I had applied for an airtel broadband connection on the 7th of March 2012. The airtel executive named Fayaz came to my house and picked up the money. This was after i spoke over the phone to Ravish, who initially said his name was Raj, who claimed to be the area manager for airtel in my locality (viratnagar, bommanahalli). I contacted him through Just Dial, his phone number is 9686656049 (Raj/ Ravish). The phone number for the man who visited my apartment to collect the money is 9740978933 ( Fayaz).


After a month of following up on this application, which included approaching the Airtel Office near Bommanahalli (off electronic city road), and contacting Sales Manager Hari Prasad, i was informed that in my area an Airtel broadband connection was not feasible. This is very disappointing of your service because i was assured by your sales person (Raj) that i would have the connection in my house within the week of filing the application. which is why i paid the amount in the first place. The only reason i chose Airtel was because i've heard so much about its service, but from the looks of it, you guys are no different from BSNL.


I applied for a refund with case Id : 16305464, and was assured i will get a check in 20 business days, but nothing came.


I had to place a complaint again with case ID 17985764, to get some action on this issue.


Last week your customer service representative told me that according to information on your systems, my application was made using a cheque that eventually bounced. THIS IS COMPLETELY FALSE. I PAID THE FULL AMOUNT IN CASH TO FAYAZ. My mother and sister are witnesses to it.


I have been waiting for 4 long months now for my refund. If further action is not taken, i assure you i will take this to Consumer Court. This is not about the money, its about the principle. I will make sure you people at Airtel get what u deserve for mis-managing this issue for so long.


I have forwarded a scan copy of my application form to Airtel on July 17th, 2012 and now they have reverted to me saying that "refund for the above mentioned account number is not applicable." and that they have "closed the issue with reference number 18865446", well according to them issue is now "resolved".


I've written this here to get a more appropriate response from airtel. I've forwarded the same above email to 121@in.airtel.com. If i don't get a positive response from airtel i will move this issue to consumer court. its not that far from my place, its on cunningham road.
