i had purchased tata indica xeta gls from mehta motors bathinda through csd on 06 mar 2006. further i also took the extended warranty valid till 06 mar 2009. the registration number of the vehicle is PB 03 N 7020 and the chasis number is 600208atzp17014. iam an air force officer and the driving is limited inside the camp area only. till now my vehicle has driven only 14000 km. i had done all the servicing within the time period and have all the required bills. on feb 2010 i gave my car for a general check up at omr checkpoint at chennai. to my dismay they told me that the car has some inherent problems and is to be repaired immediately. i accepted for the repairs although there was no problem while driving the car. the repairs costed me Rs. 11780/-. when i got the vehicle delivered back it had a stiff steering. i told the problem during the feedback session and again in mar they took the vehicle and said they had adjusted and now the steering will be ok. as i was not again comfortable with the hard steering i gave them for check up in the month of apr. now they said that the steering drum is faulty and it is to be repaired and would cost me 12000/-. i feel cheated not only by the authorised dealers who while doing the initial free services and the repairs when my car was covered under the extended warranty did not find the inherent problem and also by the tata motors for supplying a defective car which could not run even 14000 km after all the required services and smooth riding. i feel that it is a ploy by the company to supply such defective cars through the csd as they know that the defence personnel have got limited options while buying from csd. i want to seek necessary action against the company.
