Complaint against Bajaj Allianz Insurance. I Skanda T. S want to register a complaint against Bajaj Allianz. Please see the below mentioned details.
We took a car on 24/12/2010, Hyundai Getz Reg : KA 03 MD 6598 and applied for the transfer for registration the same day to my dad's name, Shankarananda T. B. We got the R.C card on 1st of January 2011. But before we get the insurance transferred to my dad's name as we had 14 days for that, from the day of the registration of the car, i.e from 24/12/2010 as mentioned in the B-extract, the car met with an accident on 1st January 2011, 9.20am which was driving by me(Skanda T. S, I have a valid driving license). The accident took place in NICE road, near PESIT(approx 4 km before it, entered NICE from kanakpura road towards Mysore road). God's grace no one was hurt in the accident, but when we claimed for the insurance, the company is refusing to accept it, saying, insurance has not been transferred to our name yet, though we had still time for transferring the insurance to my dad's name. We even did approach them for transfer of insurance on 3/1/2011 which was also refused. The claim no is OC 11-1701-1801-00011463. The policy name is still in the old owners name, Vinayaka V. Please help us on this issue as we are facing problem by this insurance company.
Thank you,
Yours Faithfully,
Skanda T. S.

This complaint is against
Bajaj Allianz General Insurance Company Ltd.
Ground Floor, 32/2, Ashoka Plaza,
Next to Weikfield Company, Nagar road,

In reference to
Policy No. OG-10-1401-9910-00001923
Imdcode : 10013719
Insurance plan chosen: StudentEliteGold(US$2Lac)
(Ref Notification no. 38587775)
I have taken above mentioned policy from Bajaj Allianz when I went for higher study in Germany (from August 2009 to July 2010). This policy not only covers health but also personal liability. During my stay in Germany I accidentally damaged the carpet in my rented apartment for which company from which I got the apartment on rent claimed 3208.07 Euros from me. Considering me as a student they only claimed 1604.03 Euros.
I provided following documents to Bajaj Allianz
1. Filled Personal liability claim form
2. Claim for compensation from the FacilityServices Hannover, Germany (from which I took apartment on rent in Germany).
3. Invoice details to rectify the damage by a separate company in Germany.
4. Photographs showing the damage on the carpet in the apartment
5. Passport/Visa copy (country entry and leaving details)
6. Rental Agreement (According to German Court of Law)
I was covered against any personal liability claim during my stay in Germany (by StudentEliteGold policy from Bajaj Allianz). Even though I was covered under the policy, Bajaj Alllianz rejected my claim for two reasons.
1. Bajaj Allianz was not informed before signing the rental contract with German Agency for rental accommodation.
2. There was no foreign court involved
I insisted that my claim is very well within the policy due to following facts.
1. Policy document nowhere explicitly mentions that I needed to inform Bajaj Allianz before signing any rental contract. Since I went for study abroad, it is very much understood that I would be living in a rented apartment. Almost all students who go abroad for study do stay in the rented apartment and for which they sign rental agreement. Since policy was for my entire stay in Germany, it has to cover my stay in rented apartment. If it is not then policy is misleading and incomplete for the student’s requirement in foreign land. According to section F #6.2 and 6.6.8 in the policy document claim against rental property damage should be very well under the scope of policy.
2. As far as intervention by foreign court of law concern, I have provided all necessary documents, according to procedures followed in Germany. I have also offered Bajaj Allianz to confirm the procedures with their German branch/counterpart. I also offered them to have talk with German agency from which I took apartment on rent. I consulted Bajaj Allianz Manager at Jaipur office, from which I bought the policy, and came to know that my claim should be very well admissible. Besides other necessary document, I provided copy of rental contract (legal from the German rental law perspective).
Based on my above arguments Bajaj Allianz accepted to review my claim. Next time they argued that I should have informed the company about rental contract while I was buying the policy. They said that premium term would have varied accordingly. It was completely baseless argument. They showed that they just do not want to pay my claim. When I insisted that their argument is baseless, as it is obvious for any student, going abroad; to sign a rent agreement and it should be well within the policy. On my argument they offered partial payment but not full, that too after many months of my filing the claim. When I re-insisted that according to policy document there is no reason for declining the full claim they denied me my claim.
I went for higher study on loan and after coming back to India I didn’t have job for many months. I not only face financial difficulties but also faced mental agony due to non acceptance of my genuine claim by Bajaj Allianz. I filed my claim in August 2010 and this is April 2011, such a long time for claim processing and finally denying the claim has caused lots of mental and psychological pressure on me. I belong to middle class family and it is very tough at my end to hire a separate lawyer to file a case against Bajaj Allianz.
With the help of this forum, now, I demand reimbursement of full claim amount (1604.03 Euros) and due compensation against mental and financial suffering caused by Bajaj Allianz. This policy has not proved friendly to students going abroad for study. I have already paid 1114.5 Euros to German company and rest 489.58 Euros are still need to be paid by me.

Hemant

Harrasment and non co-operation from Bajaj Allianz Dear Sir,
We are holding a group policy for 106 people (Policy no OG-11-2401-8415-00000005) , Individual Silver Health Policy for 7 people, 6 nos family floater health guard policies and accidental policy for 50 people(Safe guard) for our employees with your organisation.
We had been facing lot of problems while getting our employees insured during the new inclusion procedure.
Now, we would like to complaint for a policy that had not been issued even after information sent to the concerned person on 6th june, 2011. Please find the attached mail for reference.
We never get any feedback on this and comprehended that the policy has already been issued.
On 1st September, 2011, when Sanjana Basak gone through a terrible accident and has been admitted to hospital, we tried to call up and get the information about the policy number, to our utter surprise, we get a response from Mr Rajiv Nangalia(Axis Bank, Rashbehari) that, the policy has not yet been issued and nothing can be done now.
Sanjana is a girl of 16 years, has been fighting with death till date in the Calcutta Medical Research Institute and even after paying Bajaj Allianz a handsome amount of money for the last year, due to sheer negligence from Bajaj Allianz’s part get no assistance from Bajaj.
We have already spent more than 1 lac rupees in the hospital.
We would like to understand is it a common thing for Bajaj Allianz to treat customers like this? Our policy is expiring on 14th september and we are horrified to even think about renewing the policy.
Your intervention is highly solicited.
Thanks& Regards
Prognya Chatterjee

I am a Skoda Fabia owner (veh no. OR 16 E 4101) and the car is insured through Bajaj Allianz General Insurance Company Limited bearing policy number OG-12-2407-1801-00000149. My vehicle met with a major accident on 19th August 2011 near Bhasma, Dist: Sundargarh (Orissa). This matter was immediately informed to the Bhasma Police Station (proof attached).
As a next step I immediately intimated the accident to the insurance company and registered my claim (claim no. OC-12-2403-1801-00000979). My vehicle was immediately sent through transport to Speed Automotive Limited, Raipur (Skoda workshop) on 23rd August 2011. A surveyor from the insurance company, Mr. Brajesh (contact no. 0998150567) was appointed to conduct the survey of the vehicle on 26th August 2011.
A estimate for insurance claim was prepared by the workshop and the amount came up to Rs. 8,15,477.00
which is much higher than the total cost of the vehicle. In spite of knowing this fact the surveyor convinced me to go for the repair process saying that the insurance company will bear the cost to which I agreed and the workshop was ordered to dismantle the vehicle. During this it was found that the car is critically damaged and was beyond repair.
I, then applied for the cash loss for the vehicle on 26th September 2011 and I got a call from the surveyor saying that “the insurance company has agreed to settle the cash loss at Rs. 2,50,000/- and the salvage is the responsibility of the costumer”. This statement was beyond my understanding that how could a costumer be set responsible for the salvage. I also asked the surveyor to give this in writing to which he denied by saying that it is not a part of their process.
Now it’s been more than four months and there is no action taken against this claim by the insurance company due to which we had to hire a vehicle at Rs. 1,000/- per day.
Thank you.
