    Thumbs down Tikona Broadband: Unfair Trade Practise

    I opted for tikona broadband's 4 Mbps data plan hoping for a good internet connection and the demo too looked fine. On 18th mar'12 afternoon my connection started and in the evening i realized the connection speed is just 200-300 kbps as opposed to the claimed 4Mbps. I registered my first complaint online on 19th mar'12 at the tikona customer care. The technician visited in the day time and found no problem whatsoever as the speed during day was just fine. But like previously in the evening due to more traffic on access point the connection would fail to keep up. I kept complaining for 2-3 months and every time the same process was repeated without any solution to my problem of extremely low connectivity. On one of the visit the tikona technician told the problem is that the access point (A.P.) nearest to me had 45 users whereas it shouldn't be more than 20 and the only remedy was installation of another AP on my building. Later i received a call from tikona care asking permission to install the AP on my building to which i happily agreed but it was never carried out. Instead i kept getting updated monthly bills with the due amount getting consolidated with each passing day. In the end i just stopped caring and felt cheated at the thought that i paid initial Rs. 2000 for the no-good service cause all day i would be in office and in the late evening when i needed to use internet i couldn't. Now i have received a demand notice dated 19th july'12 threatning legal action if i failed to pay my due bill within 10 days. Now i'm suppose to pay within 10 days for services i could never use and my numerous complains over a period of 2 months didn't draw any such desperate action on their part. I have no intention to pay a single rupee rather I'm planning to complain in the consumer court over the refund of Rs. 2000 i paid.

    Tikona digital networks has proved to be one of those companies that claim better services than they are capable of delivering and the burden of false promises shifts on the consumer who pays both in money and peace of mind.
