I applied for a airtel broadband connection at my residence in Faridabad, Haryana on 28/07. Airtel sales representative Mr Manoj Kumar, visited me, he took all the docs, got a form filled up by me, he also took a cheque of Rs 1500 from me. He promised that the connection will be made at my house on 28th itself if not then on 29th without fail. No one approached me, I noticed that Rs 1500 got debited from my account on 01/08. On 03/08 i called up your sales rep and he told that he will contact me tomorrow. No one contacted me , I called up their sales rep again on 04/08, he told that he will call me tomorrow. On 06/08 I called up their customer care and he told me that I will not get the connection since they have some DP problem. I was told thatRs 1500 will be credited to me within 45 days.
I again called their sales rep to confirm this so that I can contact another service provider. I wanted something written from airtel that they cannot provide the connection. Since my money is with them I want to avoid that scenario where I take another connection from some other service provider and then airtel comes to my house saying that you had applied for a broadband connection. Their sales rep told me that he will call me in the evening.
I also want to make a point over here, that before debiting the money from a customers account , airtel should do a feasibility study first, whether they can provide a connection or not. I would say this is cheating that a customer approaches them, they take some advance from him and then tell him that I cannot provide the service and i will return your money back in 45 days. This is spoiling airtel name bigtime in the market.
