Hi,
I was unfortunate to have got a reliance broadband connection in the month of November of 2009.
As everyone know, the one thing they are good at is sending out reminder email and call for bill collection. I had a very poor service and still had to depend on that as there were no other service available.
I had to shift my house to another apartment in the month of March. As the new apartment where I was going had a BSNL I had no use for reliance and had to quit the service. I called up the call center in the last week of march and told the lady that I am requesting for cancellation of service and let me know where I had to drop off the reliance instrument and modem. The lady told that the request has been noted and she also informed me that I will be getting another feedback call from another department. I confirmed with her if I had to call anybody else or mail any one she said nothing to be done more from my side. She never gave me a number (confirmation number).
As usual we paid the bill to a collection agency guy on 31 March by cash.
I had shifted to my new apartment in the last week of March and since I got no call from reliance I had to carry their instrument also with me and there was no follow up and I had to go out of the country on a business trip and totally forgot about the connection or cancellation.
By April 28th I got a mail from reliancebroadband ada for payment of the bill for the month of April, which got me totally pissed and I mailed back immediately and asked for the reason and explaining about the call made to the callcenter and if the complaint has not been registered by the girl executive. No response.
My the month of June I got another bill asking me to pay for an overdue of 1516. By the time I had written mail to a guy called Mukesh Kumble who never responded back to me
my the end of June I had mailed atleast 8 times and got atleast 10 calls from reliance asking for bill and everytime when I tell the story they apologize and wait for a week before sending a reminder mail and another call.
Finally I wrote a lengthy mail to reliance ada and asked for a help. Explaining the whole story and even the excerpts of some of the call about a call center girl apologizing for not registering the complaint and asking me to do a fresh one which I rejected as if I am to to register a fresh complaint, its like me accepting for the delayed payment of bill.
I got a response from a guy Bilal and said he will take care of my plight and just the next day evening I got a call from a number (reliance offcourse) to pay the bill or they will take the necessary actions !
I mailed immidiately to Bilal thinking it was sent out from the collection agency and without any approval of the reliance ada. I got a response back saying that the connection has been temporarily suspended because of the non payment of the bill and requesting to make the payment !
I dont understand and I feel like I am talking to the wall. The proof of my first call for cancellation to reliance should be with them and they say they dont have the request registered All I have is the mail that I sent to Mukesh and reliance on April 29th after I got the mail from them.
I am not asking for a favour of them to cancel what I used. I am just trying to tell them I cannot pay for their own callcenter executives incompetence I cannot pay for something that I had not used. My statement is just black and white.
I would never advice anyone to go for reliance broadband even there are no internet, its just not worth it.
Thanks and regards,
Gowtham
