Airtel Legal Notice Against Me????? Respected Sir/Madam,
I was using airtel broadband connection in sec-37 chandigarh in July-Aug 2011. In september 2011 i shifted from chandigarh to mohali and very same day 1st Sep,2011 i submitted the request to transfer my connection to my new place. Airtel customer care executive told me that this transfer is within the city so it will take only 3 days because your STD Code is same (i.e.0172) and maximum time is 7 days. I have the request number, After that i start waiting of transfer of connection but no action was taken. I called customer care again after 3 days and they said sorry transfer will be completed with in 2 days, but again no response. After that i think i called them 10-15 times in that month for transfer of connection but they never did.
After 1 month i purchased a new internet device because i am working person and i lost many projects because of this internet connection problem.I was completely fed up of airtel service.
In next month i received a call from Airtel customer care to submit my bill of broadband which i never used because connection was not transferred but i don't know today how they manage to increase my bill to 6000.
Everyday Airtel Customer care executive calls and harasses me for submission of my bill which i never used, and always i ask them that why my connection was not transferred and reply was 'you have to submit the bill then only connection will be transferred.' Now i was completely angry with airtel because when i submitted my request of transfer of connection,Customer care executive never told me that 'you need to submit the bill' because my bill was not generated that time.In whole September airtel executives were saying that connection will be transferred within 2 days and when bill is generated they said now you need to pay the bill.
What the hell is this. i never used this connection in September also why i have to pay that. Then i said i will not pay a single rupee to airtel. They completely started using abusive languages then i stopped picking the call of Airtel.
Now before 2 days i received a call from unknown numbers +918860012283,+918860012257 ,that airtel filed a case against me and i need to come at Delhi Court with my lawyer because of this bill which i not paid.
I completely harassed and upset of this airtel company.I am patient of High BP and working with very low income and these harassment call are affecting my health and my current job also.
If anything happens to me then only airtel will be responsible for that.
Can you please help me and tell me where is my fault and why i have to pay such huge bill of that connection which i never used.
I hope you will take necessary action.

Dear Navpreet,
Legal action does not come through phone calls. Before anybody takes a legal action against you, they need to send you a written notice in the form of a letter. These mobile companies employ collection agents to collect dues, and the telephone calls are most likely from them. In fact since most of us get nervous at the prospect of court cases, we tend to believe the words of collection agents, and pay them in order to relieve our tension. If you have not received any letter from a lawyer on any dues, rest assured that no case can be filed without any notice. I can tell you that a similar thing happened with me a year ago, where one mobile service provider sent postpaid bills even after my application for surrender. I got numerous calls and visits from collection agents to my home. All I told them was that I won't pay for a surrendered connection and they can do whatever they liked. They stopped coming after that. Reading your post, it appears that you have a genuine complaint. Do not worry. Airtel cannot open a court case against you without written notice/letter.

If you are correct that these are collection agents from airtel then they should know about my problem why i did not paid my bill.
But you can see after that they harassed me, so my concern is that may i file a consumer court case against airtel for doing such harassment calls.

They have to send written leagal notice. On phone , they can only cheat you or only harassment can be done. Do not worry.

Harrasment from airtel The issues We have been facing due to non-payment of our internet bill for the a/c # 16642762 and phone # 8042112191. This payment from our side was not done due to some certain reasons and rights which a consumer is liable to have and which were not at all satisfied from Airtel's side. We had taken an internet connection of 2MBPS with 10 GB data cap and the problems we faced are listed below.
1) For the whole month in November 2011 we did not receive more than 250 kbps of speed.
2) Related to above matter we contacted customer care and also visited airtel office by wasting several hours and still we didn't get any improvement in the service
3) Again for the next billing cycle the same thing was repeated by airtel for the month of December 2011 and we decided not to pay the bill until service is improved from airtel side.
4) The service was so pathetic at times that to book our tickets we had to go to internet cafe coz we were afraid of losing our money due to inconsistency in airtel's connection.
5) In the first week of January 2012 airtel itself disconnected the service saying that out services is barred due to non-payment of the bill (so this makes it two months of non-payment)
6) Apart from this the customer care people forced us to take a new plan with higher speed which was really shocking and funny.
7) As I said the service was discontinued after two months so that makes it just Rs 2324 of bill pending not Rs. 3486.12
8) After all this airtel is trying to drag us to the court by sending us fake legal notices which is by mail :D, and they have been very rude and calling us time to time because its matter of their money now. Now we REGRET being airtel's customer for obvious reasons.
Now being a consumer we are always on a vulnerable side and due to our current circumstances we are not ready for a legal battle even if its fake and we are always scared to do so. So what should we do, Pay our bill and then raise a complaint against them( I am sure if we pay the bill and then complain nothing is gonna happen)...or not pay the bill and complain against them.

Again Harassment! Mr. Rakesh Ranga,
Thanks for your all replies.
My concern is not resolved again; your airtel customer care executives are calling and harassing me continuously. They even don't know how to talk to a customer.
I received an email from your dept. that I need to pay Rs. 4258.45. What the hell is this I think you did not read my last complaint completely and I think this time AIRTEL comes with new tool of harassment that I was using 649 or 650 plan, I don't know exactly what plan your executive was telling me, I never heard about it before.
Mr. Rakesh this is totally ridiculous, I was using Rs. 999 unlimited plan with 2 Mbps of speed and this was confirmed by your confirmation call on same day when my connection got activated and when 1st bill was generated, I have received the bill of approx. Rs. 2600 in August and I was shocked. I called the customer care about bill, I called the sales person who activated this connection and finally my issue got resolved from airtel that this is the mistake of airtel and agreed that it is 999 unlimited plan according to my papers and they refunded approx. Rs 2200 because of their mistake.
So I left with 2600 - 2200 = 400 Rs only.
I paid Rs 500 at connection activation time which is adjustable in bill so still my Rs 100 was extra to airtel.
Then in next month (September) my bill was not generated yet and I got shifted to another location and re-shifting request was submitted (3330730) on 1st or 2nd of September.
And after that the whole story was written in my first post.
Please if you can help me then stop these harassment calls from Airtel. I will not pay a single rupee for that connection which I did not used.
Again I am telling you that I am patient of high blood pressure and if anything happens to me only Airtel will be responsible. Today Mr. Imran (No. +918146543991) called me and
misbehaved. This is not tolerable I am using other airtel connections from last 6 years and never faced this kind of problem, now you guys are making me feel that I should not use airtel services in future.

Airtel false bill generation and mental harrasment Respected Sir,This is reference to your Bill No. 707874540 dated 06th March 12. As I am using 2G internet with 2 GB data free usage @ 149 rupees per month. One day (on 14th Feb.2012)I have got a call from your customer care executive her name is Ms. Kiran from Bhopal she called me from +917550401444 this number and insisted me to activate 3G Plan 512 MB @ 200 rupees per month. I said her that I am not interested but still she insisted me to activate 3G plan by saying that I can use 512 MB in one day or in month regardless or your usage u will be charged only 7 rupees per day and you can deactivate the plane after 4-5 days if you don’t like the service and only 35-40 rupees will be charged for 3G Plan for 4-5 days usage. I took confirmation from her that after 3G plan deactivated my 2 G plan will be activated automatically and there will not be any problem in my billing cycle. As your executive miss guided me and it led to very high mobile bill.And I found following problems in your above Bill No. 707874540My credit limit is 1500 only how can you people allowed me to use above my credit limit.As it is clearly mentioned in the bill that there is no internet activated on my number on 21st Feb.2012 But you people have charged me for using internet 2G and 3G on same date.As during 05th Feb. 12 to 13th Feb. 12 , 2GB plan was activated on my number but you people have not given any discounts for using internet from 11th Feb.12 to 13th Feb.12.I have given a complaint regarding this issue My Complaint Number is 42512687 on 9th Feb.2012 till today I have not received any reply from your end this shows Air Tel irresponsible Behavior towards its Customers.As per your customer care executive given information I have used only 1.85 GB Data in the billing cycle 06th Feb.2012 to 4th March 2012. But as per 2GB Plan activated on my number I can use free data up to 2GB. Same discount is not been given to me in your above mentioned bill number.Herewith I am attaching Scan Copy of Bill No. 707874540 Highlighting above mentioned points.I have been using AirTel Services from the day I have started using mobile in my life, I never thought AirTel will do such injustice & ford with its customers. I clearly mention that I could not able to pay such a huge payment.I request you to kindly check your Bill No. 707874540 once again considering above points.Kindly to the needful.Now airte ppl are calling me and harrassing me and black mailing me bye daying they will make a court case on me.Please I request you to help me out in resolving this issue.Thanks & RegardsAnand Kulkarni

Tourchere from airtel collection dept Sir,
Amount of Rs. 2098 /- outstanding on your Land line no.- 08041488781_kk , bearing account number 15355984.
I have been getting calls from Airtel collection / legal department saying i have due on the payment for the account i had.
I requested airtel to close my account on Mid of October 2011 and they said after a week they will close the account. I went to USA for a month trip and came back to bangalore by Nov 15.
I got series of calls from airtel saying my bills are unpaid after i returned to India, then i raised series of complaint and I paid money till Oct which i used. I got to know from airtel customer care that some one from airtel came to my house and I asked them to renew the account and not to disconnect the account on Nov first week. I was not in India at that time and my house was locked.
I told all thease details and raised an complaint with airtel customer care on December and airtel must have recored my telephonic conversation and their false record will show that I asked them to renew the account and not to cancell during the period I was NOT in India.
My passport has the exit and entry of the country India and I was not avaliable in India from Oct 28 till Nov 15th 2011, and this confirms Airtel lies to the customer and they give tourchere to customers by calling often by airtel bill department, then Legal department and then Collection department.
These phone calls threaten me to pay the amount of amount of Rs. 2098 /- outstanding on my Land line no.- 08041488781_kk , bearing account number 15355984 for the bill of November and December 2011 which I did not use. I used the account till October and I paid till that period, and I asked airtel to disconnect from Oct 15th 2011 the request will also be in their records.
Please take necessary actions against this and give peace to your loyal customers.
