    Red face TATA INDICOM PHOTON+ Billing Disputes

    I have purchased Tata Indicom Photon+ on 16-Jun-09 . I subscribed to the monthly charges of Rs 1100 scheme which includes free 10GB data download.

    After using the services till 29-Jun-09, mainly for official emails and normal internet browsing and official work, the services got disconnected. I received an SMS on 30-May-09 morning mentioning "Your Photon+ internet usage has crossed 75% of your bundled usage limit as on 29.06.2009. Usage beyond the limit will be charged at Rs 2/MB or Rs 1/min and I have got call from customer care and they say I used 18GB .But At the time of installation the service engineer told that I can check my usage details in "Huawei Access Manger application " in that its clearly showing that I only used 2.72 GB ." I called customer care and requested the reason why my services are barred. I got response that my limit has already crossed of Rs 1500 because of which the Internet service has been barred. I told the person that I received an SMS saying its only 75% of my usage limit in response to which I was told that as per record it's crossed the limit and if I need to access internet I need to pay at least Rs. 2216. I requested for the details of my usage and I was told that the details are not available and the details would be available only when the bill is generated. .

    I paid online Rs. 2216/- as I was in urgent need of Internet access and my Internet Service was resumed on 1-July-09.

    In the mean time I received the bill online which has usage charges (between 16-Jun-09 to 1-July-09) of Rs. 15,304/-. I complaint about it in the customer care (No. 179025647). The response was that whatever come in the bill is correct and I need to pay the amount. I requested for the details of my usage.

    I bought a Tata Photon + on 31st July 2009 having number 9230040689 9230040689 and account number 934185426.

    After using the photon I found that speed is very very low. I contacted customer support they gave me various settiing but couldnot increase the speed. The speed I was getting was in the range of 100 to 300 kbps. This was tested from the website provided by Tata support executive. The complaint was registered vide email on august 10 2009 vide docket number 184342283.

    Various executive visited my house, changed various setting in the computer but could not increase the speed. They checked with 2-3 computers at various locations in house and even used their own laptop to check but of no avail.

    On complaining to nodal office on august 11 2009 he closed the call informing me that speed between 256 kbps to 600 kbps is Ok. and had no explanation why my Photon is working so slow.

    On appealling to to Applleate Authority vide no. 193074549 dated 14th October 2009 I am yet to receive any answer.

    I hv stopped using the connection and is running around to get my refund from the comapny, for this expensive white elephant where the ad claims speed upto 3.1 MBPs but comapny says it is not possible.

    Now they are only asking for the bill which they have generated without solving the problem. The 3 bills I have already paid without getting any service, they are silent about it. The complaint to Nodal Office and Apellate Authority is still pending.

    Reg: Inflated Bill , Tata Photon Plus 9204553668
    With Due regards, I just want to put forth the complaint regarding the Tata Photon plus Connection No. 9204553668.
    1. I was threatened and Forced to make an advance payment of Rs. 500 on 26/02/2010, to reconnect my connection, in the month of Feb , for the bill which was not even generated at that time and told any error will be rectified later on.
    2. I have a lodged a written complaint against the same at that Tata Photon HUB at Fraser Road Patna (By Store Manager Mr. Saroj Jha) , initially he even refused to receive my written complaint , but later on the complaint was received .( I’am having a counter copy of that also)
    3. The complaint was never lodged at their end and hence no docket number was provided to me.
    The complaint was left unattended at their end. (Against the Rules of TRAI, which says for every complaint you have to give a unique docket number)
    4. Getting no response from their end I lodged a telephonic complaint and was responded that I will be receiving an itemized bill to check for the same , but even that complaint was not entertained in the stipulated time.
    5. Consequent to that I put another complaint at their end and was given another time frame for a new complaint no.
    6. Moreover I was called upon and forced to agree upon the closure of an earlier docket number of the complaint , which I refused , because that was unethical.
    7. Lastly as according to TRAI rules , I have tried to contact their nodal officers , but every time , the concerned nodal officer bihar was not on the line and instead the call was forwarded to some of their junior line executives as with the latest example my call was forwarded to abhishek thakur of Chandigarh but not to nodal officer bihar.
    Note :- I have even given them my monitored data usage , which was as monitored by their tata photon plus software , I have even mailed them the same proof , but instead of checking my usage the response was the very lame that , now complaint will be resolved till 24 th feb 2010.
    Nb (a) I’am having the proof of my data usage.
    (b) I’am also having a copy of my complaint which was received at Tata Hub , Frazer Road Patna (Store Manager MR. Saroj Jha)
    Please Note for the Lame response from

    Looking forward as the Last resort and my belief on Indian Law , I expect a resolvment of my complaint against the unethical company Tata .

    Moreover after receving my bill , i have submitted , where their is an error in the bill (Their is an overlapping of two sessions)
    But Till date no reply is being given from their end.

    Default Tata Indicom Photon+ Inflated Bills and mental harrassment

    I am a Tata Indicom Photon Plus user. (No: 9223997271) and have been using the services since August 2009. However, am extremely disappointed with the services. I was under the HSIA Photon Plus 5 Plan with a credit limit of Rs 2000. My usage had consistently been within limits all this while. However, suddenly my bill dated 9th January 2010 for the period 7/12/09 to 06/01/10 amounted to Rs. 1751 as against the usual 1048.

    I am working and I hardly use the internet so there is no scope of my usage crossing 5 gb. However, I still paid the amount as I could not afford getting the line disconnected while I tried to reason it out with the customer care.

    But, things got worse! I was shocked to see my next bill dated 9th February 2010 for the period 07/01/10 to 06/02/10 which amounted to Rs 4111. This is unbelievable and I refuse to agree with the bill as I do not have so much usage!! (Especially because I was in the hospital down with jaundice!)

    Moreover, when the unbilled amount was showing 4111, I was under the 5gb plan where my credit limit was only 2000!!! Practically, my line should have been disconnected the moment it crossed my credit limit. Instead it rose to 4111 without a single call from the customer care even mentioning that my credit limit has been crossed!!!!!!!

    I had requested for a plan change only later in the month with reference no 206736981 to the 10GB plan because of which my credit limit now shows 4000. But it was not so when the bill raised to 4111 because that time I was in the 2000 credit limit plan!!

    In spite of repeatedly calling up the customer service centre, no heed was paid. I registered a complaint twice. The latest one with a Reference no 210197481 on 19th February. However, instead of attending to my problem, all I get are these rude calls from their service centre asking me to pay my dues. I have never ever spoken to such rude people from a company. They just say that they are not wrong and that i have to simply pay whatever amount they are quoting.

    If I disagree with the bill, instead of resolving the dispute, they have disconnected my line!! I do not have any net connection right now, all i get are calls from their service centres discussing again and again the same thing with no results. I have even registered a complaint to the nodal officer, Mumbai after which i got a couple of calls from their department but till yet there has not been any conclusion nor have my services resumed.

    It not only is causing me immense problem to not have an internet connection (given that am working and there's a lot that gets stuck as a result) but at the same time there is tremendous amount of mental harrassment by their rude staff and the unlimited calls from Tata Indicom (these calls start coming even before the due date arrives!!!!!!!)

    I think a lot of people are facing inflated bill issues from Tata indicom and its high time an action is taken against the company for such poor, inefficient services
