Airtel bill payment issue and legal notice Dear Sir/Madam,
I had one airtel broadband connection for more than a year (airtel landline number 08042012437_kk with a/c # 15668607.
) before moving to a new house.
I had informed Airtel people to disconnect the connection one month before my shifting. But to my surprise the connection was still active and I got bills for the other months also accouting to Rs 3682/-.
I have got and still getting calls every now and then evenif I am explaining them about this. What these pople are doing is simply asking to pay the amount and they are never updating the info. what I am giving (my concerns).
But today it was too much as I got a call from an advocate saying he is moving a legal notice against me to the court.
Till now I kept quite thinking of settling down but I am now considering to move to the consumer court. ( regarding not only the bill payment but also the illegal deduction for PC secure).
Please advise.

Airtel Bill Payment issue and Legal Notice Dear Sir/Ma'm,
I want to lodge my complaint towards incorrect billing by AIRTEL for Broadband connection and continuously harassing by asking me to pay the bill for the service which I did not use and sending false court notice to harass me. I want to submit the following points for case analysis:
- I was a Airtel broadband user for past 2 years. I got my new posting in Indore.
- On March 12, 2012 I visited Airtel relationship Centre Kormangala, for disconnection of my connection, where I got to know that I can file for same in two ways. Firstly, through written letter and secondly, through calling 121 helpline.
- On March 26, 2012, I went to Airtel realtionship center and gave them a written letter to disconnect my broadband connection.
- I was informed that the process takes 7 days time once the request is given.
- Accordingly my connection should be disconnected after 7 days, and since I was transferred I left the place and personally disconnected the telephone line and again called 121 customer care to disconnect my connection.
- I was informed the same would be done with next 24 hours.
- My bill generation date is from 5th to 4th of next month.
- I paid all the dues in advance for the upcoming bill at the same service center in cash and got my receipt.
- After disconnection request I was continuously harassed by calls that you refer some of your friend or relative for this connection or you take some connection at Indore, for which I continuously said no that I am not interested as, I already have a Airtel connection at my Place in Indore.
- After 2 months I got a call from Airtel saying that you haven't paid your dues form last 2 months and please pay them.
- Then I logged into my Airtel a/c on there website to check what are the dues pertaining to, I was shocked to see that my connection was not disconnected and I am being chraged falsely for the same where as I was not in the city only to use connection.
- I called customer care helpline and tried to explain my part and was promised not to pay anything and all the charges would be reversed.
- Around 2 days back I got a notice from Airtel on my email, saying "Lok-Adalath notice has been initiated on 28th SEPTEMBER 2012 at Sitting No.171, The Deputy Registrar, Ground Floor, CMM Court Complex, Nrupatunga Road, Bangalore. Between: 11.30 am to 3:30 PM ( Lunch Time 1:30 to 2:30 Pm) for amicable settlement of the above mentioned account."
Now I am not getting why this notice has been issue and since I am in Indore, its not possible for me to reach Bangalore and appear in court. And why I should go and appear in court when I am not guilty. I gave a timely request to disconnect my connection and paid all my dues upto April 5th, 2012.
I'm seriously fed up with all this. I need an end to this matter. Now I have no alternate instead to lodge acomplaint to consumer court. And I am sure that from this forum I will be able to get the desired result for this case. Please help me to resolve this issue.

Today afternoon I got a email from your end stated below:

You wrote in on 27th September 2012, regarding the billing discrepancy against rental charges levied due to delay in cancellation against your airtel broadband connection 08041179979
airtel regrets the inconvenience you have experienced.
Please be informed that we have checked our records and established that a credit adjustment for Rs.457.81 has been processed dated 5th October 2012 against the rental charges levied for the account in question.
Moreover, the outstanding amount reflecting for the mentioned account is Rs.3621.28

I would like to bring into your notice I am not satisfied with the resolution provided by you. I am again highlighting all the issues again. Please check and revert.

Legal Notice from Airtel for a disconnected Broadband Service Hi,
I was using Airtel broadband for almost 3 years and moved to a new apartment in 17th May 2012.
My number was 080 42197742
My billing cyle was 22nd of every month and I had paid all the bills till that.
I made a request for cancellation on 15th May. I got a call from Airtel saying they can shift the connection to new place instead of cancellation and I agreed but later the technical department confirmed shifting is not feasible due to technical issues. Again I asked the customer care to cancel my connection and they agreed I wont be charged from the day I made the cancellation request.
For my surprise I got full bill for May and I called customer care and they asked me to ignore the bill and they will waive it. Again Airtel surpried by sending June bill also and the saga continues..
Multiple times this issue has been highlighted to the Customer care and escalated to the relationship managers and everytime they agree to waive the bill.
I got a FINAL REMINDER mail from Collections.KK@in.airtel.com <Collections.KK@in.airtel.com> on 10th October and I replied to them regarding the issue on the same day.
I also spoke to Mrs Bhavya on 11th October but have not received any response.
Today(16th October) I have received a LEGAL Notice asking to appear before the Deputy Registar on 19th October. Again today I spoke to Mrs Bhavya and Mr. Satheesh and they agreed on phone to take care of the issue but nothing in mail.
Really don't know how to proceed with this.
Should I appear before the Registar?
Can I take it to the consumer court for the wrong billing AIRTEL has done?
Please help me in this.

Hi,
I was using Airtel landline and broadband for 3 years - 080 42197742
On 17th May 2012, we shifted to a new apartment.
On 14th May 2012 I have called the customer care and raised a request for cancellation.
I have received call back from Airtel saying instead of cancellation they can shift my connection to new place and I agreed for that.
Again I got call from technical team saying connectivity is not feasible in the new location so again I called customer care and asked to cancel my connection.
The last 2 steps repeated multiple times and finally I asked them to disconnect it and Customer executive confirmed that I will not be charged from the day I requested for disconnection.
But to my surprise and shock I have been charged for May and June. I have spoke to Airtel customer care team and used there escalation channels multiple times and every time they promised to waive the charges.
Now again as a shock, I received a LEGAL notice from Airtel asking me to appear before registar on 19th Oct. This happened even after I sent multiple detailed emails to the Airtel(Collections.KK@in.airtel.com <Collections.KK@in.airtel.com>) and also spoke to Bhavya and Satheesh from their team.
Not sure how to proceed with this.
Please guide me how should I take it further.
Also I would like to know how can I file a complaint for this harassment in Consumer court.

I have cancelled my airtel connection on june since there was no feasibility for airtel broadband in the new locality.
But instead of cancelling the connection, airtel support team said they are working on technical feasibilty and didnt cancel my connection.
every 15 days I call them to cancel the connection but they didnt cancel it, instead they used to say I will get connection in another 15 days.
I was fedup with them and let it go.
After one month, Airtel people started calling me and asked me to pay the bill.
There was not a single valid reason I should have paid the bill. So, I clearly replied them at I will not pay the bill.
Now I got a notice to my mail saying
Pre-Litigation Case No.191364
Date:-16-10-12
Dear Customer,
This is to inform you that our records shows an amount of Rs.2290/- remains
unpaid till date on your airtel Landline number 08042181264_kk bearing a/c
# 16636666 .
We have also initiated mails, reminding you to make the said payment, which
you have ignored. Hence the case has been moved to our solicitors and a
Lok-Adalath notice has been initiated on 19th October 2012 at Deputy
Registrar , Small Cause Court Pending, Basement, City Civil Court Complex,
Behind Kaveri Bhavan, Bangalore. Between: 11 am to 4 pm (Lunch from 2 p.m.
to 3 p.m.) for amicable settlement of the above mentioned account.
The notice has been dispatched to your billing address. Hence request you
to take the notice and appear in the court on the above mentioned date.
The Payment bill kept increasing and reached 2290 now. The Airtel people kept calling me and harassing me again and again to pay the bill.
I'm seriously fed up with all these. I need an end to this matter.
Now I have no alternate instead to lodge a complaint to consumer court. And I am sure that from this forum I will be able to get the desired result for this case.
Please help me to resolve this issue.

Airtel representatives harassing for payment when no service is being provided Dear Sir/ Madam,
I had one airtel broadband connection and Land line for more than a year (airtel landline number 08042230934 with a/c # 16251806) before moving to a new house end of May 2012. I had promptly called the airtel representative of my move to the new address and requested them to transfer the service to the new apmt. They responded back saying that they cannot provide the service in the new apmt as the # of connections exceeded in the area and it would take up to 3 months for them to set up a new box until them they are placing my account on hold and I would not be charged for the same.
Instead every month the bills kept coming, everything i speak to their representative to disconnect, they would promise me to wave off the amount due and still put me my account on the hold status. I would have already spent up to 10 hrs with different reps explaining the situation, but all this fell into deaf ears as each one would transfer me to different departments ( Case# 19642682)
I had informed Airtel people to disconnect the connection two months ago after finding out that the connection to my new apmt was still not possible, but my bills keep coming. Now i am getting calls from collection agencies threatening for legal notice. Why should i pay when i do not get any service in my new aptmt. They claim my dues amount to Rs 2389.02 now.
Till now I kept quite thinking of settling down and calling the airtel reps but the customer care is a customer nightmare with Airtel. They dont follow the case end to end instead keep transferring and disconnecting with out listening to the issue. I am now considering to move to the consumer court. ( regarding not only the bill payment but also the illegal deduction for PC secure).
Please advise.
