Yes, it has already been 9 days, but still not a single call from the customer care, or any representative from Airtel. Following is the mail I had written to 121@airtel.in on the 7th day from my request:
This is with reference to my request numbers 3173942 and 3392482
I had registered a request (3173942) to shift my Airtel DSL 01204100589 from my address in Sector 49, Noida, to my new address in Sector 15, Noida
The request was registered on 29th August 2011, and I was told that the process would take maximum 3 days, and my internet would be working on or before the 3rd day at my new address. It has been 7 days since then, and the process has not even started. I have been tracking the status with the costumer care EVERYDAY, and I am told that they would be update me with the updated status very soon. Till now, neither have I received even a single call from the customer care, nor the connection at my previous address been disconnected. This has been a very dissatisfying service which anyone could expect from a company like Airtel which boasts of the nation-wide presence and its pan-India service.
I am a working professional, and I am in the office during the daytime. But since last week, me and one of my friend have been taking off from the office on alternate days to be at home so that the installation does not halt due to our non-presence at home.
After getting no response, on Friday(2-sept-2011) I had registered another complaint (3392482) that our connection still has not been shifted .
On Saturday(3-sept 2011) your executives asked for more time but still the status remains same. Finally I give them request for termination of services .
In spite of all our follow up and repeated inquiring of status we have not received a single call from Airtel
It feels so disappointing that Airtel does not heed to the requests of the customers who have been using the services from quite some time, and have never been a defaulter, and always made the payment on time.
I am writing this mail to thank you for your services, and to request you to send me the final invoice till 29th August 2011. I would like to settle my dues, and would like to cancel my subscription with immediate effect. I am also registering a case in the consumer forum with all these details charging against the mental harassment I have suffered, and the financial loss I have suffered by not being online, required for my e-commerce business
This is the reply I get from Airtel

My reply to Aritel
Hi,
Thank you for your response, but I would like to inform you that the delay is becoming never-ending. Till date, I have not got a single call for the shifting, and there seems no sign of it too.
I got just 1 call, that too from the retention department, who assured me that if I cancel the request for termination of the connection, he can get the connection working at my new place within 24 hours (24 hours was the MAXIMUM time, he had re-iterated). I was told that seeing the delay, my request has been put on a priority, new place has been verified to have the capability of connection, some jumper settings etc have been done.
Alas! it is close to 32 hours now, and still I am not only left without any connection, but also without a single call from Airtel. Now, I don't think that I am ever going to get the connection. Airtel doesn't even seem to have courtesy to call me to update with the status or the issue they are facing. Each time it is me who has to call, and wait for a long queue in the customer care, who transfer me from one person to another (because none of them has an answer to my query), and in the end I am promised for the working connection in less than 24 hours.
Ok, agreed there could be a condition which delayed the process, but doesn't Airtel have any courtesy (or rather, isn't it your duty) to call me up and inform me so that I can make some arrangements. As I said in my last mail, all of my work is online (I am a seller on ebay), and need to be online everytime to respond to customer queries, shipping the order, handling payments, making financial transaction etc. I had planned the shifting of my premises after discussing with Airtel (feasibility in the new location, the maximum time it could take), and then arranged internet for those 3 days well in advance. But Airtel left me without internet not only 1 or 2 or 3 extra days, but for 9 days (and this count is just increasing, for which I don't even see the end).
Who's going to pay the loss I have suffered due to this chaos? Each time I called, you left me no other option but to wait for next 24 hours. 3 unique complaints have now been registered just for a simple shifting request.
I am highly disappointed with the service and the kind of attention I am getting, and would definitely take up with the consumer forum. If this is the way you treat a customer who has been using your service from past 11 months, and has always made a timely payment of the bill, then you definitely need to improve.
Regards,
Amit
I don't know how long this process would take, and I am higly dissatisfied. But I don't know where to go and lodge my complaint. Can I have the phone number or email of some senior management or customer grievances who can heed to my complaint?
Regards,
Amit
