    Angry Tata indicom broadband services

    Hello Sir/Madam,

    I want to register a complaint against Tata Indicom broadband services. I took the broadband connection. The connectivity was bad and 70% of the times the net did not work. When I made a complaint, I was told every time you are not able to connect to the net, you can register a complaint with the customer care and they will take care of the situation.

    I have some very important presentations to be studied (which were on my mail ID) for an exam. I tried to connect to the net at home to download these but as expected the net would not work. As instructed I called up customer care on 080 60607070. After a long wait, the call is answered. The person makes me change the IP and then get the IP automatically. Still the issue is not resolved and he transfers the call to the network team. Again the same steps repeated. When this did not help they said we have raised a ticket (Ticket ID: 9858248) for the same and we would get back to you. In between the call is dropped thrice so again I had to call up verifying all details for another hour.

    The next day having heard nothing from them, I called them again. The technician again made me do the same steps. I had a talk to the floor supervisor Sathya and he assured me he would gather all details, look into the problem and get back to me. Another 24 hours passed and nothing seemed to work. The next day when I called them, they said the case is raised on a high propriety. The strange thing was they said that neither the call center employees nor the supervisors have any means of making calls to customers on the status. I asked them to send me a mail stating the status of the ticket. The lady Sandhya promised me that she would have the mailing department send me the complete details of the progress on the case. But as expected nothing happened. She even stated that the SLA was 24 hours to have the concerned department contact the customer. But in my case the SLA was gone long back.

    The worst was still to come. Next again when I called the customer care, a guy from the network team (Shravan) made me do the same settings and then he said he has done some settings on the network which should be reflected on my system as well in some 2 minutes. He asked me to plug out the wire for broadband and plug it in again. The moment I did this, I got the error saying audio service and DHCP client service has stopped on my system. He said this is now an issue with the system. Please note the system was working perfectly fine till this guy did some settings on the network, told me that they should be reflected on my system. I had a talk to another floor supervisor Shailendra and he said he would send some technician to look into the problem.

    Finally Sunday the technician arrived. For 1.5 hours he was doing some changes to the network, changing IP, TCP/IP properties etc. When he could not understand the issue, he got another laptop and said that the things are working completely fine there so it’s a problem with the system. Then the manager (Gulzar) told me the same things on c all. When I asked him the process to have the connection disconnected, he said that I have to login to some site and nobody explained the procedure to me correctly.

    How was I effected : I have been affected in the following ways:
    1. They did some settings on the network which effected my laptop badly. Now I have to get it formatted again and get it checked for any other issues created by these cheaters
    2. I spent some 1500 on calls, making calls to them and trying to have my issue resolved.
    3. I could not take the presentation and prepare for the exam.
    4. Uselessly I am paying 800 a month. When I ask them to reimburse the money for this period, they say that the billing department deals with it and how to contact the billing department, God alone knows

    What do I want: I want these cheaters should be taken to task properly. Nobody at tata indicom ever bothered to take my issue seriously. I want the following things:
    1. They reimburse the amount I have to spend to get my laptop repaired because of their settings.
    2. They reimburse this month’s bill and the mobile charges I have spent

    I shall be highly obliged if someone has a look into this.

    Hello Richa,

    We have gone through your complaint, but before taking any legal action we have to do some basic things which will strengthen your case. Just send a written notice to your area nodal office and mention all the details in it and ask them for the proper solution + compensation for damages within the mentioned period of 15-20 days. If they will not solve your problem within the mentioned time then contact us again.

    Angry Follow Up

    Hello Sir,

    I sent a mail to the nodal officer on June 2nd to look into the problem asking him to reply back in a week. I did not hear anything from them. I sent a follow up mail on the 9th of June asking them to at least send a mail saying they are looking into the issue. I had sent a written letter also to the adress mentioned in their website. I was told on a call with the customer care that the nodal officer would be addressing mails as well. There is no reponse from them and they are simply turning a cold shoulder to everything. A zillion times I have tried to contact them but no reponse.

    The customer care sent a mail saying to discontinue the service I have to pay the bill of the last month and return the modem. On call they said that their representative will come and take the appratus. I mailed them back saying noone contacted me for the appratus. To this they reply asking for the userid I have (which I have been giving to them on mail and on calls millions of times).

    There is no internal communication between customer care and the nodal officer. People at Tata Indicom are turning deaf ears to all communications from my side. I am completely losing my patience. Please see the mail I sent attached.

    If you need I can even send you the mails I sent to customer care. Sir I really dont understand how to go about this. Please help me.

    Hello Sir,

    I have sent all the email communication with Tata Indicom broadband services to your email ID <admin@consumercourt.in>. I am extremely sorry if you feel that your mailbox is spammed but you can see all the mail communication I had with them and yet no action has been initiated either by the nodal officer or customer care.

    Hello Sir,

    Now tata insicom people are calling up daily saying the due date for the bill payment has passed. When I ask them if they have seen my mails or did they communicate with the nodal officer, they simply give no answer, say ok and disconnect the call. Next day some other executive from customer care will call up with the same story.

    Sir please help me. There is absolutely no communication within the organization. I have lost all pateince and attending their calls daily is another headache.

    Just an update... My LAN card has been totally corrupted by tata indicom people. I went for a new broadband connection (Airtel) which didnt work as the LAN card was corrupted. So now in addition to getting the machine formatted I need to have the LAN card changed as well.

    Hello Sir,

    Tata Indicom customer care is calling up everyday. Today also some female called saying she is sending her executive to collect the adapter. When I requested to speak to the nodal officer, she is asking me what the problem is. It seems to me that nowhere do they maintain what issues a customer is facing.

    Kindly help me and suggest me what is to be done now. I have lost all patience dealing with these people. Daily they are calling and asking first for bill payment (which I dont understand since I sent a mail for disconnection (the same I forwarded to you as well)) and collecting the instrument. But still nobody is bothered to even give a look into the issue. Leave aside the reimbursement there is no senior official who can at least give a call and take the ownership of the issue that has occurred.
