    Default Tata Communications Internet Services Limited - Security Deposit Not Refunded

    Dear Sir/Madam,
    I had taken Tata Indicom Broadband connection (ACC000126058, User Name: vpalchar@eth.net) in June 2005 and got it terminated on 29-Apr-2009 due to poor uptime & service. I had duly returned their equipment with me for this Broadband connection.

    Since then I have been following-up on refund of my Security deposit (Rs. 1000) with their Customer Service, and escalated it to their Nodal Officer and Appellate Authority through below-mentioned complaints, mails and phone calls.
    However till date they have not acted on it despite having a clear written Service Benchmark of "Time taken for refund of deposits (if any) after closure 100% within 60 days".

    Complaint numbers filed with their Customer Service: 10617168, 10728048, 10812164, 10929354, and 11111002

    I even published my issue in Times of India’s (Hyderabad edition) Reader's Grievances on 12-Feb-2010 but to no avail.

    I now want the Refund of my security deposit and appropriate compensation for the mental harassment from the negligent behavior of Tata Communications Internet Services Ltd on this issue.

    Thanks for your reply and pointers to Consumer Court addresses. That was useful info.
    Can you pls also point me to the process to be followed for filing such consumer complaint?

    Dear Customer care - Tata Indicom,
    How is your above reply & action different than what I followed-up on in last one year?
    These complaints generally get closed in absurd manner after the concerned person diligently calls my mobile to verify my name, address and other credentials - I have tried finding out why they are checking on this when they should actually be working on getting me the refund. The numbers of complaints filed (and these are just the one I cared to track) and shared above are testimony to the futility of such action & reply.
    I wonder how a company associated with the repute of Tatas can be so callous.

    It is now more than 15 days since you first replied to this complaint. Your team has grossly misused the word 'shortly' for a resolution. By when (pls give me a date) you will be able to close this issue?

    Any update on where my refund is?
    In another two weeks we will have the first anniversary coming up for the termination of your connection but no news on refunding my security deposit. Is this how you treat all your customer's security deposits?

    Tata Indicom Broadband,
    It’s high time that you stopped fleecing customers of their security deposits!
    It is now 1 year since this connection was terminated and you have not made any attempt to return my deposit.

    can any one tell me the guidelines regarding refund of secutiy deposit by the internet service provider.
    how long can a internet service provider take to return the securiy deposit for modem, after i surrender my connection.

    In case of Tata Indicom Broadband, their written policy is to return the security deposit within 60 days of closure of the account.

    BTW they have some weird policy of suspending the account mandatorily for 60 days from the day the customer asks them (in writing) to disconnect/discontinue the BB service before they actually close the account. So at a minimum it is four months, from the day of discontinuing their service, before you can expect the security refund. If it does not come through in this period, expect the turnaround in next 30 day period every time you reopen/file new complaint for it.

    I myself have been waiting for more than 1-year now to get my refund w/o any luck with them

    Default Pathetic service provided by TATA photon plus

    I have taken a photon plus connection with number : 9246997332. The very first day i connected my device it was not even detected by the system and after arguing for 2 days they had replaced my device. After replacement the new device gets heated up and not getting appropriate speed.

    It takes 2 minutes for a page to open up and a download speed of 10 Kpbs . They suggested fixing an antenna for the device which was supposed to be a portable device.

    i have complained to the nodal help desk and the appellate authority but to no go . The issue was never addressed.never got any satisfactory response.

    Is tata service so pathetic ,worse , and worthless., Companies like this should be banned in India . i want to claim a compensation for all i have faced.

    So is there any way that i can make the service provider pay for all the trouble that i have faced and this thing costed me my work.
