Dear Sir/Madam,

Greetings. I purchased a reliance broadband connection in the month of Jul'09 in Chennai. I was using it regularly till Apr'10. The data card suddenly stopped working by end of Apr'10. So i took it to the customer care (webworld) where they tried for couple of hours and then asked me to take it to their service center. When i gave the data card at the service center, they asked me to produce the purchase bill to check whether the data card is on warranty. But the sales guy who gave me the data card hasn't given me any bill for the purchase i made. So the service center team said they will check with Mumbai office and get back to me whether the card is in warranty. After a week they reverted to me saying that the data card is in warranty but cannot be service unless i produce the bill. I even told them to service the card and i will pay for that. But they refused to do so.

After this i took the data card back and i took another internet connection from Airtel. Now reliance is sending me bills month after month, even after i explained them that the connection is not working. After 2 and 1/2 months now they are thinking of terminating the connection but they are torturing me through phone and email to pay the remaining amount (Rs.1750). Today i received a "Demand notice" from reliance which stated that they would file a case against me in many case if this money is not paid.

Is this the way a consumer should be treated? Should i pay the remaining amount even though it is the mistake of reliance. Please advise.

Regards,
Kamal
