    I am an airtel subscriber right from the time they launched their ISP services in India i.e. almost 7 years and i have been experiencing the same issue..its really very disappointing to feel duped or cheated after being associated with the company for so long..I m running on a 512 kbps speed and my downloading speed via torrent goes only to 2-3kbps..I have spoken to the customer care people and they told me that the torrents have been blocked by airtel. The user would get the usual speed only after 11 at night..I m just unable to understand the logic behind this move by airtel..I have never faced this difficulty in last 6 yrs via downloading through torrent and suddenly one day airtel wakes up and changes the policy without notifying the issue to their customers

    Moreover if there's any speed related issue which airtel is facing in regards to the downloading via torrents then ideally they should fix the problem at their end & NOT restrict the user to download from the torrents..I think its totally unethical of airtel to conduct its operations in such manner..We are paying them the hard earned money

    I guess the only way left out is to switch to another ISP rather than airtel..but its really disheartening to feel such way after you have been hooked to same company for past 7 years..I would really like to see airtel higher management take some action on this concern..

    saME heRE broDa ... i hav got the same coNNEction and getting the saMe speed of 5-10k duRIng 10am -10pm ...itz REally FRustating ....and these aiRtel peopLE give the sAME crAppy reply to eveRY1 ...people should definately change theiR ISP ... if airteL DOES'NT GIV SHIT TO THeir CUStomERS THEN WHU SHOULD WE !!! THROTTLING OUR BITTORRENT SPEED ...I THINK WE SHOULD THROTTLE THEIR BIll ON OR PArt !!! BUNCH OF LIArS ... U WIL SUFFER ...NOTE IT DOWN ...WE ARE NOT FOOLSSS ...

    Default Airtel CHEAting its customers

    i hav been a airtel user for a long tym..but since last year june..airtel is cheating its customers..in india out of 100% broadband users only 30% knows what broadband policy is ,exact download & upload speed,Fair usage policy,Bill cap etc. 70% users doesnot exactly know this stuff. bcoz they r provided with limited information n r not heavy users of data transfers. n airtel is taking a advantage of it.

    So they came up with this idea of throttling(i.e blocking) n degrading speed of torrent n other impt websites from where users used to download other different stuffs.

    Apart from the FUP [ i.e after reaching the maximum mentioned usage,, speed degrades to 256kbps(i.e 32KB)], plus the speed between 10 am to 11pm further degrades for 512kbps(i.e 64KB) users to a speed of 4-6kbps, for 1mbps(128KB) a speed of     9-10kbps, for 2mbps(256KB) a speed of 15-20-25kbps.

    this is what airtel does to the customers...its thier new policy(they feel very proud i guess)

    What seems funny to me is ,,, they write in thier website in thier stupid plans--> unlimited usage with a speed of 2mbps in bold letters.......ha n ha n ha.....

    A problem that every airtel broadband user is facing now a days....

    Airtel is blocking me newphew's connection no 42958022 . PROBLEM IN A NUTSHELL : AIRTEL ENGINEERS HAVE CONFIRMED THAT THEIR BACKEND OFFICES 121 CUST CARE IS THROTTLING TORRENT SPEEDS . BUT THEIR MANAGER MR SANTOSH THREATENS THAT HE WILL BLOCK THE CONNECTION . THE FOLLOWING AIRTEL 121 cust care no. employees hang up the call after listening to the complaint . : MR . EHZAD , MR SYYED , MR IRFAN KHAN , MR PRASAD KAMAT , MR GYANESH , MR MOHAMMED , MR AHMED , MR GIRISH , MR CHETAN & MS NEHA & THE BLOODY MANAGER SANTOSH .

    Landline - 42958022 , airtel is blocking torrents on my 4mbps plan . Okb/s speed ! This justifies me not paying the bill .

    Default Airtel is a cheat as far as throttling is concerned

    People i also have the same problem. Airtel is throttling its connection it does this everyday from 10:30 am to 11:00 pm in the night and i can't use bittorrent at all cos i get 10-20 kbps instead of 2 mbps and they doesn't respond well to complaints and even doesn't mind being ignorant of the term "throttling". I say they are illegally cheating the customers of their hard earned money this complaint should be put in the parliament and these thugs should be punished.
