    Default Airtel Broadband

    I was an old Broadband connection user and the details are as following
    Broadband Plan -> Static IP 1Mbps Plan
    Connection taken from -> Mid of 2009
    Account Number -> 14708763

    When I moved to my new address which is the current one from BTM, the transfer of my Static IP took more than 2 months and i was forced to use dynamic IP, paying the money for STATIC one. The support from the engineering team was pathetic and the timing for support was always late. Finally I got the static connection after 2 months.

    In May 2011, I requested for cancellation of the connection as I was moving to UK for 6 months by calling the customer care. But even after a month when I did not get the response I called them again [reference number - 54980412], they said its disconnected and their executive would come to collect the modem and the Phone. But no-one showed up and i moved to UK. When I checked in the month of October 2011,they still had not taken the modem and the outstanding amount was INR 7589 without having used the connection. They kept sending bills and executive to my residence for collecting the bill amount for the service which doesn't exist as June 2011 onwards they have disconnected the Airtel Broadband and there is no service.

    I paid INR 7589 for the disconnected service [paid on 17th Oct and the reference number 516237], thinking they will at least stop bothering my family but still they have been sending bills every month. Executive comes home every month for collecting the bill amount. When I tried calling the customer care again, they say the refrence number does not exist and they hang up without listening to my concern. This is a kind of mental harassment which these guys are causing to me and my family. I had never expected such a service from a renowned company like AIRTEL.

    To be precise, the service was disconnected in June 2011 [the same request was made on May 2011 as well but they didn't take any action]. Apart from this I have already called more than 5 times to the service centre but there was no update on this. I am still getting bills and executive come to my residence every month for collecting bill for the service which I am not using at all.

    Request you to look into this and help / advice.

    I logged a request on 23-Jan to shift my airtel landline no (0124-4277349) on which my braodband and iptv runs to my new address. It has been now more than 10 days that i am following up with airtel customer care daily at-least 2-3 times.

    Leave the part of looking into issue, i never got a call back from airtel to update me of my request's status and airtel customer care is treating me so bad that it is a mental harassment.

    As per the latest converstion i had with your customer care my landline is already transferred as per the system records and I have to pay the charges. To my surprise, i still see my landline phone, set of box and tv all packed in boxes at my place. And why should i pay the charges for getting no service.

    I have been tired of follow-ups. I would need two things from consumer forum:

    1. Get my landline transfered at the earliest as it effects my work and my personal life.
    2. I need compensation for the loss of my business coz of absence of internet for last 10 days.

    Will be great if someone can look into this issue and help me!!
