This is Prabhat Ram. I have a 384kbps night plan from in2net (Sanpada - Navi Mumbai) which is 9pm - 9am, and 24hrs on Sunday. I've had this ISP for the past 4 years or so. And right from the very first day I started having connectivity problems, ranging from no connection, intermittent disconnects, pathetic speeds. Initially, I just went along like any new user would, like lodging complaints, waiting for their arrival to fix the issue. But it would only happen if I went there and met them in person like everyday for about a week and they would finally show up like some heroes, resolve the issue which would luckily last without a hiccup for about 2 weeks max. And then the same disgusting problems would creep up. And the icing on the cake is that 8 out of 10 times, they had the audacity to say that only my line was having problem and they had no complaints from other users. So either no other user cared a damn (which i doubt), or simply I'm entitled to their super special service. I've called even their main office, and they'd come up with the same condescending tone of any customer service executive would, but without any long lasting result. The only reason I went along for these freaking 4 years is because there's no other ISP in my area, and even if there are, their tariffs are either not appealing, or it's just their reputation precedes their service or lack of. I once tried to change to TATA wireless net, but guess what, right on the day of installation (a day too late as per their promise) they installed the wrong package and then other secrets were revealed too regarding the speed divisions and many other things which were contradictory to what was told to me while introducing their plans. And then a 2 hour or so long conversation finally ended in me telling them to scrap the connection, which they did very promptly. And I had to choose between the worst of the two, so I went for in2net again. First two days no problem, and then their ritual started. Net would disconnect sporadically during the nighttime and the other day I would complain to them, they'll promise on fixing it by the evening, but only to end up with the SAME problem again that very night, and this was repeated throughout the week.
BOTTOMLINE: in2net's speed's good and tariff are good too, but here's the catch, non-existent service, they act as if they're doing a favour. Half of them act as if they know the system (PC), which they don't. On their toes to collect the money, but care-a-rat's-ass sort of approach for customer support.
So is there any way through which I can really make them pay for my horror, barring all the letters and conversation approach, which till now hasn't done much.
