    Tata Indicom is cheating customers in every possible way. They deliberately delay the Photon+ activation/installation so that they can charge lumsum amount in the name of pro-rata even after offering free 10GB data. No one explains you what is pro-rata and how the bill will be calculated and you get a shock when you receive the first bill. After getting a connection @ Rs.4000 and using it for only 6 days Tata Indicom has barred my connection and slapped a bill of Rs.15000 even after I used below the 10 GB limit. How can they charge for something which they are offering as free?

    Default TATA INDICOM PHOTON+ Billing Disputes

    I have purchased Tata Indicom Photon+ on 16-Jun-09 . I subscribed to the monthly charges of Rs 1100 scheme which includes free 10GB data download.

    After using the services till 29-Jun-09, mainly for official emails and normal internet browsing and official work, the services got disconnected. I received an SMS on 30-May-09 morning mentioning "Your Photon+ internet usage has crossed 75% of your bundled usage limit as on 29.06.2009. Usage beyond the limit will be charged at Rs 2/MB or Rs 1/min and I have got call from customer care and they say I used 18GB .But At the time of installation the service engineer told that I can check my usage details in "Huawei Access Manger application " in that its clearly showing that I only used 2.72 GB ." I called customer care and requested the reason why my services are barred. I got response that my limit has already crossed of Rs 1500 because of which the Internet service has been barred. I told the person that I received an SMS saying its only 75% of my usage limit in response to which I was told that as per record it's crossed the limit and if I need to access internet I need to pay at least Rs. 2216. I requested for the details of my usage and I was told that the details are not available and the details would be available only when the bill is generated. .

    I paid online Rs. 2216/- as I was in urgent need of Internet access and my Internet Service was resumed on 1-July-09.

    In the mean time I received the bill online which has usage charges (between 16-Jun-09 to 1-July-09) of Rs. 15,304/-. I complaint about it in the customer care (No. 179025647). The response was that whatever come in the bill is correct and I need to pay the amount. I requested for the details of my usage.

    Tata modem no. 9250092720 Hi, i bought a data modem for internet surfing it had 2 months free services. It activated on 14may 2009. but tata deactivate this service on 28may and said that i inserted this sim to any other device or any sim to data card which i dint do. tata customer care giving a excuse for this. and not giving proper response about this. and due date is 21june of the payment of 171 rs. so i want my free period back and want to give an example to tata that they may do with other customer also. please take some action asap. you can contact me at my mob no. 9312852122 or email anushrav.dixit@ge.com for further detail any time
    Its mental harassment for me they are not resolving my problem after making so much complain
    I want to discontinue my services and want my money back from tata

    Thumbs up Photon + actual pro rata calculation

    I bought photon + modem on 11th june 2009 and my billing cycle was 17th may to 16th june 2009. i paid 4000 rupees as modem charges and was said free data usage of 2GB for two consecutive months. so i started using taking into consideration free data usage of 10GB. on 17th tataindicom generated a bill of 8645 for me. i was shocked and compalined to the customer care, gallery and eventuallly to the nodal officer. so after 10 days i was explained what pro rata is and how is it calculated. and was made to pay 1380 to reconnect my internet connection.

    guys pro rata is applicable if your connection is suspended for somedays due to some reasons. your data is not calculated for those days as free usage in the final bill except for get started plan.

    for example you get 10GB free usage for a month in a particular plan. then the 10GB is contributed into 31 days i.e. 330MB each for 31 days which makes your billing cycle.

    if you have your connected suspended for say 2 days. then according to pro rata charges. you wont be able to use 330MB x 2 of your 10GB free usage. similarly you wont be paying 1250 as your monthly rental instead you pay 1179 (1250 - (40.50 x 2)) deducting 2 days rental.

    Send a written notice via registered post to your area nodal officer and mention all the details in it and ask them the detailed bill of your usage.

    Dear Mr. Keswani,

    Greetings of the day!!

    This is in reference to Tata Indicom Photon Plus Phone No. 9212600841, I
    would like to bring to your notice that i am highly disappointed with Tata
    Indicom services. I had bought Photon + connection along with HP laptop
    scheme whereby i am entitled to free usage of 2GB over and above my plan of
    0.5 GB usage. Thereby I am entitled to the usage of 2.5GB for the first
    month.

    My connection has been barred due to over usage, but
    the fact being i have not used even my 2.5 GB of entitled usage. As per "my
    acount" login on Tata Indicom website, I have just used approx 1.5 GB and
    the same is shown on the "statistics" section of the software "Huwei Acess"
    which comes along with Photon +. My unbilled amount is shown to be something
    of Rs.5995, which is strange. For what usage have I been charged?? I am not
    liable to pay anything till the usage of 2.5GB, so there is no question of
    me adhering to your credit limit.

    I have called Tata Indicom several times infact more than 10 times(Mr. Rahul
    on 06th July 2009)have also visited your Lajpat Nagar branch(Mr. Neeraj
    Thakran, Sr. Executive) and have also spoken to Mr. Sunil Kumar, Nodal
    Office, but don't seem to have any solution. My Complaint numbers are :
    179070913, 179581217 (Mr. Rahul, customer care) and 564390693 (Mr. Sunil
    Kumar, Nodal Office). I am highly disappointed and frustrated due to the
    mental harrassment caused because of your irresponsible response. If all
    these charges are not reveresed and a clear picture of my account is not
    provided to me within 24 hrs, then I will be forced to move to the consumer
    court and address this issue there.However I am marking a copy of my e-mail
    to the consumer court forum.

    I look forward to hearing from you with a solution to my problem at the
    earliest

    Angry Tataindicom fooling customers

    Hi,

    My name is sagar ramgade, i ve taken tata indicom photon plus after 1 month they installed it at my palce. I have taken a plan of Hsia get started 400 plan monthly rental of Rs 400 and a night unlimited pack rental Rs 199. In Get started plan i am allowed to use 150 Mb and night unlimited in which i can use upto 10 GB. But in a month they deactivate my line 2-3 times stating that i ve crossed my credit limit of Rs1000. I didn't understand if they are providing add on pack of 10 Gb, they should ve proper tracking system for customers data usage during a day and a night. What tata indicom follow, they calculate your daily data usage and charge you Rs 2 /Mb and deactivate the line stating that credit limit exceeded. I don't understand why they provide add on pack of Rs200 of upto 10 GB data usage, if they don't allow a customer to use more than Rs 1000 unbilled amount that means not more than 500 Mb. In my the billing cycle is 19 of every month, and my line has been deactivated. So i ve to wait till 19th august in order to prove them it was used during night. I ve to pay monthly rental without using it. These hidden policies are never exposed by marketting executives while they are selling these products. I strongly wanted to expose this hidden policies of tata indicom. Please i want to take a legal against them i need help of consumer court in order to execute this actions so any customer will not suffer like me.

    good services.but net month he is going to personal services i mean bade log bade
    bathe. coneection is not working. this customercare department is very very poor my
    complaint for not action. so i will go to consurmer court. please return my

    This is Kala. I too have been facing so many probs with TATA photon+. Actually I've taken device on 3rd august 2009,they said that day itself only that device will be activated. but it was taken more than 2 days for me to get activate, that too after making many calls they have done that. They said 2 GB in during day times and 10 gb during night times I can use according to my tariff. and initially 10gb is free and Iam working as soft ware engineer, so that first bill is free. But 20th august I got a phone from tata indicom stating that I got the bill Rs 8500, for 14 days after all. And I've to pay the bill, I asked to send me the bill, they said "no, it didnt generate till now, once it generates we'll send across". Can you explain what kind of answer was this? I asked tata indicom guy, without generating bill, how can I pay, that guy so rashly he was answered and told that " you can pay dollars/ pounds/rupees, in this way you can pay, we can accept any currency", this was the answer what I got from customer care superviser. They promised everything like quick installation and activation, 10 gb free, etc., but they did not stand on what they promised. Except chatting in gtalk/skype I did not use this device. he said like I used for 12800 gb within 14days. Just imagine? And more over that device was not connected continuously, it used to disconnect for every 5 or 10 minits. With such a kind of device who will use for 12,800 gb. And today without giving any prior info, they de activated my device. When I called customer care reg that, those people kept me waiting more than 20 min. At last they said I've to pay amount atleast Rs 2200. What is this? Iam very much disappointed with Tata Indicom services.

    If these charges are not reveresed and a clear picture of my account is not

    Hello,

    Before filing case you have to do some basic formalities which may help you if you need to knock the court, just send a written notice to your area nodal officer via registered post, mention all the details in it with complaint nos.

    Note: Do not forget to keep the slip of registered post in safe, it will help you if the parent company will not solve the issue with in the mention time of 15 to 20 days.

    Default Regarding Photon+ billing and misleadign customers

    Dear sir,

    as everyone I am a harassed customer of photon+. its not been even a month now and my connection has been suspended twice due to "over credit limit". what i want to enquire is.. is the company not liable to instruct its customers about the pro rata basis download of data. the executives that sell us the connection do not tell us about anything of this sort and we end up paying huge amounts. i have made calls to the customer care worth more than the bills and still the problem remains the same. Secondly, according to the company surfing is free of charge. But then, while you are surfing and you open a website under the download link in the company's software " huawei access manager", it clearly shows that you are downloading data which means you are being charged for the so called free surfing. it would be very kind of you if something fast could be done against the company otherwise it will keep on harassing the customers at will.

    Just like all of you, I had a lot of problem in the beginning.

    Then I sent email to all the big officials of Tata Telecommunications including the owner/President Ratan Tata and various ministries of the government of India and regulatory bodies/organizations.

    Since then I got everything working in good condition/speed. On my suggestion they even established a 1-800 toll free number to Photon+ customers who are not using the Tata cell phone. Now you can suspend your HSIA up to three months without any charge if you are going out of the country.
    You can get full customer service at 1-800-266121, but only during office hours. I am planning on getting them to have this number available 24/7.

    When I was not getting proper signal all the time they even installed a special booster antenna on the roof of the building I lived in.

    You have to deal with them very strictly and claim your rights as a customer.

    Write to all the big bosses of Tata in detail about your bad experiences and your frustration and they will be on their feet to provide satisfactory services.

    There is no point in fretting and fusing in your home/office take some solid action.

    I noticed in one thread, writing to the big wigs helped. Goes without saying that I too am facing similar issues and I have been using this for only a week. They even messed up my tariff plan. My usage is high and from what I;m reading the worst is yet to come.. I am in Bangalore. So can someone share some contact info (email/ tel number) on some big wigs?.. I feel that would really help.
