of its life.
    PLEASE TAKE A IMMEDIATE ACTION & SOLVE THE PROBLEM.

    This is to inform u that once again rain has come & my BOAT ( SUMO GRANDE) has started sailing, It is the second rain since last year & still the problem is not solved.
    All I can say is that the company is not capable to repair the vehicle mechanically nor body vice, why company is selling a product which they can not repair.
    Just inform me will the company be able to solve my problems or not.
    COMPLETE CAR IS FLOODED WITH WATER ALL THE DOORS ARE FULL OF WATER. STILL THE VIBRATION PROBLEM IS NOT SOLVED.
    Vibration problem is not only with my Grande it is with several Grandes I have spoken to many owners most of them are unsatisfied.

    I have taken my SUMO to ASPI & has been inspected by them & Photographs have been taken by them, all the doors, floor & carpet were full of water.
    For ur information the doors does not have outlet of water which is manufacturers faulty & the company can not repair nor solve this problem since last 2 Rainy season & i am facing this problem from NEW.
    All the doors & the FLOOR is RUSTED, CARPET is ROTTEN.
    Sorry to say but this CAR has been just a PAIN in MY ASS. It has been sent to the work shop for around 60 times & also had to call BREAK DOWN 3 times.
    I have made my life's biggest mistake by purchasing TATAS PRODUCT.
    I want all my DOORS & CARPETS to be replaced IMMEDIATELY & solve the problem, If not without hesitating I file a case against TATA MOTOR. I have enough proofs against the company & the is all on company records also.
    Do take immediate action.
