Exclamation You Broadband Adding Virus/Adware Code to Websites

You broadband in Gujarat has started a new way to earn money. They have partnered with a third party ad provider that shows ad popups on every website by inserting an html/javascript code (adware).

    The code is like this:

    Code:
    <iframe src="url to the ad site" width="728" height="90" marginwidth="0" marginheight="0" frameborder="0" scrolling="no" allowtransparency="false" style="position: absolute; width: 728px; height: 90px; top: 0px; right: 0px; bottom: 0px; left: 0px; border-top-width: 0px; border-right-width: 0px; border-bottom-width: 0px; border-left-width: 0px; border-style: initial; border-color: initial; border-image: initial; overflow-x: hidden; overflow-y: hidden; display: none; "></iframe>

    <a href="javascript:void(0);" title="Close" style="background-image: url(url to the ad site); position: absolute; width: 14px; height: 14px; top: 0px; right: -14px; display: none; "></a>

Not only this is annoying, irritating and extremely frustrating but an illegal cyber crime 'Deep Packet Inspection' activity. This is also breach of privacy and totally immoral and unethical practice.

All the ads are from atomex, sreamride and zedo.

I have been calling you broadband for last 4 days. Every day they give me time of 12-24 hours for problem resolution. Today is 4th day and nothing has been done regrading this. Not even an explaination has been given.

Also I am not alone, there are many other victims too. (How do I post to other references on web about victims?)

As a consumer they may ignore me and they may keep going like this. I will finally ask them to cut the connection and will go for another service provider.

However, in case I inform Google, Microsoft (they have a specialized policy for this) and other big big companies they will sue You Broadband as these ads are appearing on their sites.

Plus who in the world gave You Broadband permission to add illegal code on webpages???

P.S. There are no viruses, adware on my system. This happens on virus free fresh Windows and Linux Installations.

After lots of heated arguments and telling them that I will report this matter to higher government authorities and press, they have taken down all the ads. I am closing the thread now.
