I took Airtel-broadband, for home usage. It was a 499 plan. I am a genuine user of Airtel-broadband, since I took the plan there was no delay in payment from my side.
In a month suddenly I saw a bill of 13000/- rs, ideally it should not be more than 800/-. I called many times in their customer care to complain about these changes and to terminate the service, but they didn't do that and I got no response from there side. I used to get reminder calls for that bill. Finally I went to their office to submit their devices(Phone instrument and modem), but they denied to take it.
They told me that you asked us on phone to change the plan to some bigger corporate plan. But for me, corporate plan is of no use as I use internet just for surfing purpose at home. To me this sounds too fake, why would I go for some bigger plan if I was happy with the 499 plan, I am not running any office or business that I will need any corporate plan.
This went verylong, and one day one guy from Airtel office named 'Ali(mobile# 9993655540)' came Home with the printout of the bills, asking for payment of rs. 13000/-. He was literally bargained with us. I told him that I won't mind paying for the month I literally used the internet but I WILL NOT PAY for what I didn't use. I paid him some 835/- rs and he was convinced with the thing that 13k is some fake changes and that was some mistake from Airtel. He took that 835/- and gave a receipt and also, he was about to give NOC for that. But then he never shown his face again. Now after 2 months they started harassing us again with calls for payment of some 12k.
It's like a mental torture to me and my family to receive their non-sense calls.
If need be I will report this to consumer forum and file a case against Airtel for doing fake billing. I am not going to pay a single penny more than what I suppose to and I already paid that. I made the payment and now they are suppose to refund me the deposite of 300/-, which they took initially at the time of installation.
I took this pain to write here in some hope. Please do the needful.
