    Default Complaint - Airtel Broadband Cancellation

    Sir,

    I have been in a very good relationship with Airtel since year 2009 till I was using Beetel 550BX broadband modem. In the second week of October 2011, I ordered a new WI-FI modem. The Airtel guy was on time delivering the Binatone WI-FI modem saying that this modem has good WI-FI range and it has a warranty perios od 1 year. The person installed the WI-FI modem, charged me Rs 1500, and took away the old Beetel 550BX modem saying that it is the property of Airtel.

    I did whatever he said trusting the brand name AIRTEL. Just after 1 month of the new WI-FI modem installation, the modem stopped working. I tried calling the Airtel Customer care asking them to resolve the issue as the modem was still in warranty, but they said, repairing is not our business and I have to go to Binatone Centre and submit the modem for repairing which may take around 1 week.

    As I am a working professional, I never got time to search and deposit the modem to the Binatone centre. I got weekly off from my company, which I prefer to spend with my near and dear ones. So I decided to go for cancellation. I lodged several complaints for broadband cancellation as shown below but every time my call got transferred to the retention department and they said that they will soon provide me with the solution:

    Every time the solution I get from the Airtel Officers is to install another modem for which they again want me to pay Rs 1500 for the new modem which again has same warranty from the hardware provider(Binatone) and not from Airtel which is of no use to me.

    I also tried contacting the Nodal officer so as to escalate the issue and marked her 3 emails, but there was no response to any of my effort apart from the acknowledgement email. Below are the details:

    1) Mail 1 sent on 30th Nov, 2011 with subject line: "Disconnect Broadband"
    2) Mail 2 marked on 2 December, 2011 asking her to let me know the next level of escalation
    3) Mail 3 marked on 21 Dec, 2011 again raising the same issue in a harsh manner, but to no avail(seems they are used to such emails).

    Apart from that, I got a mail from Airtel that my plan has been upgraded from 649 to 749 which was done without even informing me. If you are in a plan to phase out some plans, atleast ask the customer who will be paying you ultimately.

    At this point of time, I am left with no option, as even Nodal Officer is sitting idle and watching the movie and I am getting bills on regular basis. I really don't know what to do with the bills as I am not using the internet and still getting the bills from past 2 months.

    Request you to please help or atleast know me the procedure of how can I sue Airtel.

    Default Airtel broadband cancellation

    Dear Sir,

    This is with respect to airtel broadband number 08042012069. I had raised the cancellation request in last octomber end in 2011. i disconnected all the connection and asked them to collect the indtrument. I asked them to cancel this connection because i am changing my location. they said fine.

    Later evening i got the call from airtel asking for same thing again. i told them i am moving to new location and there is no airtel broadband flexibilty. but they forced me a lot saying that Madam you are very valuable customer to us etc.. i told them again i have already checked and it is not possible. they said they will try. At the end i told them if is possible you do it otherwise continue with cancellation request.

    After few days goto a call saying that there is no feasiblity in my new area. I told them to continue my cancellation request. I think they have not done this.

    From lst december and january i am getting regular calls for payment. i kept telling them the old history. some people called and verify the old history and assured me things will be solved.

    But it has not happened till today. today i got the call again for payment and told them i am not going to pay this please check the history. When the connection is not active how can keep sending the bills. At the end lady told me that she will send the 'Legal notice' and i should come there.

    This was not at all accepted from AIRTEL. I am using airtel from fast 5 years and had never faced any issue. Please help me. this is an mental torture which they have started from last december.

    Why can't they cancel the connection when i customer is asking for it and keep asking for payment which we are not using.

    Thanks. Please help me.

    Dear Sir,

    This is with respect to airtel broadband number 08042012069. I have logged an complaint in airtel and the complaint number is 12461456. They so agree their mistake and said it will be resolved in 15 days.

    But i am still getting their payment reminder calls and the warning for legal notice. Is this the Airtel manages the customer. One side they do they its their mistake and they will solve it and on the other hand they are giving me mental torture by saying if the don't pay the pending bills they will send me legal notice and they do talk very harshly and not ready to listen about anything and disconnecting the call. I got call from 08065474611.

    When the called the broadband service they said its a department. Do they work for diffrent comapny. I don't understand why they are giving this mental torture.

    Please take some action on this. Because of their careless job, they are giving me warning for legal notice. Is this the JUSTICE?

    Default Issues with Airtel Broadband

    Customer acc no: 16539096 bearing telephone Nos 04443308038_tn.

    I had a request to cancel my landline the next month I took a connection as I am going to shift my house.

    An Executive from Airtel call me and request to hold the connection, and I agree once I shifted to my new house only I will continue (they promise to waiver the bill amount if it is not used and they did for 2 months and started charging from 3 month. I shifted my house 4 months later and Airtel doesn’t have service in my new locality. so they continue to charge bill from 3 month.

    I still agree to continue the service if airtel fixed me landline to my new house. I am getting emails/calls from Airtel to pay the bill.

    I am clear from my side I won’t pay any dues since Airtel doesn’t cancel my connection on my request and change bill on No Usage (I shifted my house by that time). Airtel doesn’t provide any equipment for the landline, so I am not eligible to return any equipment.
