Hello,
Have you anything like company leaflet that support your statment. If so then kindly let us know.
Hi Admin,
This is to bring to your kind notice about the wrong commitments made by the Airtel executives indirectly by Bharthi Airtel.
I am working in an MNC in bangalore and I had bought an Airtel broadband connection on 28/07/2009. I had paid rs. 1000(cheque -702626 -ABN AMRO)( as (security + installation charges). We asked if wi-fi is included in the plan(4gb free , 2mbps, rental - 749 plan) and the executive promised that it will be provided along with the plan without any extra charges. the executive name is Fahad(munnekolala, Marthahalli circle). I also confirmed that later if I want to change the name to other person do I have to pay any transfer charge and he said that it can be done without any extra charges. Since the connection charge is bared by my company, I took the connection on my name because later if I want to change I would transfer the connection to my room mate who also has this facility provided by his company to claim the broadband charges, thinking as its not going to be any extra cost to transfer the name later.
So the connection procedure was fine(08042086107,acct.no 15056607) and i got the connection on 31/07/2009 without the promised wi-fi router but got only the normal ADSL router. I asked for it and the installation person said that there is no stock available and it will be given after a week once the stock is available. I called up the customer care he said the same thing. Hoping for it, I kept quiet.
To my surprise, I got the first bill on 04/08/2009 with the amount as Rs. 1024. I called up the customer care and asked about this and they said the the billing cycle is on every 5th of the month. And they said that the usage will be calculated accordingly based on the usage. He explained that 4GB is for 30 days, for 15days its 2GB, 7 days its almost 1 GB. I kept quiet with this explanation and had asked for the wi-fi router and still he said the stock is not available, I scolded the person and kept the phone as I was very much angry on their commitment. (I paid this amount on 23/09/2009, Rs 1100 , BIL/000121356429/vinod-airtel/AIRTEL_MICI9094)
After 2 weeks, I asked for the router and the person said that I have to may extra rs. 1500(wrong commitment) to avail the wi-fi. I asked the person that this is not the promise made by the executive and I demanded for the installation of the router without any cost as I was promised by the executive. The person said that the company rule has changed and the executive may not know the new rules. Isn't that the company's responsibility to educate their executive for any new change in the rule before targeting a customer?. I asked the same question and he said sorry.. sorry for everything. I hung up the call and discussed with the roommate and again called to transfer the account to my friend's name, Adding to the fuel, he said that for the transfer we need to pay Rs. 500.(again wrong commitment) If this is the case, Its better for me to disconnect the line itself. So I decided to disconnect the line itself. I asked them to disconnect the line and they said that they will take the request giving me a wrong service request.
The next month bill amounts to - Rs 1180. And on 21/09/2009 they deleted my online account, and after two days a guy came to install a new wi-fi demanding Rs 1500. I said that I have disconnected the line itself for the wrong commitment and asked him to take the instrument. He denied and later another guy came to take the instrument and I returned the instrument. He asked about the pending bill amount of Rs. 1180 and I said I can't pay it unless I get the security deposit.
I got a legal notice on this from Airtel to pay 1492(difference in amount - 1180 - ([1100-1074]26) = 1154. I really don't know why should I pay Rs. 338 extra. According to me I have to pay Rs. 154 including the security deposit(1000) that they owe to me. If security deposit is Rs. 500 then I have to pay. Rs. 754..
I am ready to pay the actual amount also but I need to fight for my cause and for the metal torture given by them and for the bad ethics they follow to attract customers with wrong commitments.
I really wont go for Airtel in my lifetime and will not suggest anyone to go for it.
Please take this forward and let me know, What should be done legally on this.
Please advice.
Thanks,
Vinod

Hi,
Thanks for the follow up.
Could you please tell me an ETA for this when you will be coming back on this or any reference number to this issue so that I will inform the person who is calling me again and again to pay the bill.

In Delhi, Noida hundreds of TOWERS for mobile services are going to be sealed, which means they are soon going to be out-of-service, which is going to create a problem for the consumers.
We the CONSUMER should file cases in consumer court against these companies for the problem we(the consumers) are going to face like.. loss of work, loss of bussiness hours, disconnectivity, call drop, bad network, decreased quality of service, unable to provide service for which consumer is already paying money.
because the companies break rules & regulations and make the consumer to suffer.
Will you file a case?
Hi,
This to bring in your kind notice how Airtel executives are making fake commitments.
I have ben using Airtel since last 3 years. I took a prepaid sim with mobile no. 9871316184. In May/June 2009 i converted this no. to the postpaid connection.
Now on 3rd Feb 2010
I submitted documents and the due unbilled amount of Rs. 1070 (receipt No. 14-5153393) and requested the Airtel Relationship center (Address specified below) execeutive to convert the no. from Postpaid to prepaid
The executive committed that my no. will be converted to a prepaid one and sim will get activated within 24 hours
But more than 4 days have passed, my sim did not got activated. The executive at ARC has stopped picking up my call.
I have also sent mails to 121@airtelindia.com, 'nodalofficerdel@airtel.in' and 'appellate.del@airtel.in' But no one has responded.
I would like to request you to interven in the issue and help me out.
Thanks,
Megha
