    Default penalized unnecessarily for the mistake committed by HDFC.

    I have taken used car loan from HDFC and my Loan A/c No is 17584860. I opted ECS mode to payback the monthly installments.
    My first installment was due in December 2010 , but it was not happen. I have been paying my installments by cheque since December 2010.
    No body from HDFC has contacted me and told about the problem. Every month Collection department calls me and asks about my availability to pick the cheque.This cause me inconvenience every month. I fed up of that and called at the contact number mentioned in the SMS that I receives every month , but no body attended the call. It happened several time. Then I got the customer care number and I was told that cheque is getting bounced or my bank (CITI bank) is rejecting the cheque.

    I ahve contacted my bank and I was told that I am holding Bangalore's account , so its not possible to create ECS payment with other city's cheque. It can only happen if HDFC gives you Bangalore's ECS mandate form with usercode.

    My concern is that while submitting documents and cheques to HDFC agent , Agent has noticed that I am holding bank account in bangalore. But even then he submitted ECS manadate form of pune.
    Now HDFC is not accepting this.

    I have one more ECS on the same account that I have taken in Chennai.But in that case I did not face any problem till now.

    Please guide me how to proceed and get my fines waived off.
