Tata Indicom Photon+ Billing Dispute

    Angry Tata Indicom Photon+ Billing Dispute

    Hi,
    I am Ankit Daptry. I bought a Tata Indicom Photon+ USB modem on 6th September. I chose to take up 950 plan which includes data usage of 2GB during day time (7AM-11PM) and 10GB during night (11PM-7AM). My service got activated on 9th September.

    First thing which they did was that my billing cycle was put from 5th to 4th, whereas i started using the service from 9th.

    Today, on 23rd Sept. i received an email from Tata Indicom saying that my usage limit has crossed the specified mark. When i called Customer Care, they said that a bill of somewhere around Rs. 2200 has been generated which means an extra usage of around Rs. (2200-1000) = 1200/0.50
    MB = 2400MB = 2.4GB approx.

    Now, according to me and the log which is maintained in the Photon+ software, there is no possibility of my day and night usage crossing 2GB and 10GB mark respectively. The log maintained in their software shows the time and the usage during any particular time of a day very clearly.
    On 22 Sept. it shows a false reading of 18,446,744 TBytes downloaded which is next to impossible as of now. Even then my log shows a usage of around 3GB only, including day and night usage. Rest of the readings are quite normal and well within the limit.

    This is very disgusting and frustrating that without having used even 50% of the specified limit, a bill of Rs. 2200 has been generated in my name. This kind of irresponsibility is not expected on part of Tata Indicom. POOR SERVICE AND CHEATING are the terms which describe their service. There was a lot of expectations from them but all these service providers are the same.

    Please guide me on what initiatives should i take against them or with them.

    Thumbs down attack their office with stones and lathis

    they only understand this language. only 1 or 2 persons becoming billionare in the name of 3.1 mbps so called broadband+.,, how we will become developed country.. shame on ....
    so attack their offices coz they only understand this language.

    Hi Ankit,I too faced such issue with the billing of my Photon+ connection and got quick resolution by sending mail to their mail id customer.care@tatatel.co.in,please try this....it will work.

    Hi Mukhtar, Thanx very much for ur response...when i called up the customer care guys they told me to do the same...but after lodging the complaint with them, do they rectify the mistakes made in the bill...was evrythng very smooth..? or we have to run around them...it would b very kind of u if u could plz guide me on what shall b done...thnx again.

    I bought a Tata Photon + on 31st July 2009 having number 9230040689 9230040689 and account number 934185426.

    After using the photon I found that speed is very very low. I contacted customer support they gave me various settiing but couldnot increase the speed. The speed I was getting was in the range of 100 to 300 kbps. This was tested from the website provided by Tata support executive. The complaint was registered vide email on august 10 2009 vide docket number 184342283.

    Various executive visited my house, changed various setting in the computer but could not increase the speed. They checked with 2-3 computers at various locations in house and even used their own laptop to check but of no avail.

    On complaining to nodal office on august 11 2009 he closed the call informing me that speed between 256 kbps to 600 kbps is Ok. and had no explanation why my Photon is working so slow.

    On appealling to to Applleate Authority vide no. 193074549 dated 14th October 2009 I am yet to receive any answer.

    I hv stopped using the connection and is running around to get my refund from the comapny, for this expensive white elephant where the ad claims speed upto 3.1 MBPs but comapny says it is not possible.

    Now they are only asking for the bill which they have generated without solving the problem. The 3 bills I have already paid without getting any service, they are silent about it. The complaint to Nodal Office and Apellate Authority is still pending.
