Hi,
I applied for an Airtel broadband connection on 25th April 2010, I made an advance payment for that billing cycle (26th April - 25th May) and received less than average service from them. The internet connection would disconnect frequently and in the 1st 15 minutes of staring the modem, the broadband was extremely slow. I logged complaints with their customer service but this continued inspite of that. On 24th May I requested the customer service associate to disconnect the connection when the current billing cycle would end, he assured me it takes 48 hours to disconnect the line and would be done but the line has not been disconnected till date and I have been charged for the billing cycle 26th May to 25 th June (Rs. 550) and for the current billing cycle too i.e. 26th June to 25th July.
I registered complaints several times with them to disconnect the line but they never followed up on them, also I got a call from the retention department on June 8th saying he was sorry for the deficiency in service and was offering free internet service for 15 days but I refused and asked him to disconnect the line because I had already switched to a different Internet Service Provider (ISP) by then (I have receipts of payments to the ISP for June,July).
Its been more than 50 days and they still havent disconnected the line and keep giving me assurances and are sending me bills for service I havent used.
I am considering legal options here as am fed up of dealing with them.
Any help is much appreciated.
Thanks.
Regards Mohit.
