I have taken reliance internet connection (Netconnect data card) through Vriti on June 21st and at the time of purchase Mr Abhinav Pandey (sales exec from Vriti) had promised me a minimum speed of 256kbps since Pune is one of the cities where Reliance has a Broadband+ services and I stay in city limits.
However, so far it’s never that the speed has exceeded this minimum guaranteed lower limit of 256kbps. In fact based on several internet based speed tests that I have perfomred so far the speed generally ranges from 50 to 150kbps max both upload and download, which is really dismal and like a dialup connection with gmail taking anywhere between 3-5 minutes to load. Night times the connection is even more pathetic with speeds of 2-5 kbps and gmail not opening at all.
I have called the customer care of reliance atleast 5-6 times to resolve this and the standard reply that I get is to check my internet options and clear cache or that I would hear from them within 2-15 days, which is really poor on their part. Last call that I had with them, they have finally agreed that there is congestion problem in the area that I stay.
My point is that, if there was a congestion problem in the area which I stay, I should have been informed about the same at the outset and then I would have definitely not opted for Reliance. It’s not that I had taken the connection at one place and I have shifted to another which would be my fault. Over here it was clear cut informed to Vriti that I stay here and I would use it for personal purposes.
Given the poor state of affairs, I would like to go for a disconnection with full refund of the charges that I have paid for purchasing the data card. When I have said the same to reliance customer care they are asking me to get the refund from Vriti since I have not purchased from them directly. So when I contacted Vriti guys (over here Vikas -phone number 8055874942 the guy from whom I brought netconnect, he has plainly rejected the refund, saying that its not a problem with the device, but a problem with the service so i should not talk to them, which i think is bullshit, because from day one the service has been bad and they knew my address, they should have sold me the device in that case).
FYI: Let’s take a simple case, I take a Lifebuoy soap, which turns out to defective, I would approach the vendor i.e. Big bazaar, Spencer or whatever might be the case instead of going to Hindustan Unilever directly. Because it’s the vendor's responsibility to act as an intermediary in this case and give the defective product/service to the manufacturer. Similarly, its vriti's responsibilty to resolve this issue and not play around with the customer, especially when the assure me of certain speed which is of primary importance in this case.
Bottomline is I have taken the device particularly for speed, which is critical. So they either provide me the same or refund my money and let me take a connection with Airtel or someother vendor (who has better service at my place, because if they can’t serve my purpose I am better off going to some alternate service provider.
What’s more frustrating is that when I spoke to the technical team at Vriti through Abhinav around 2 days back, he said that he would get back to me in 30 minutes and ultimately didnt turn up so far.
Now to make matters worse Reliance has disconnected my service without any proper intimation to me. Just wanted to inform the customers about Vriti Interactive services (online partner of Reliance) and Reliance Care’s Careless attitude towards customers.
