I have received a letter signed by the Manager Billing dated 7th April 2010. This letter indicates that there are 2 EMIs which are pending on this account for an amount of INR 17,534. However, the emi has already cleared from my HDFC bank account on 3rd april 2010. I have the documentary evidence to substantiate the same.
In addition, the letter also states that there is an outstanding amount of INR 21,786 towards cheque return charges. There is no information provided on this letter which indicates how they have arrived on this amount. Also, there have been several occassion where in the payment has been collected by their executives, however ECS has been hitting my HDFC account twice post that due to which I have incurred bouncing charges on my HDFC account and for he same ECS returns Citicorp has also charged me.
I have tried calling several times on the customer service number provided on this letter - 01125897020, 01125897023, however either these numbers are constantly busy or not answered. It has been stated on the letter in a very threatening way that if this amount is not paid within 7 days they will be impound my car. Please help me on this as there are only 2 days left.
