Dear Sir,
Reliance Insurance is giving me lot of mental harrassment for my insurance renewal. The insurance renewal has not been done since it's expiry on August 4th 2010.The details are provided in the below appended mails.
Below is the trail of email communication with Reliance Insurance for your reference.
Dear Sir,
This is With reference to your reply dated 19th Nov2010 assuring me of an resolution.
I've not yet received my insurance & it has become very difficult now to take my vehicle out without an insurance. The cover note period which is valid for three months has already expired.
Why is this delay?? Does it take 24 days for the resolution. It's very frustrating.
I've tried contacting your exceutives but always get false assurances like "Your insurance is processed by the corporate office" Now this has become a torture. A simple car insurance is causing me lot of mental harrassment. Hence I'm compelled to keep a copy of this mail to some editors of newspaper dailies.
Further If this doesen't happen within 1 day then I'll be forced to take a legal opinion.
Hoping for a resolution.
Regards,
Ramchandra Savanur

Subject: Delay in getting the Insurance renewal from Reliance General Insurance
Dear Sir,
Let me introduce myself.
My name is Mr.Ramachandra Savanur & residing in Dombivli. I’ve have insured my car bearing registration no. MH-05/AB-5287, model Indica Xeta with your firm Reliance General Insurance since August 2007.
Details:
Initially when I bought the Car it was insured to Tata insurance firm for the first year (August 2006 to 2007) & in the second year the insurance provider was changed to Reliance General Insurance. The service was provided by the DSA (Mr. Dinesh Sharma) affiliated to Best Auto Repairs & Services Kalyan. I should say here that the service was prompt & excellent. Last two years there were no issues with the renewal.
This year my insurance was getting expired on 3rd August 2010 & the DSA promptly collected the cheque(No.187026 dated 01/08/2010 DNS Bank ) on 1st of August & issued me the cover note which was valid for 3 months (Cover note attached & can provide the Xerox copy of the cheque).
I’ve not received the insurance copy till date & my cover note period has also expired. As per the DSA this has been delayed from the Reliance General Insurance due to some changes in the staff. But why should a customer suffer?
The DSA gave me the concerned contact person details & have been following up with Mr.Rupesh Gawale from RGI but it has not been fruitful. I’ve been given only assurances. After waiting for three long months you Reliance guys are asking for an inspection. Were you sleeping for this period? This was not expected by a known popular private sector insurance company.
To add to this my vehicle met with an accident in Dombivli on 22nd August 2010 (Cover note period) with some damages. How can I claim this?? I’m struck….Pl. suggest.
Inspite of all this I’m ready to go for an inspection provided I get the insurance claim for the above damage with the same premium and NCB (IN WRITING OF COURSE).
Bottom line is that I should get my insurance at the earliest with the above conditions.
This is my last humble request as I’m running out of patience & time. Further if the issue doesn’t get resolved at the earliest then I’ll be compelled to approach the media & may take the legal route also.
Regards,
Ramchandra Savanur
