    Angry Reliance Broadband Internet Court case threat

    Hi,
    This is Sneha Menon from Mumbai.
    I had taken a Reliance Broadband account in April/May last year. In June, there was a problem with the internet connection in my area due to which I was unable to connect to the internet for over 2-3 weeks. During this period, I used to call up the helpline daily and ask for resolution of this complaint, and was told 2 hrs, 3 hrs, within 24 hours by the call centre representatives.
    IN the first week of July, I cancelled my account and received a termination notice on the 20Th of July.
    Since then, I have kept receiving bills for every month and later after the equipment was returned, I received bills charging me for the equipment use as well.

    I have spoken to numerous customer service representatives about this matter and requested many times for the issuance of the right bill. However, I keep receiving wrong bills and this matter has not been resolved. People have called me continuously harassing me for the payment and coming to my home. I refuse to pay the bill unless it is correct.

    Today, I received a call from a lawyer called Akhileshwar Dubey from the Delhi High Court who has mentioned that I have been summoned to court for the non payment of this bill. I have not received any formal legal notice and refuse to take this seriously without written documentation. This person has also mentioned that this legal notice can be dropped if I pay the bill within an hour. Without the resolution of my complaint, I am being intimidated by different members of Reliance.

    I would have written to the Reliance Nodal officer without any avail. I am at my wits end about how to tackle this situation. if anyone here has some similar experience or knows how to deal with this, I would be grateful. The amount outstanding is only Rs. 2336, but I refuse to pay this amount till the details of the amount is correct.

    This is Nida Elahi Khan from Mumbai.
    Few Years back my Society had Powersurfer.net broadband connection and I had paid Rs. 28,000/- and Rs. Rs. 22,350/- in favor of LEAP telecom (payee for POwersurfer.net) for 2 broadband connections as advance for entire year. However after some months Reliance Broaband took over Powersurfer company and started sending monthly bills for these connections to me even though I had paid for the entire year. Even after repeated complaints and submitting the Bank statements and cheque details to their Headoffice in Kandivli I still get calls threatening me with legal action and they claim that if i dont pay up amounts of Rs. 9440 and Rs. 7720 they will issue a warrant for my arrest and I will have to pay Rs. 1,50,000 and go to Delhi to attend court hearings.

    Earlier they tried visiting and harassing me then kept calling and harassing.

    But Today I was called by a PRO Officer from Delhi Inspector Singh Rathore threatening me to pay the amounts within an hour else i would face an arrest warrant and would have to pay Rs.1,50,000 /- and attend Delhi court hearings.

    I cant believe Reliance Broadband can be such gangsters and careless about their customers. I have so many other bills of Reliance which i pay monthly cause they are correct but i refuse to pay incorrect bills due to their threats. I have now applied to change all my electricity to Tata and will consider change of all other Reliance connections soon.

    The Court should fine this company in such cases of threats. All consumers who face such issues need to unite and fight them collectively.

    Post Reliance broadband high court case threat


    Dear Sir/Madam, This is Mohd Anwar from Hyderabad, India.

    I and my family members are very much disappointed due to harassment / "court case threat" given by reliance legal dept. persons. I am mentioning here some points and oral conversation which I experienced.

    1. In 2009 (three years back), I had taken Reliance broadband connection and due to unsatisfactory service I requested to disconnect and collect their instruments.
    2. Then I got disconnected the connection and one executive from reliance had collected the instruments. As far as I remember there was no dues remaining by that time.
    3.After some time I got call from RIM legal Dept. that I have to pay 4500/- due to some fine. But I told them that there is no dues remaining.
    4. Then they asked me that how much I can pay. I told them that max one months extra payment (600/-) I can do as after disconnection extra bill was delivered.
    5.Then finally we were settled (after some bargaining) on 1000/-. And the person who were talking from RIM legal Dept. convinced me that after paying 1000/- we will not face any problem in future and my account will be closed.
    6. One executive (Pradeep) came from RIM legal dept. to collect amount. I paid 1000/- and then he assured me that my account will be closed and will not be any problem in future.

    7.Now Today (12-03-2012)(after three years) while I was very much busy in my exams preparation as I am a research scholar in an prestigious Indian Institute, I got a call around 1:15pm from the no.(+918447172987)(Manoj) and following conversation was done (approx 25 Mins).

    Manoj- Aapke against complaint hui hai, aapka case Delhi High Court mein file hua hai. Aap ghar per rahiye ek legal team aapke ghar per arahi hai 30 mins mein.

    Immediately I went to web world within 10 Mins.

    Alok- He talked to cashier and found that my name is available but a/c is terminated.
    Alok - Anwar pay 4500/- to Cashier and tell me reciept no.

    Me- I paid 4500/- through my debit card.
    Me- called to Alok
    Me- Sir, I paid 4500/- and reciept No. is So and So.
    Alok- Ok Anwar future mein apko koi problem nahin hogi aur 5 days mein ek courier apke ghar ajayega.Aur Manoj ko inform kardo ki aout of court settlement ho gaya hai.
    Me- Ok, Sir Thanks.
    Me- Called to Manoj.Hello Manoj Kumar Sir.
    Manoj- Yes
    Me- Sir, This is Mohd Anwar, I have been done out of court settlement. I have give my 4500/-payments receipt no. to Sr.Advocate Alok Mathur.
    Manoj- Ok. future mein problem nahin hogi.

    Note 1-> I paid 4500/- because I fogot that due amount settlement was already done as mentioned in points 5 and 6. Here I would like to complain against to whom so ever concern.

    1.If settlement was already done three years back then why did they raised this issue again and threatning me for complain case in High Court as I am a student and cannot bear case expenditures to fight against them.

    2. I did not recieved any prior notice for this regard.

    3. I want return my 4500/- as I paid this for settlement (second time) which was not required.

    Note 2-> In first time settlement they had to close the account but they did not do, that's their mistake why should I pay again.

    Note 3-> I did not used reliance broadband service in compare to the amount which I have been paid.(very disappointing).

    appellate authorities of MH and Mumbai, with no response 7 days before, apart from some 'legal threat' message. And my contact id and phone number both are in your records, so if you are really 'eager' to respond, I can be reached directly.     Angry Broadband bill generated without giving USB modem

    Hi This is regarding I had purchased a Reliance netconnect and For monthly rental plan of 500/- and a cheque of 1299/- was given for the USB modem I have the reciept with CAF Number: 3820225964. It is of Mahavir Trading company which is authorised distributor for reliance netconnect. My complaint is I have not recieved the USB modem and Reliance have already activated my account and generated bills and I am in such a situation that I do not have the USB modem nor i am using any internet because of it and I have been handed over the bills that are generated and mentioning legal action if not paid. Please let me know what should I do?

    Default Relaince harasment for legal case

    Dear sir ,

    My Reliance Broadband Subscriber ID -382761249801. In Starting January-2012 I start facing internet disconnection and During this period I had contacted reliance customer care many times everytime I contacted they told that "there is some technical work going in your area , so we cannot register your complain now, when the work will over we will contact you". but no one contacted there after.Then I again contacted reliance customer care on 30th January-2012 and then my complained was registed but solution was provided.Instead of so many Complain no.s registered 171356491 , 171436243, no solution will be provided and then their executives are not registering any complains saying that we are forwading the same complain. it is very very bad service from reliance. I had then asked to stop my connection on 2nd feb 2012. On 5th Feb-12 my internet connection was restored after more than one month, But I told them that I dont need that now, as per my intimation I had already taken a new connection from another service provider.

    On 7th feb-12 I got a mail that your request has been registered under Service Request ID 171951294 and one of our executives will contact you in the next 48 hours.
    Further to inform you that post cancellation you need to return the instrument or else will be charged Rs. 1500/- for Broadband equipment and Rs. 1250/- for Fixed line instrument.

    On 7th feb-12 I wrote them that You can take back your instrument anytime and I dont have any bills pending except this months bill, waiver for which I have applied as per below conversation. So it is very clear that I have to return only the instrument to you and have no pending bills to pay.

    In between they generated one more bill against my account and I have mailed may times to them that please dont generate any such bills bcoz I was not liable to pay.

    I sent many mails to them regarding the confirmation for disconnection.

    On 27 feb-12 I got a mail saying;
    Dear Customer,

    We acknowledge receipt of your request for termination of the service. We apologise for not meeting your expectation this time for the services provided by us.

    As requested, termination process is initiated for the subscriber ID 1203016712. Kindly note the rental of your service will be stopped from 16/02/2012. Our representative will be visiting you for the collection of the equipment installed by RCOM at your premises for running the services. Please handover the equipment to him.

    On 20 march they took all the instruments.

    Then again these people continue raising bills against my account and sending to me.

    Then on 29th march I again wrote to them that Please refer to ur mail my internet service had stopped from 16/02/2012, and relaince persons took all the instruments on 20th march-12. Now I am not liable for any payment to reliance so pass the service termination information to your billing department also, they are unknowngly generated bills and sending to me.


    On 30th march -12 I got a mail from reliance saying : This is with reference to your e-mail about billing issue. Kindly note that as checked in the system, there is no due payable in your account.

    But surprisingly yesterday I got a call from any advocate from Mumbai that reliance had logged a case against you if u pay your bill within half an hour then they will not lodge any case.

    Default Take Reliance to the Consumer Court and TRAI

    Dear Raman and others,

    The fact that I have understood through my own experience is that Reliance does not have the technical capability to provide the broadband service in many areas; I can vouch for Delhi, and it may be the same elsewhere as well, and the company continue to sell the product and even 3G service, obnoxious.

    What you have faced is an usual practice of Reliance. I have also faced the same problem. They have no/poor service in many areas of Delhi and the broadband service does not even offer highspeed internet connection; despite that they company continue to cheat the consumers by selling them broadband connection. I still have the broadband connection and it is an epitome of bad service. I have also faced a threat of a court case last year and was forced to pay, on of a court case.

    However, your right as a consumer does not stop there. You can sue the company at a consumer court near to you for the poor services you received (or not received) and the mental torture you have been made to undergo even on retrospective effect. If there is a call again from an advocate representing Reliance Communications, try to record the conversation on your phone, and take down the details of the advocate. You have to enquire about the advocate and if need be you could file a complaint against him for intimidation at a police station or with the bar council of India. You have to register a complaint against Reliance Communications at a consumer court near you, citing your problems and the number of complaints you have made as well as the complaint numbers, as many as you can. The process of registering a complaint is simple and cheap. You will have to send the copy of thecomplaint to the reliance headquarters or as act as directed by the consumer court officials. Reliance will be forced to respond and it will be giving them their own medicine.

    At the same time write an E-mail to the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India(TRAI) citing the practices of Reliance Communications.

    Also use social media network to spread the word around on the problems you are facing. There will be facebook forums that will be of help.

    You could also get in touch with a consumer activist NGO/ organisation in your area and ask for help.

    Muster all the help you can as you are against a monopoly; it will be helpful.

    I am trying to get as many complaints against Reliance for a class suit against the company for cheating the consumers on their promise of the services. Please reply to this mail for collective action on the same.

    Angry reliance court case threat with the help of goons

    In April 2011, I had stopped the Reliance datacard internet services by calling customer care number. I specifically asked the customer care executive to send me a written confirmation by mail that the services have stopped. The said person said that there is no need for written confirmation, the connection has been discontinued. This request was put in about 5 days before the bill was to be generated.

    I paid the bill for the month of April 2011 before the due date. From my end, all my dues were clear. I kept getting calls from Reliance customer care executives until october that I have not paid my dues. Apparently, the connection had stopped but the bills kept generating for the next 2 months. I refused to make any payments and asked them to check their call records and related issues that I had put in for discontinuing the services. Until December, I kept receiving calls that my outstanding amount has gone upto Rs.1697 (almost Rs.800 rental per month which was my plan).
    I again spoke to reliance customer care executive regarding non usage of data card and requested him to close the account. He told me that I neede to visit the web world to do so. I requested him to send someone to my place to collect all the necessary document as when the connection was required the sales representative came to my home to collect all the documents and deliver me the data card. He assured me that now onwards no bills would be generated.
    To continue with my horrors I received a call from reliance leagal cell saying that they are going to lodge a court case against me. I replied to that gentleman that I have not used the data card and I will not pay the bills after april as I had not used the said data card and I had requested the customer care to discontinue my sevices. The gentleman said that I am forwarding the case in delhi high court.
    I didn’t took the matter so seriously as I had not used the connection for that period and the amount was too small to fight for.
    But still I used to get these fraud calls from high court and sometimes from police stations. Since I have dealt with these leagal cases earlier I know that court does not call people on phone. They send leagal notices or summons.
    Now from a few days persons representing delhi police are calling on my number and are using abusive language and are forcing me to pay the amount for the period which I have not used. I am regularily harrased by these people for using the reliance netconnect.
    Today I spoke to national consumer helpline and they have registered my complaint asking me to write this email to you people.
    I am very disappointed with reliance communications which pretends to be such a big organisation is taking help of goons and fraud ways to frighten their reputed and educated clients.
    This is my humble request to you that please look into the matter and solve the case to the earliest or else I would be forced to go to the consumer court.

    Alok- Apke case ki file Delhi high court mein forward ki ja rahi hai..Apke paas sirf two options hain...(1) Delhi HC mein 35000/- pay karna (2) Abhi within 10 to 20 Mins Reliance Web World jake 4500/- pay karo aur mujhe reciept No. batao.
    Me- Shocked....
    Me- Ok..I am going to web world in 20 Mins.
    Me- I called to Manoj
    Me- Manoj Sir maine Alok Sir se baat kar le hai main Web World payment ke liye ja raha hun.
    Manoj- Accha ap WW jake mujhe bataiye case ka kya kerna hai.
    Me - Ok Sir. main web world jake apko call karunga.
    Immediately I went to web world within 10 Mins.
    Me- called to Alok Mathur
    Me- Alok Sir main Web World mein hun.
    Alok- Cashier ko phone do.
    Me-Ok
    Alok- He talked to cashier and found that my name is available but a/c is terminated.
    Alok - Anwar pay 4500/- to Cashier and tell me reciept no.
    Me- Ok, Sir
    Me- I paid 4500/- through my debit card.
    Me- called to Alok
    Me- Sir, I paid 4500/- and reciept No. is So and So.
    Alok- Ok Anwar future mein apko koi problem nahin hogi aur 5 days mein ek courier apke ghar ajayega.Aur Manoj ko inform kardo ki aout of court settlement ho gaya hai.

    Me- Called to Manoj.Hello Manoj Kumar Sir.

    Me- Sir, This is Mohd Anwar, I have been done out of court settlement. I have give my 4500/-payments receipt no. to Sr.Advocate Alok Mathur.

    Note 1-> I paid 4500/- because I fogot that due amount settlement was already done as mentioned in points 5 and 6. Here I would like to complain against to whom so ever concern.

    1.If settlement was already done three years back then why did they raised this issue again and threatning me for complain case in High Court as I am a student and cannot bear case expenditures to fight against them.

    2. I did not recieved any prior notice for this regard.

    3. I want return my 4500/- as I paid this for settlement (second time) which was not required.

    Note 2-> In first time settlement they had to close the account but they did not do, that's their mistake why should I pay again.

    Note 3-> I did not used reliance broadband service in compare to the amount which I have been paid.(very disappointing).

    Default Reliance broadband threatening calls.

    I am also a victim of this extortionism.
    I have recieved many calls from a certain Mr.Bhavani Singh(ctc no 8824395393) asking me yo pay up an outstanding amount of Rs.17000.00 which I had repeatedly refuted back in 2009.I had been grossly over billed.
    He says he is an advocate from Delhi and if I do not make the payment immediately(out of court settlement) the matter would go to court and i would be summoned to Delhi.
    Kindly look into this urgently.

    I didn’t took the matter so seriously as I had not used the connection for that period and the amount was too small to fight for.
    But still I used to get these fraud calls from high court and sometimes from police stations. Since I have dealt with these leagal cases earlier I know that court does not call people on phone. They send leagal notices or summons.
    Now from a few days persons representing delhi police are calling on my number and are using abusive language and are forcing me to pay the amount for the period which I have not used. I am regularily harrased by these people for using the reliance netconnect.
    Today I spoke to national consumer helpline and they have registered my complaint asking me to write this email to you people.
    I am very disappointed with reliance communications which pretends to be such a big organisation is taking help of goons and fraud ways to frighten their reputed and educated clients.
    This is my humble request to you that please look into the matter and solve the case to the earliest or else I would be forced to go to the consumer court.

    Dear Sir/Madam,

    I was using Reliance netconnection services since July 2009 with username 9371409180. I work as a medical transcriptionist from home through net, and I get paid on a daily basis.
    My net services were blocked by you twice in month of January (18/01/2010 & 22/01/2010) without any intimation. I had visited your webworld for further assistance, but received no help, only asking me to pay Rs. 5000 or wait till the new bill is generated and all this took place even after I had paid Rs 2,130 (receipt no. S156362511) on 18/01/2010. My services were blocked from 22/01/2010 and calling customer care and visiting webworld did not help and all caused in my losing a month's pay. Again, I had not been intimated about my service restoration in anyways and was not aware as I have been outstation during these periods to save my job, and during these periods, a bill received on month of April 2010 had been paid by my relatives.

    TWICE NEGLIGENCE ----------I have not used their services after they had terminated my service without intimation and again gave waive off and started my service without intimation from **********22/01/2010*******.

    I have gone through a lot of mental torture during these periods and I rang customer care to terminate their services and explained all the losses caused due to their negligence and extra month paid and they did mention that they will solve and terminate service.

    Later after almost a year in April 2012, i am getting harsh call from their advocate {blackmailing} to pay oustanding amount around Rs 3,000 or pay 25,000 Rs and she was rude to cut the phone also.

    It is sad so much of problem caused by them with giving no help when visiting webworld or making call to their large customer support.

    After ringing to different customer care team superior, junior and explaining the same.. why do not they understand simple problem
