My customer is owner of Toyota innova which is insured by Reliance General Insurance Co.Ltd.. Policy no.1103702311000615, Vehical No. MH04DN5910. On April 2010 a insurance agent aproached Mr. Mahendra Nath B. Singh regarding renewal of policy and given him a quote of Rs. 12000/. Mr. Singh gave him achq. of Rs. 12000/ Which got cleared after some days. After aperiod of 15 days the agent came to Mr. Singh & asked to pay 3150/ more for sort payment. Mr. Singh gave him achq. of Rs. 3150/ which got bounced due to some technical reason. Mr. Singh phoned the agent and told about dishonour of the chq. and requested him to collect the amount in cash, but no one aproached Mr. Singh to collect the amount.
After seven months the vehical got damaged due to an accident on November 2010. We registered the claim , surveyor came, given approval for repair, the vehical got repaired & final inspection got done by surveyor, we submitted the invoice to him. After 15 days when we inquired about the payment , the surveyor told us that the policy is an INACTIVE policy You can not get any claim of it . Why the RGIC did not informed Mr. singh that this is a inactive policy. Why RGIC did not refunded Rs.12000/ after the chq. bounce of Rs.3150 ?Why there system not informed us that this is an inactive policy at the time of registration of claim ?
