My name is Dr Amit Bhootra. I am an eye surgeon and belong to Amritsar. I had got my car insured from Reliance General Insurance. Policy no 2003792311001953. While doing the insurance the agent did not tell me that an additional compulsory deductible amount of Rs 2000 will be charged from me in addition to the normal Rs 500.(ie i would have to shell out Rs 2500(atleast) every time i got my car repaired instead of Rs 500. It is but natural that i would have got my insurance done from some other company.
Secondly i sent my car to the garage (Shangari Motors, Amritsar) for repair. The surveyour, Mr Ravi, passed the claim and my car was repaired(claim no 2101081843). However soon after i was told that my claim has been cancelled. If my claim was not to be passed then i should have been told in the first place before my car was repaired. Inspite of contacting the Amritsar office and the Chandigarh office (Mr Tarun Kapoor) no response was obtained from there side.
I had to shell out the total money for the repair of the car.
This has been a very poor service and fraudulent activity by Reliance general Insurance.
