I had booked Ford Figo Exi on 6th September at
FORD dealer in my city. My vehicle was delivered on 30th
Sep’10.I got my insurance done from ford dealer itself. On night of
20th November while I was returning to my home from city my vehicle
got struck into ditch which was full of water which didn’t let me
anticipate the depth of ditch. Some sound was heard by me which seemed
to me something has struck my vehicle in bottom. I moved the vehicle
from centre of road and parked the vehicle in the corner. My vehicle
didn’t start anymore. I called the ford and they helped me to take my
vehicle to the service centre after toeing.
Next morning when service centre personnel checked
my vehicle I was told that oil chamber got damaged and oil has leaked
and engine got siege. Service centre people have given me estimate of
Rs.2.32 lacs for this damage which included Rs.1.12 lacs against
engine replacement. I was told by
service centre to file intimation report to insurance company from
which I had the package insurance of my vehicle. I filed an intimation
report to insurance company about this damage. After 4 days when
insurance personnel came for survey they have decline to accept my
claim and told that they are not going to entertain any claim against
engine siege.
Is my claim invalid?
