    Default Airtel broadbad ilegal bill generating after cance

    I was using Airtel broadband in New delhi since July 2011 and submitted the application for connection cancellation to custumer care they said that that will be automatically cancel new delhi Airtel received the application on Oct 18, 2011 (as per their records). They say cancellation takes about 15 days, and that means I am liable to pay LAST bill for the duration of 10-Sep-2011 to 04-May-2011.


    A person from Airtel office in Hyderabad came and took the equipment but it seems Airtel did not disconnect the connection. They are still (it is August!) generating bills in my name. Airtel even changed my plan from 1299 unlimited to 499 (in May when the connection should have been disconnected) and has been generating someoutrageous amounts of bill - for unexplained bandwidth usage. Yesterday a lady called me from 040-40203813 to inform me that they would issue a legal notice to me if I don't pay the outstanding bill of Rs. 5795 within a day. She said she would reduce my amount and give me some rebate. (Does this mean they know it is their mistake?)


    When I told her why the connection was not disconnected, she said she is not concerned about details. All she knows is that I have to pay bill, and if I don't, they will issue legal notice. pls sugges me
