Airtel harassing account disconnected I got Airtel broadband connection on 12/12/2011 with a/c no:7005406260.
3 days after taking the connection, broadband was down till 28/12/2011 and I was told there is some technical migration has to happen so I was given a new account no: 7005410475 through the same line of wire.
I was told my earlier account will be disconnected with immediate effect but even after calling helpdesk the account was not disconnected. When the new connection given to me also went down in Feb, I disconnected airtel broadband and paid the rent for January and February 2012.
Since then I am being harassed over the phone about bill payment for account which should have been disconnected in December itself. Now I received a letter about legal proceedings, citing that I did not pay the bill to old account for the month of Jan and Feb 2012.
I have emails and SMSes I sent to Airtel folks and local area manager for getting it corrected to prove my point. Airtel should also be aware that since there is only a single line given to me, technicall they can not offer me 2 plans so they should rectified the error long back.
How should I proceed with legal notice?
